Nuvali

Spread throughout the cities of Santa Rosa, Calamba, and Cabuyao is the residential community of Nuvali. It’s easily accessible from Metro Manila, being less than an hour away. There’s also a shuttle bus service that takes you to and from the area, via the business districts of Bonifacio Global City and Makati.

Although it originally started as a residential community, Nuvali has grown into quite the recreational destination. Don’t worry, you don’t have to own property to enjoy Nuvali’s facilities — they’re open all-day, everyday to the public.

Nuvali has several biking and running trails, all of which offer beautiful scenic views of the nearby Mount Makiling, Laguna de Bay, and Tagaytay Ridge. Most of these trails also run through the wildlife and bird sanctuary, perfect for all the animal lovers out there.

There’s also a lake where you can feed fish or take a water taxi ride.

If you’re someone who’s a little more thrill-seeking and adventurous, Nuvali has something for you too. There’s the Republ1c Wakepark, which is the area’s very own answer to Camarines Sur’s CamSur Watersports Complex. You can test out your wakeboarding skills here, and it’s a lot cheaper than having to fly out all the way to Bicol. Rates at Republ1c start as low as ₱250 (US$6) per hour.

What makes Republ1c unique is that it’s a cable park, meaning you don’t need to attach yourself to a boat to start moving. All you need is to grab on to a handle and hold on for dear life! There’s plenty of twists and turns to be found at the park, thanks its numerous obstacle courses.

If a single day of wakeboarding isn’t enough, you can also rent out rooms at Republ1c to stay in overnight. Rates start at ₱700 (US$15).

Feeling a little hungry? Rush over to Nuvali’s lifestyle plazas, Solenad 1 and Solenad 2. Aside from being great places to shop, these plazas also have a number of restaurants for you to choose from. Don’t worry, all your favorites from Metro Manila are here, whether it’s Army Navy or Italianni’s.

Nuvali may seem like another quiet residential area but it sure is buzzing with activity. And thanks to its close proximity to the Metro, you’ll be sure to come back for more.
