Ive been a long time customer of this place that goes way way back so even with previous not so good ratings, i kept coming back coz its a good take out place and its affordable.

So the previous night, went here again for take out. Ordered Fish fillet tausi, even with the meal sealed inside container and brown bag, the scent of the food that emeneate from it was strong. Should have gotten a hint from it. I was just too hungry to consume it fast that i later realized that it was too salty. Too salty was an understatement, as even after the meal i have this funny aftertaste inside my mouth that signals too much msg or its flavor. And im not sensitive to msg since im accustomed to chinese food having mild palpitation means something else. Tried to flushed it out by drinking water and and gargling but .. hay... long story short i didnt feel well the day afterwards that cause me to take a leave that cause this poor review.

I dont know if its a joke but as of late not much of positive food experience especially the latest one. I rarely give 1 star but if i theres any lower than that ill rate it on them. Never coming back. 128544

Ill just go striaght to the point. Order for a take out of their steam fish toppings + pork siomai for dine in while waiting since cooking time is 15 mins. I was served with juice + sauce + soup + fork n spoon which gives me a weird feeling i might be served for a dine in. And yes, after 15 mins my order came for dine in. @#$128544 128556128545

For all orders i really dislike transfering rice toppings to take out especially if its untouch as compare to ala cart. Logic dictate its not just simple ..........

I wont go on to more details but the night end up i was given a plastic for take out then rice was added then it was charged to me. I ended up eating it at their place Ruined my plan for workout tonight. Eventually was really pissed off. Hence this low review.

Sorry im guilty of not writing good reviews when its due. At any given day its 4 stars for me here. 128522

I always go for a take out but decided to dine it here coz its nasi goreng, the rice itself was really good with ample shrimps and small slices of squids, egg was ok, but the chicken was just plainly cold, temperature probably the same as cold cuts, i thought that given its near closing time this serving is inevitable but man, few bites off the chicken and i gave up. I have to ask the server if they can replace it, sure they did but it didnt help as they replaced it with just bigger portion but temp is the same 128529 the plate given to me have this blackish residue at one side so i didnt touch that 1 piece near it, given that its near closing time and its probably cleaning time at kitchen, im just okay with it128531 just have to imagine thats its warm 128528

service was okay. Servers were naman. With consistent good food but chilled chicken for this visit, the best i can give is 3 stars for now.

Out for a late lunch. Was pleasantly surprised with the size of the servings and taste. The hainanese chicken was steamed not boiled. And it came with the required dipping sauces to have the real authentic taste. The mayo tofu was good. And the kopi trail was on fleek! Over all a must try place

I visit here regularly, its my one stop cheap eat that's perfect for the budget and with lots of variety, that being said i don't much review this place. But tonight was a different story, I knew each and every servers of this place, but almost 3/4s of them were nowhere to be seen, with i later knew they were sent to their new branch, okay.

I ordered for a take out which one new server took my order without jotting it down, after 10 mins, he went back to me and ask whats my order again. :( i ask my rice to be plain one as opposed to fragrance rice, i was ask again if my order is toppings or ala cart :( double fail. :( after 10 mins, another server ask me if i wanted it to be taken out. :( triple fail. Need more training but not at my expense :(

I found out later that the servings was smaller than usual. And the fish that i ordered was too salty... their fish with white sauce was my favorite but it was too salty that its saltiness still lingers in my mouth until now :(

Hope they improve next time!!!

We had dinner here because it is just beside the hotel we are currently staying at. I was tired of eating fastfood and wanted some real food but was too lazy to go anywhere far.

Upon entering, I was a bit surprised that it looked like an eatery / beer place. It is not a place I would normally choose to eat at but since we were already there, I decided to try it out, anyway. Besides, I was curious about how Chinese, Singaporean, Malaysian and some Indonesian dishes are done at an eatery in Manila.

There was an unpleasant smell that I also immediately noticed after entering. But after a while, I think I got used to the smell because I couldn't smell it anymore.

