Nestled in the southernmost tip of Negros Occidental, is the quaint, medium-sized, and first class municipality, Hinoba-an. Included in the long list of underrated towns and cities in the Philippines, this wonder has a lot of places for you to discover.
Blessed with natural wonders, this town should be part of your itinerary! The Alanaban Falls is one of the most popular places to visit in Hinabo-an. The trek leading up to the waterfalls is perfect for nature-lovers, as well. The falls is the town’s main source of water.
The Salvacion Cave, another must-see, can be found near Barangay Talacagay’s gorgeous pebbled beach. The place is also graced with natural pools with clear, turquoise waters, which is perfect for swimming. And that’s not all you can find there! There’s the Obong Caves, with a dry and natural pool, where you and your friends can enjoy exploring. Truly, this area is one of Negros Occidental’s hidden treasures.
The Obong Cave, fun fact, was where hero Jesus Villamor docked bringing firearms for the Filipino guerilla forces during the Second World War against the Japanese. This was also where they were able to contact General Douglas MacArthur who was in Australia during that time.
The cave is surrounded with beautiful calm waters that would make you forget about the work you have to do or the dozens of papers you have to write. It would be a shame if you don’t visit this place.
Also, you can opt to go on a little island hopping tour — Hinabo-an boasts of Eden Island and Bolila Island. But if you prefer beaches, the town’s got you covered, too. Pook Beach, Asia Beach, and Century Tree Beach are just three of the beaches you can chill at in this town!
The Hinoba-an is also home to several resorts where you can rest and relax in, as well! Some of the resorts include the Brazaville Resort and the Happy Valley Beach Resort.
