Su Casa Mexican Grill

I stumbled on this place while on my way to pick-up somebody at NAIA 1. This place is tucked behind a commercial area along the main road. There's a signage by the road though and a driveway by the side leading to a commercial area with ample parking space. 128077🏼 I got the steak chimichanga, cheese and jalapeño quesadilla and a horchata to wash it all down. Loved it! Generous servings, quick service and good flavors. I may have even liked it better than Hermano's tacos in Molito. Do try the horchata, it's quite yummy and refreshing!

I booked for my husband's birthday dinner here last weekend, and we were surprised to have the entire place to ourselves! I found out that it's actually more of a lunch place. It was cool though. We liked the setting of dining in an ancestral house with old music playing in the background. Staff was nice and very friendly. We had a lot of food that night too! We pre-ordered their fried combo platter with the veggie lumpia, lumpia g shanghai and meatballs, the kulawo which is like kinilaw na talong, paku salad, bistek tagalog, adobo and for dessert we has the fried suman with mangoes, turon and got a free birthday cake! Whee! I lived the bistek tagalog and the fries suman the best! 128513

Sitio de Amor Farm Resort

Hotel

If you're into nature, tranquility and simplicity, then this is a really good place to unwind with the family or bond with good friends. Booking this place was a breeze with the prompt reply of the owners. We loved that the farm had a HUGE freshwater pool that is fed by the river(?) on the location. Our kids loved it and so did we! Of course there's also their lovely infinity pool with a view of the mountains and lush greenery. The grounds were huge and open, perfect for kids or just strolling around, checking the fruit trees and that ancestral house of Don Tomas Morato on their property. Accomodations are basic and modest but really homey. They have a nice pavillion for leisure and dining. Breakfast was good too and Ms.Magda, the host was really accommodating and nice. 128513

Bamba Bistro

Thanks looloo for our free appetizer! So I finally had the chance to come back to Bamba, with my cousin this time. I'm happy to say my 2nd visit didn't disappoint! I went for the lamb adobo and it was good! The meat was tender and packed with flavor. My cousin had the duck raviolo and it too was delish! Their prawn salad though was portioned too small, so I think that dish was a bit over priced. For dessert, we had the pizookie and it was as fantastic as the first time. We'll keep coming back here for sure.

Ice Cream

This place is love! We checked this place out on our way home from work today. This place is easy to miss though. It's tucked in between Thai Dara and Lia's cakes. I can imagine how parking could be difficult. It's a good thing we got there around 3pm so parking was a breeze.

The place is small but I was surprised to see how busy it was at that time of the hour. I had their chicken meltdown while my kid and husband had ice cream.

Wow. So far the best sandwich I've had around the metro!! Chicken was tender and flvorful, crispy bell peppers all smothered with this awesome awesome dressing! The bread was good too! It didn't sog up the chicken. I had a full sandwich and took the other half home to eat for dinner and guess what? The bread still held up! Wonderful! 128536

We loved their ice cream! Had the chocolate, strawberry and the madagascar and all were perfect! Not to sweet, it tasted fresh and lovely chunks of cookie dough.

I'm already looking forward to try their steak and pasta dishes. And more ice cream, of course!

Gerbu's Burger N' Tacos

Burger

Sorry, I was too hungry to make photos when I tried this place out. I have tried their burger with blue cheese and their taco to go. I loved the burger! Patty was fresh and tasty, bread was perfect and the toppings really went well with the burger! 128076

The taco was good BUT I wish it came in the traditional shell instead of this thin open faced cupcake like shell which was good though but I prefer to eat my tacos with my hands and not with a knife and fork.

Seafood

I was craving for seafood and so I thought I'd try this place out. They were on their soft opening still.
The place was alright. Nothing fancy. I got their salted egg something something flavored shrimp. 128528 I can't really remember the name. Anyway, I was told that the minimum order was half a pound. So yeah, I had some left to take home.
Overall, the shrimp was fresh! Yay! The seasoning was ok but it could be improved. I wish the seasoning was absorbed more though.
I also got corn on the cob as a side but it tasted and felt like it wasn't cooked when you order. It already felt like it had been sitting on the counter for a while.
Overall, food and experience was just okay. I think I prefer the other shrimp place at ATC mall.

Mrs. M's Classic Recipes

Café

I've been passing by this new building on the way to work and noticed how there are new shops that opened. It was actually the coffe shop that caught my attention.
Anyway, hubby and I decided to check it out and saw Mrs. M's tucked on the same floor. We were warmly greeted by the chef and owner of the quaint resto and personally told us in detail what's in their menu.
I decided to get the pinakbet rice and my husband got the chef special fried chicken adobo flakes. Our verdict --- we loved it! Ingredients were fresh and taste was great. 128522 what I loved even more is the personal touch that the owner and chef extended. I got a free serving of bagnet because he saw how I struggled gnawing my bagnet! 128516 I really thought it was unnecessary but I was floored by his generosity. Too bad I was too busog to finish the extra serving. Now that's customer service, right?
Hubby liked his chicken adobo flakes too. I would want to come back and try other items on their menu.oh, there's not much on the menu, but you can tell it was well thought of because they all sounded good from his description.
The place is quaint. Good for small groups. I love the spices and herbs stocked on the shelves. It's a cook's shopping paradise! Ooh and I saw chocnut spread too! Awesome! I will buy a jar of that and stash it in my secret hiding place. Yup! I'm a sucker for anything chocnut. (Sorry nutella!)
Price range is 180-200(250?) a dish, so not bad at all. If there was room for dessert, I would've tried.128513 Chef said his wife makes them.
I do hope they stick around Katipunan! This place is definitely worth a try! 128077128077128077

Japanese

After reading looloo reviews, I found an opportunity to try this place out last Monday. Everybody was spot on when they said that this place looks like a s_!thole. LOL
I got the salmon sashimi, chahan, miso soup, tempura and tekka maki. Di ako gutom, mejo lang.128516 Anyway, salmon was fresh but it's smaller than what is typically served in Japanese restos. Miso soup was chunky which I liked but the broth could be stronger. Tempura was ok but texture ia differrent from your average Japanese tempura. Tekka maki took me by surprise. Too much wasabi in it! LOL My nostrils flared and my nasal passages cleared! Haha! My quest for good japanese food that could rival my love affair with Makati's Nihonbashitei continues! Gusto ko authentic...na mura! Hehe. So far, nothing comes close here in the south.
