I love breakfast food so it's awesome this place is only a block away from my office. I'd be happier if it were poco deli/epic instead though.

For first timers I'd recommend the corned beef tapa. It's nothing out of this world but the serving size is okay.

Anyone who rates this place lower than 4-stars doesn't know what he/she's talking about. Have you tried their beef kebab? It's flippin' fantastic!

I suggest you also try the bulgogi soft taco. Small serving but oh so good.

No complaints about the food but man, the servers don't seem to have a sense of urgency. This is fast food for chrissake.

Orale is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. Their burritos and quesadillas are divine.

But to be honest, if I take a burrito blind test, I probably won't be able to tell. They all taste the same. Beans. Good thing I love beans.

Dessert

Slice takes Champorado to the next level. Nope, it's not your usual sticky rice and tsokolate one-two punch; they actually use sushal ingredients like nuts, granola, and dark Belgian chocolate. Oh, you also get sliced bananas and peanut butter on the side, yum!

-1 star for not having an option to get tuyo on the side.

Wouldn't really recommend this place to anyone unless you have 1,200++ to spend on "up town" steaks.

Wooden Spoon

Filipino

Just had lunch with my grandparents here and I couldn't have picked a more perfect place -- good food at reasonable prices.

Tried the wooden spoon chicken and I was unimpressed, considering the fact that it was bearing the 'wooden spoon' name on it.

Watch out for their stuffed pechay though -- the waiter swore by it and it didn't disappoint.

I will definitely go back to try out their other dishes. The place looks nice and the waiters are some of the friendliest I've seen ever.

Excellent for dates too ;)

Abe Restaurant

If you have foreign friends or relatives coming over, do you country a favor and bring them to Abe. This place is easily one of the best Filipino restaurants in the country (or maybe the world).

What really stood out for me were the crispy pata, crispy adobo, and crispy tadyang. Yeah they're all crispy and fatty -- and they go well with the unlimited rice served.

Oh and don't leave the place without trying out their Sikreto ni Maria. It's like suman swimming in coconut milk, with mangos on the side.

Warning: there's a slim chance you might die of coronary heart disease if you keep eating here. But at least you'll die happy.

Beef brisket clay pot rice at P135 is a steal. And mind you, it doesn't taste cheap at all.

You probably wouldn't want to bring a date to this place because it looks terrible. Bring the boys after a ball game and you're guaranteed to get praises.
