Haven’t gone to this place on a regular day, but we had our Christmas Party here and were disgusted by the awful service. The staff did not treat us like customers, it’s like their doing us a favor.

Slow Thursday sound because of Top Suzara10084️. I only go here when he's on stage so I can release all my inner tito and tita brought by my college days128514. Just like everyone in my age group, I've come to detest the sound of loud music and long avoided the hip clubs in the metro. I'm more of an acoustic and slow RnB type of guy. So, a Thursday night with one of my favorite vocalist in town is a perfect idea.

I have to commend Top for taking good care of his voice as he can still muster to sing his singles and cover hits from the early 2000 when he was still one of the front leads of Freestyle - When I Met You, 6 8 12, Incomplete, This Time and Before I Let You Go.10084128557128576

As for the place, there were enough couches and tables to accommodate a crowd. The sound system was more than good as well. Rest room are well kept and all their ACs were working fine even though there were a lot of people during my last visit.

Food is a tad pricy but it's something I already expected since they don't usually ask for a door charge. I'll probably have a couple of visits more before I can put a rest to my Top Suzara addiction. 128517

Finally got the chance to visit 12 Monekys now that they're closer to where I live. They used to be located inside Century Mall (Makati) but has since called El Pueblo (Ortigas) home.

Perfect opportunity for me to go is when they had their Salamat Alamat benefit gig with a lot of artists in their line up. I won't go into details on the gig (even though my photos are showing the artists) but will focus more on the place itself.

Parking - there's a common parking for El Pueblo guests. It is not free parking nor flat rate and we got charged Php50 even if they didn't issue a ticket. Parking space is not super cramped so don't worry that much. I saw some basement parking although not sure who are allowed to park there.

My friend said the restroom looks unfinished but she was thinking if that was just the design they opted for or if it was just an excuse as a theme. 🤔

For the food (and price!), they offer an array of options and you can pretty much get pasta, pizza, salad, entrees, and appetizers. We got nachos and pizza and at around 375-450 per order, you better feel full fast or eat really slowly. Cocktails are at 200 a glass and that's normal (<3 amaretto sour), but their beer bottles are 128561 pricey. Get the cocktails instead. Food is not bad but as mentioned, can be a price challenge if you aim to be a regular here.

This place is more on the expensive side if you want to compare 12 Monkeys with the other "gig venues" but it's more upscale and comfortable anyway. They have high chairs with uneven footing, but the placement of the seats give you a good view of the artists playing. Not sure how this would look like with an SRO event, that is if they will even allow one in the first place.

Will I come back for the music hall? Definitely.

Will I eat here again? Probably 1 order is enough...for sharing.

Chanced upon a visit on a well made music hall. We were there to watch Dear Walt, it’s part of their ONS or One Night Stand series that happens every first Wednesday of the month. One night only. I like this better than Teatrino’s set up.

It’s called 12 Monkeys because it’s owned by 12 owners. One of them is Parokya star, Chito Miranda.

To share we got their Street Food platter. They could have added more variety. It only had Kwek Kwek and Fish Balls. That made it expensive at Php 250. Nothing exciting.

I did enjoy their Chunky Monkey Pie. The Banana blended well with a soft texture of cheesecake with hints of peanut butter and chocnut. At Php 345 it’s quite expensive though.

Now I discovered this place, I look forward to catch more shows and this time try out their main dishes.

Liked the laidback vibe of this place. Freestyle was performing when we came. Place was full however the people were boring. The crowd wasn't that energetic it turned out to be a lame night.

Good thing I was with my friends! We shared a table with wine and some food. I liked their sisig and the nachos but the serving was disappointing - too few. And the seats around the table where we were located were sooo uncomfortable. They were high chairs without any feet and back support! I kept on standing and standinh from time to time. Anyway, at least I liked the band. We even requested a song and they performed it - their classic 'Til I Found You. Lovely. (But yes the old Freestyle is way better than the vocalists now.)

Classy place.

Listening to eargasmic music performed live by talented local artists while sipping beer or wine poured in a glass by a waiter. That's the idea here in 12 Monkeys. It's located high up Century Mall, overlooking the Makati skyline. Fancy. But again, it's the music that hooked me to this place. 5 stars!

