Jollibee

Fast Food

This is probably the worst Jollibee that serves the smallest big parts ever. You know Jollibee sells more Chicken Joys during lunch than Hamburgers. I just couldn't imagine why of all things why would you make your Chicken Joys more inferior than the Jollibee right across Ayala (just a good 5mins away) by cutting a thigh part in half and say its still a thigh. Its not. Their rib parts are half ribs and their breast parts, boobs lang. Id rather go to Chowking.

My Mother-in-law loves Pinoy food, lutong bahay in particular, kaya when my wife and i was looking for a perfect Post valentines date for her, this place made perfect sense. For me though, i find this place crazily over priced. We ordered Pancit Canton, Asparagus Soup, and Pepper Steak. The Asparagus soup is fantastic, its exactly just the way i like it (although i may be a bit biased because i had flu when we ate here so all hot soups, for me that time was grrrreat!). The pancit canton was typical although the noodles used were better than the usual pancit canton. It doesn't taste like the hard pancit canton you buy in palengkes. The Pepper steak most probably was the highlight of the night. It was made from Pinoy Beef. I normally have biases towards pinoy beef. For me you use pinoy beef for pinoy sabaw (i.e. bulalo, sinigang) and Angus,Black or Wagyu for Steaks. You dont do Wagyu Bulalo, but this dish just proved me wrong. You can make Batangas beef - steak, not bistek, not beefsteak, its Batangas or Tagaytay Steak, they even asked me if we liked it medium or well done...what?) it tasted like a cross breed between Angus Beef and Beef Steak, it had that pinoy twang. It was gooood. Must try. Although MAHAL! I mean, for the price we spent here, i could eat a full meal plus desert somewhere else. But for Valentines, i guess eating here once in awhile is ok.

This is an ok place to satisfy your Ramen cravings but its not even close to THE benchmark that is Ukkokei Ramen Ron. My wife and i ordered Usual safe jap dishes, Gyoza, Tori Kara-age and Tantan Mien (they spelled it as Tantan Min.) Their Gyoza had a hint of Joy Lemon scent, something quite artificial in the taste, most likely its the wrap. Their Tori Kara -age is technically just Chicken Lollipops with a Japanese sounding name, theres nothing authentic in it,dont get me wrong though, its good. I dont know if its because i love fried chicken to begin with. Their Tantan Mien falls under OK lang level. Unremarkable but can go therre if i dont eat for a week. Its enough tonsatisfy my ramen cravings. In summary, i still might drop by here if i cant go to ATC to eat in Kenji Tei Ramen, but if i'll crave for Jap food in the future, i'd rather go yo Bentoya.

Never really liked Thai food, dunno if my taste buds are maturing but this is the bestest Thai Restaurant ever! 9 out of 10 friends agree. I even converted some friends to ne avid fans of this place specially when they finally opened in Valero. Must try their Pad Thai (chicken), Tom Yung Goon, Pork Spareribs in brown thai sauce
