Sometimes I just drive to look for a new restaurant to try. Yesterday, I somehow got attracted to orange color and got curious enough to have Taiwanese Cuisine. Not many of this cuisine around.
Their Beef Noodle was amazing. The meat seemed like fat with its really soft texture. The taste was intensely beef and its noodles firmly good. I just find the soup quite fatty.
Bokchoy and Fresh Tofu with Century Egg was a superb compliment. I actually was able to finish all three without feeling any guilt.

No frills, almost hole-in-the-wall-esque atmosphere. The a/c were obviously revived from somewhere but it was cool inside so thats fine.
Table and sofa don't match and so was how the tables were placed.
Menu was in a lengthwise paper with small printed letters. I guess its now the new standard of restaurants printing on a piece of paper. As if laminated picture menus are passè.
Ordered pork chop rice and eggplant in sauce, an added bonus i got free coffee.
In taiwanese cuisine, pork chops are like the golden standard or signature dish.
Food came out about 10mins later which was a bit longer than expected but still acceptable.
Pork chop was i would say superb! Not too oily, crispy, or salty. Meat was thin easy to take slices using just my fork. Right amounts of five spice and pepper. I tried their chili sauce, and it was excellent with the pork chop. Rice has this minced pork topping.
Now sadly i can say the eggplant in sauce is a real breaker of hearts and tongue. There were 6 slices of eggplant in this brown dead sea salt level salinity. My tongue was crying for water. I had to rescue the eggplant from the sauce by cleansing it with the soup included (life saver).
Owner / manager asked about the food i told him bout the 1 kg salt/10ml sauce. No comment or offer of another one ( which i would refuse) i wouldn't want to bother the chef.
Then the coffee, and it was actually better than good. I love coffee and this was good!
Cost - pork chop rice 120
Eggplant (6 slices) in deadly sauce - 130
Is it worth 130 for 6 slices of eggplant? It wasnt even like aubergine stuff.
Id probably come back again in a few weeks . I root for small enterprises... I hope itll be better.