I guess I'm getting really old. I am more into the chill and quiet place where I can chit chat with my friends than the noisy tugst tugst place where you can't hear each other and the non stop eagle eye spotting of some endangered species. 128541

I really enjoyed our stay here in the veranda of 12 monkeys with the cool breeze of the drizzly weather, view of Makati and just a soft music from Top Suzara's band playing inside.

Drinks are priced fairly at 180 pesos for a glass of mojito and 90 pesos for local beers. Pretty decent. I got conscious at first since I am wearing shorts but they don't mind at all. Such a relaxing place to unwind with good friends. 128522128077🏻

Perfect place to watch a gig although it gets crowdy, as in crowdy when the band is very famous.

We failed to catch Urbandub's Endless concert. Boo. So we settled for their acoustic set at 12 Monkeys.

Place was cramped, door charge was at 300 with no drink! Waiters kept pushing people so they could pass. Ugh I simply hated standing by the bar that night! I wanted to order some food but after that awful experience, hell no. I can't believe waiters were the ones who were intentionally bumping into me every single time they had to pass through. I wasn't even blocking any passage way. How rude.

I'm giving the stars to their excellent sound system and for Urbandub's awesome set. But overall, I'm just going here again if the band is worth it. The place got so crowded with jejemons by the end of the night. Yes, jejemons. WHY.

Improve on the manners of the staff, limit the standing capacity of the place, and fix the placements of the tables! This bar is charging around 300-500 for every person, I think that's not too much to ask.

The cheapest tables cost 3000 for 3-4 persons, PLUS the door charge. W O W.

Adios!

We went here for the JB Music Battle of the Bars gig. 128513 The place was very pretty but got very crowded as the night went on. The tables were honestly a hindrance for the amount of energy that was there. 128547

Nonetheless, the gig itself was fun. We all grabbed the 150-peso with one free beer opportunity in 12 Monkeys and the bands we were able to watch (while we could still breathe inside lol) were awesome! 9996

What brought us here was Franco. That stud of a singer/swimmer/surfer is what you can't say no to. It's been a while since I've seen a gig and this was the perfect day to go watch because the bar wouldn't be as full on a weekday. Ed Sheeran was also playing that day so I would much rather pay to see Franco in the flesh.

Century city mall has a good and steady amount of breeze. It's like the developers studied this place for it to be airy. I noticed that hitting the fifth floor did not change the wind flow - it was refreshing! I took my time making my friend wait since he made me wait for an hour - geez! Upon reaching the venue, the interiors looked pretty jazzy. It was spacious enough for people to move around, the place had ample lighting that you didn't have to go groping around to lose your footing and it did not reek of a bar. Entrance was P300 but it didn't include a drink. To get a table for four, you will have to consume a minimum of P3,000. Easy peasy if you wanted to drink and binge eat. If not, it's hanging out at the bar for you. There were several other bands that played, i could hear them from outside and some were pretty good.

We were holding off on ordering drinks. Don't ask me why but we did. I had a classic mojito which was spot on. The mint was muddled fine and it wasn't too sweet. And then there was the food. I've begun to study the menu and their pica-pica to Chika selection looked tasty. Yes, I took a look at other tables' orders to gauge. We ordered the Nacho ordinary Nacho and Spam fries.

The nachos were dusted with a barbecue flavor, the toppings generous. The chicken was a little bit on the dry side but I avoided it and had my friends eat it. No wastage! Yay!

Spam fries are different kinds of spam with a tempura batter served with three different kinds of sauces. The tempura batter did not do anything to elevate the flavor, but it did add to crunch which made it count as fries. Dips were ketchup, mustard and one that we thought was thousand island but I refuse to believe it was. 128522

Franco wasn't going to start yet, and my palate wasn't satisfied. We were going for it and chose the St. Peter's egg. What it is is a sinful sizzling plate of cholesterol. Three pieces of "balot" duck eggs, rolling in crab fat (aligue) mixed with garlic butter. Woah. Describing it now gave me a headache. Thank goodness I didn't have one after. It tasted more of crab fat, less of duck egg. We finished our drinks and headed inside.

Service took a while. Am not sure if their kitchen churned food out slowly or if there were just too many orders that night. The menu is interesting enough for me to go back. Will be waiting for another good band then.

12 Monkeys serves great food and wonderfully concocted drinks. I was too excited to try more than 1 because the drinks served at 12 Monkeys Music Hall and Pub were just too pretty to pass up on!

Strawberry Mojito (Php225.00), Sweet Monkeys (Php250.00) and Ivan’s Secret (Php250.00)
