I literally want to fly back to Legazpi to be able to eat here again! Everything in their menu is worth trying! Pair it with their tinapa rice and you will definitely be coming back for seconds.

They have the best pinangat and their bicol express is heaven to my chili loving tongue. Their uniquely flavored ice cream is to die for!

Went here on our first day in Legazpi...made sure to come back before our flight back to Manila.

Whew. This is the first time I've ever downed a glass of sili. Me and my boyfriend ate at 1st Colonial Grill in Pacific Mall when we visited his hometown in Legazpi. I ate 5-spice chicken with tinapa rice and I must say I'm impressed. The chicken's sauce was tangy, savory, and sweet. It matches well with the saltiness of the tinapa rice. Then came the sili shake. Traitor, I must say. The first sip was a really creamy vanilla-y taste, the after taste hits you like a Pacquiao punch in the mouth. My boyfriend dared me to finish the whole glass in one sip. A sucker for challenges that I am, I gave it a go. It ended with regret. All in all, the place is nice, the people are super friendly(tho i don't understand a thing they're saying) and the food is great. :)

Tried the famous Sili Ice Cream!! There are 3 levels of its spicyness (level 1,2 and 3). It's good but I am not a fan of anything spicy :( For me, the Pili Ice cream is the best ice cream I ever tasted!! ❣128523

Ordered a scoop of their sili ice cream (L1) just to try. It was ok. It tasted like cream with a manghang after taste. Better siguro kung may flavor (like strawberry?) tapos sili after taste.

The first restaurant I got to try when we first set foot in Bicol. I love spicy dishes and so excited to try other Bicolano specialties 128522 Some of the food we ordered from their menu are Bicol Express, Tinapa Fried Rice and Chili Ice Cream for dessert! Definitely a must try!

it's the bf's first time in bicol last xmas so i had to train his tongue in eating spicy foods!

we had sili ice cream level 2 - this location offers levels 1&2 in the menu. it was sweet and the chili after taste was really there. hot! i finished 2 scoops and the bf had 1 scoop for himself. tinutong ice cream was notably good.

pasta bicolana a bit on the dry side but the guinobatan longanisa taste was there and was seasoned well. this dish is spicy too.

staff are attentive and the bill was given fast.

will try tinapa fried rice next time when i'm on vacay again.

eating here would be a good experience for tourists. 128076

The best place to enjoy authentic Bicolano cuisine. I loved their food, and the price is very reasonable. Try their Sili Ice Cream... It's gata-based with that chili hint... Super good! They also have other variants such as Pili Ice Cream and Malunggay Ice Cream.

Had a meeting with my other business partners and we decided to do it in 1st Colonial Grill since I haven't tried it yet.

I had the Pasta Bicolana and One scoop of each flavor-- tinutong and sili ice cream.

The pasta was really good. Portion was a bit small but it was well-prepared. Cooked al dente and fairly bathed in olive oil with guinobatan chorizo (which was really, really yummy and a tad crispy), and drizzled with parmesan, garnished with siling labuyo on top. 128077 Of course it was spicy, it wouldn't be a bicolano dish if it wasn't... And I liked it 128076Coulda use a few more shakes of that parmesan canister, though. 128513

I just wish it had a bigger serving. But for the price, it was reasonable. 128522

The ice cream was also not overwhelmingly huge in serving, for someone like me who doesn't really go for desserts, it was enough. The sili ice cream was ok but I loved the tinutong (burnt rice) ice cream. It had the perfect blend of bitter and sweet flavors. 128076 great for people who are not fans of sweets. 128513

This place is popular among the locals and it's just expected because of the kind of food they have which pretty much caters to the bicolano palate. 128077

So if you're travelling and want to experience bicolano food with a twist, try this place. You'll enjoy it. 128077

Before we leave Legaspi, we went to get some more local ice cream at 1st Colonial Grill. This time we got malunggay (okay), kalamansi (didn't like so much), salabat (the best of the three), the ginger taste wasn't strong, it was just right. Overall, my favorite flavor is still tinutong.

We had lunch here. Garlicky adobo with tinapa rice and honey peanut liempo, which were good, not dry. But they're known for the local flavors of their ice cream, from left to right, sili (chili), pili, and tinutong (burnt rice). At first, the sili tasted fine and then the spiciness kicked in and wow, it has a kick alright. My favorite was the tinutong.

1st Colonial Grill is one of the favorite restaurants in Legazpi that tourists shouldn’t miss when in the city. Using the freshest and finest ingredients, 1st Colonial Grill creates classics including Bicolano favorites such as Laing, Bicol Express and the Tinutungang Manok (chicken stewed in coconut cream extracted from slightly scorched coconut milk that infuses a distinct smoky flavor), a local favorite and one of Albay’s culinary jewels.

1st Colonial Grill also has a cafe famous for its unique desserts, especially the now nationally-famous "Siling Labuyo" flavoured ice cream.

At 78 pesos for 2 small scoops, this ice cream flavor is kinda pricey but worth trying. I agree that this ice cream flavor is indeed worth the price and the publicity.

I am personally impressed at how they were able to nail the flavor of this delicious ice cream with right amount of sili kick. You can feel it teasing your throat but not to the point of hurting. Addictive. I wasn't sure if I would like it at first but I did. Come on, Siling Labuyo Ice cream? Yes there is! And it sure is a winner! Must try.

Enjoy Siling Labuyo Ice Cream!
