Bucas Grande Island

Bucas Grande Island is located in the province of Surigao del Norte. It is known for its peaceful shorelines, limestone hills, and crystal clear waters where an abundance of coral reefs and various species of marine life are found.

Visit the Tojoman Lagoon in the Sohoton Jellyfish Sanctuary and you might be lucky enough to find stingless jellyfish swimming around in the emerald waters. Swimming is prohibited in the area in order to protect the jellyfish. Caves are also a must-see in the island, such as the Sohoton Cave and the underwater Hagukan Cave. Visit the Magkukuob Cave and see its many stalactite and stalagmite formations. Finish the trip with a dive off its cliff. Or you can simply retrace your steps and go back to the cave’s entrance.

The trip isn’t complete without an island hopping adventure. Cinnamon Island is known for its cinnamon trees and visitors usually look for a cup of cinnamon tea to cap off their stay there. Marka-a Island is a relatively uninhabited island and is said to be an ideal location for those who want to snorkel.

Tiktikan Lake makes for a picturesque view, where one can simply relax by the shore or go boating. For other thrills and recreational activities, visit the Kapihan Nature and Adventure Park, or plan a day trip to Club Tara and relax in their Jacuzzi room and swim in their lagoon.