In spite all of that, 101 Hawker Food House exceeded my expectations. I lowered my expectations once I saw how the place looked and smelled. I ordered the Beef Rendang topping, it was only P130, with a generous serving of rice, a cup of clear soup, and already includes a glass of orange juice!

Taste-wise, the beef rendang was alright. It tasted like beef rendang, but of course, I did not expect it to be at a gourmet level. I appreciate that a place like this makes the effort at presentation, see the lemongrass decoration and the pechay leaf on the rice.

The rice was not good quality rice, but the whole meal was only P130 so I think that's acceptable.

The affordable prices and surprisingly better than expected food are the reasons to visit.

Would I eat here again? Probably. It is affordable and the nearest "real food" restaurant to our hotel. It's not for those who are picky though.

A lot of people seem to like it because the place was full after office hours.

So apart from our usual Roast Chicken and LK order, we tried something else. Haha!

Prawn Laksa. And it was absolutely amazing! The broth was so creamy and delicious, the prawns were huge and cleaned thoroughly. It was also just for 170PHP. Wow!

Super sulit!

Food trip with a dear friend.   I made an executive decision to pig out at 101 Hawker Food House.   I've heard good reviews about 'em.  Personally,  i have my eye on their Laksa.

Albeit the fact that i was born and bred in Makati,  Urban Avenue sounds foreign to me.  I was delighted when i found out it's near MMC.   Weird that i haven't tried their food yet and my head is too busy running a play by play on my next visit, call it Foodie Intuition (yes,  i made that up)

Don't expect a fancy interior,  Hawker is the typical hole-in-the-wall joint.  No fancy lighting and furniture.  Set-up is simple,  pick an item from the menu then wait for your food to be served.

Singapore Laksa (php 130.00).  I requested the server to make the laksa really spicy.  This one i weally weally like.  Generous servings of full bodied broth,  glass noodles,  and shrimp.   If I had my way,  I'd order thia sans everything else, I'll be a happy camper with just the broth.

Nasi Goreng (php 140.00)
Huge serving.  Three pieces of fried fowl on the side,  nasi goreng rice topped with a fried egg.  I know how a legit nasi goreng tastes like and it would be mighty unfair to compare Hawker's version to the original.  I say,  the plate is a lil shy of flavor but it would definitely satiate your cravings.  It is not remarkable but it's pretty decent.

Pork Curry (php 125.00)
This is not the usual curry.  I was expecting something similar to the Indian kind but i was wrong.  The curry flavor is subtle and the dominant one is the coconut milk.  First time to try this curry variant and i like it.  Creamy with subtle hints of curry and chili.  This would be 10x awesome if they added more heat.

I am definitely coming back to try their other dishes.  I have my eye on the Mee Goreng and Beef Rendang.  I guess the play by play of my second visit will materialise after all.

Peace Out!

If you're looking for something cheap and also for a vegetarian menu, 101 Hawker Food house has just that. This still has the hole in the wall feel. Everything looks good and is good and the best part of it is that it is cheap. The only thing I dislike about it now is that it gets soooo full! I guess they learned to have a happy hour and serve a lot more beer. The server knows their menu and they can manage the crowds. The last time I was here was several years ago.

My friend is a vegan. Yeaup, Vegan. She's starting out but seems to be sticking to her guns. It's also nice to be sort of influenced that way. Maybe she has a violation once a month, this wasn't this instance. This place goes to show that vegetarian food can be very tasty. We ordered the salt and pepper veggie meat and the vegetarian fried rice and these did not disappoint on a Friday night. I forgot how much it was but it definitely did not need to break the piggy bank for this.

By the way, the serving is fit for two matakaw people. Yuh-uh!!!!

I love this place! It's cheap, fast and the food is delicious.

I especially like their sauces, that practically goes with everything you order.

Their Hainanese chicken is my favorite.

A little reminder, they have big portions. 9786
