Lingayen

Lingayen, the capital city of Pangasinan province, is a coastal town that beach bums and surfers would love to visit more than once. Head to Capitol Beach and take a stroll in the seemingly never-ending stretch of sand, or go kayaking in its waters. Visit the Lingayen Beach and enjoy its fine, powder-like sand that can rival that of Boracay’s. Recall your Philippine history and remember that Lingayen Beach is also the place where General Douglas MacArthur landed. Visit the Capitol Building and admire its American-style architecture, and don’t be afraid to walk around the city and explore its other museums and libraries. You can also opt to take a stroll in Aguedo Agbayani Park, or visit their Veteran’s Memorial Park to learn more about the province’s history during World War II.

This is also the place where former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos was born. An accommodation area is also named after him, so consider staying at the Ramos House at President’s Hotel next time you find yourself in the area.
