Timog

Timog Avenue, which in English means “South Avenue,” is a major street that borders the South Triangle (several streets that are surrounded by Quezon Avenue, EDSA, and Timog Avenue, which forms a triangle) in DIliman, Quezon City. The avenue and its surrounding streets are home to the top TV networks in the Philippines, ABS-CBN and GMA, as well as bars, restaurants, and comedy clubs.

Laugh until your stomach hurts or sing your heart out in the comedy and live entertainment bars along and around Timog. Catch local celebrity and comedian Vice Ganda in the Laffline Comedy Bar, or sing with drag queens in Zirkoh Comedy and Music Bar. Nearby bars include Music Box and Klownz Comedy Bar, making Timog a great bar-hopping place for nights out.

Food choices are endless in the Timog and South Triangle area. Experience authentic Cantonese cuisine in Hong Kong Spring Deer restaurant, or say “Annyeong!” to unlimited barbecue in Don Day Korean Buffet.

You’ll find more Asian delights waiting in Timog. Try out Kanzhu Hand Pulled Noodles for dimsum and hot bowls of noodle soup. In the nearby street of Tomas Morato, you’ll find Kozui Green Tea, which features light, refreshing, and budget-friendly Japanese dishes.

For fresh vegetarian meals and themed movie nights, grab a seat in Nomnomnom Happy Food. The homey and quirky restaurant is only a block away from Timog Avenue, perfect for late-night dessert cravings and hearty meals.

The Il Terrazzo mall in South Triangle is home to familiar restaurant chains like BonChon, Banapple, and Omakase. If you’re looking for unique-to-the-North eats, check out Luna J Filipino Gastropub and Sundays by Grand Momma’s Kitchen.

Despite being the busy entertainment district of Quezon City, Timog is where you can find the perfect place to hold fairytale wedding receptions or celebrate lavish debuts. Check out Plaza Ibarra along Timog Avenue or Windmills and Rainforest in Scout Borromeo Street for event venues and catering services.

Right on the center of Timog Avenue is the Boy Scout Circle. The circle, and the Scout-named streets around South Triangle, were named so in honor of the boy scout delegates who died in a plane crash on the way to Greece for the 11th World Scout Jamboree in 1963.

Intersecting Timog Avenue is Tomas Morato, famous for being the restaurant-hopping paradise in the city. Whether you’re craving freshly baked bread, a good glass of wine, or a slice of fluffy caramel cake, Tomas Morato has lots of restaurants lined up for you.
