Interestingly enough, this town of not more than 32,000 people is dubbed as the Home of Bakers because in Manila, approximately 90% of the bakers started in Cuenca. The town is also famous for being the location of Mount Maculot.
If you’re an adventurer craving for an outdoor activity like trekking, Mount Maculot has great trails for you to venture on. Alternatively, it makes for a great backdrop in your pictures!
Cuenca’s patron saint is San Isidro Labrador or Saint Isidore the Laborer, the patron saint for farmers. If you’re lucky enough, your visit might land on their annual festival in honor of him. Cuenca is really worth the visit!
