Farmacy Ice Cream & Soda Fountain

Ice Cream

I have loads of backlog. The last review I submitted here was dated February 22 and between then and now I've crossed a number of restaurants off my "must try" list. One of the places I had been longing to try ever since I heard merely the concept of it was Farmacy. The idea of an old-fashioned ice cream parlor was just a fat kid's (me) dream come true. I have had the pleasure of indulging in their delectable treats a couple of times before writing this review and I'm happy to say that it did not disappoint.

Farmacy is beautifully designed with playful pieces of old school ice cream contraptions decorating the space. You can choose to sit by the counter and watch them prepare your treat or dine al fresco (which is the best way especially at night!). Their menu is segmented into different parts: sundaes, floats, a la modes and more. You can have your ice cream in between two cookies, with any kind of soda you want or simply on it's own with the novelty maraschino cherry and whipped cream on top. Their ice cream is dense and almost has a gelato-y of consistency. Whichever way you choose to have your ice cream I promise it'll be a good way to cap off any meal.

Ramen Nagi

Ramen or Noodle

So glad they decided to open a branch up north (UP Town Center). It was my first time to try it with my family about a week ago (week ago HAHAHHA). Had their original butao, squid ink version, salad, gyoza, curry lumpia wrap things (I can't recall what they were named haha!) and a lot of extra ajitamagos!!! Their original butao broth was flavorful and had just enough spice. The squid ink version unfortunately was too nakakaumay and had too much of a bitter burnt flavor for me to enjoy fully. I loved their curry lumpia things! Their aji tamagos were really sweet and packed with umami that it made me wonder if I could revisit this restaurant and order just the eggs. They had pretty good service! (On a random note the waiter had a couple of hickeys on his neck #wildnightout). Try it out if you haven't but it's not going to be one of those ramen joints I would come back to.

Their grilled cheese was soooooo good! Had a mix of three or four cheeses and a buttery cheese spread on the bread. Their flat white was alright. Check out the wonderful installment done by UP Fine Arts students! Really beautiful :)

Their beef and egg rice bowl was gross omg. The beef was congealed like jelly and I'm sure if thats how it should've been... HUHU their siomai was better this time though. The pork spareribs and pork buns are your best bet at this place

Burger

One good ass burger (their Cheeseburger)! The wings weren't that good. Had their Nutella and oreo shake which just left me stuffed. Their fries were great too! Super crispy and they tasted like they were double fried. I really recommend you guys try their burger! It's an open seating area though so it could get a bit warm.

Sushi

Ate here before eating at The Girl + Bull (I barely go to BF so I try to make the most out of my visits hehe) and got their sake (salmon sashimi) and their scallop dynamite roll. The salmon had a reddish tinge which I found weird at first but after a bite of its fatty flesh all my doubts floated away haha! Their sushi was great but a little nakakaumay. The ventilation and parking could be improved! But I would definitely go back!!!

Ordered their Volcano sushi, Truffle and sausage pizza and asian wings. Was super disappointed with the food. 128557 My sister and my Atenean friends gush about this place but the food was overpriced and nakakaumay. I mean their 6 pieces of sushi cost almost 400 pesos. Their wings were dry too. The pizza was way too rich, maybe adding a bit of vegetables would have cut through the umay? I don't know, I'll probably only eat here again if it's with my family aka I don't have to pay LOL

I obviously have tons of backlog. The last time I wrote a review was weeks ago and I felt like writing tonight so I'm churning out review after review! Ate here with a couple of friends and ordered a looot of things. A couple of dishes that stood out were the breakfast fries (fries with bacon and egg), their spicy seafood pasta (topped with caviar) and their truffle fried chicken. The restaurant actually turns into a club/bar at night and it was cool to see it become a watering hole for young people who wanted a fun night out.

One of my favorite restaurants. Ever reliable. I recommend their sausage and cheese platters, their pastas, the bacon slab (or sausage) with egg and garlic rice and their blackout chocolate cake for dessert. Their wine selection is great. It's a small space that fills up quickly so reservations are recommended! If you haven't try it here you must!!! The original branch (kapitolyo) is better than the makati branch tbh
