You’ll never run out of things to do in Cebu. Badian, in particular, is one town tourists flock for its popular destinations and adventure-packed activities. This small town, just a couple of hours away by car from Cebu City, is home to the ever popular canyoneering, among other things.
In the heart of Badian is a secluded canyon where trained guides take their excited guests on a whole day adventure. Canyoneering entails a combination of trekking, climbing, walking, hiking, sliding, swimming, and cliff-diving! Be sure to wear the appropriate attire for this because you are not going to exit the canyon dry, that’s a promise.
Many of the canyoneering tours’ final destination is the Kawasan Falls, a secret haven in the middle of a secluded area. It is surrounded with tall rock formations, cliffs, and trees. This three-layered waterfalls cascades down into a clear swimming hole where canyoneering participants relax and swim for a bit before heading home. Although tourists may choose to just go directly to the falls, which isn’t too far from the main road anyway.
Badian is also home to the Badian Mountain Range which is near the Osmeña Peak. Trekkers and mountaineers often trek this range.
For beach bums and ocean-lovers, Badian also has its share of islands to visit. The Badian Island is home to white sand beaches and brilliantly turquoise waters. Snorkeling and swimming are top activities in the island. Rich in biodiversity, this island definitely is a sight for sore eyes. Badian Island Resort is a place you can stay for a couple of days and really live like a local.
If you’re looking for a place to see more exotic fishes and other marine life, Pescador Island has one of the top dive spots in the entire country. Patches of rich coral reefs surround the island, making it a diver’s dream and paradise.
Badian has two known beaches perfect for camping and barkada (group of friends) outings. The Lambug and Terra Manna Beaches are popular destinations to many Cebuanos. And you can do some crab hunting in the mangrove forests near there, as well!
Finally, for all golf-enthusiasts, Badian is home to the Cebu International Golf & Resort, which is the only place in the Philippines that offers 72 18-hole par golf courses. Professional golfers often practice here. Golf, although its main attraction, is not the only thing that the resort has to offer. It has a pool which overlooks a magnificent view of the sea, a restaurant that provides world-class food, and rooms for your convenience and pleasure.
So, better add Badian to your already long bucket list.
