A melting pot of culture, history, and nature, Boac, Marinduque is one of the top places you should visit in the Philippines. It is a first class urban municipality and most of the business establishments in the province are located in this town. Boac upholds its capacity to preserve items and historical artifacts in many of its heritage buildings, and they also work on conserving their natural attractions.
In discovering this quaint little town, first go to the Kabugsakan Falls, and like every other waterfalls in the country, it is majestic. It is perfect for a short swim (or a long one, whatever floats your boat). Some of the other outdoor attractions are the Long Beach Shores where there’s a long stretch of beach, perfect for strolls with a special someone or a friend and the Villa Aplaya Beach Resort, that boasts of a beautiful view of the sunset, along with cottages and rooms for the visitors’ convenience.
Also, to take in the history and culture that can be found in Boac, you should go to the Boac Museum where they house all of the historical artifacts found in their town and what made their municipality the way it is today. The Boac Cathedral, which just so happens to also be the town cathedral, is where all of the locals go to pray and hear mass. If you can, also visit the Boac heritage houses, located in the heart of the town, there you can travel back in time and see what it was like to live back then.
Other attractions would include the Town Plaza, the Casa Real, Freedom Park, Tahanan sa Isok, Laylay Port, among other historical attractions. Truly, Boac has become a center for tourism.
