My girlfriend Mia and I traveled to Pampanga a week ago to join in thousands of others for the much anticipated Hot Air Balloon Festival. Although it was my second time to visit, it was a first to see the wonderfully made balloons from being prepared to soaring high in the skies.

To make our weekend in Angeles, Pampanga even more fruitful, we also researched beforehand must visit food establishments. After a two hour travel from Quezon City, we arrived at 25 Seeds, a popular joint by Chef Sau. He is also the man behind Cafe Fleur here.

Our first stop is located at the main streets of the city, and sits in an old ancestral home. 25 Seeds serves world class Kapampangan dishes and other international favorites. Mia and I were both famished, and we rushed to order three entrees right away.

Mia in particular liked the Mushroom Ravioli most despite it being a tad salty. The rich truffle ingredient was very much evident in this Italian creation by Chef Sau.

For meats, we got Baby Back Ribs with Elote and Alaskan Salmon in Cream Sauce. Both were savory but was nothing too remarkable to rave about. The ribs was a bit dry, and the fish lacked more seasoning to give it a heightened taste.

Overall, I find this place one of your go to celebrate special occasions. The restaurant has historical beauty, price points are on the high side and the food has a nice spread of different cuisines.

Going up north once again we ventured along the Heritage District of Angeles... after a truly filling lunch at Nepo Quad, we were supposed to meet my friend's guests at the beautiful Holy Rosary Parish Church for a short walking tour, but since the museum was closed....there was this seemingly white ancestral house calling us from a very walkable distance, only to find out that it was the one we were looking for, the second gastronomic baby of Chef Sau Del Rosario... another unlocked gem of must-try dining destination 'When in Angeles' named 25 Seeds!

I immediately fell in love with the 1900's vintage charm of this now seemingly all-white Dycaico Ancestral Home...same excitement when I first saw his first successful resto, Cafe Fleur....though this time the new cafe in its all-white facade had this towering structure, solomenica-like columns at the porte cochere, sculptured balconies, fluid grillworks ....and I was just drooling at the exteriors....I could also see a vegee farm from a distance...giving you a glimpse of green sustainability :)

The entrance to 25 Seeds brought us to a well preserved staircase with these classic curvilinear grillworks...going up further opens up your eyes to a high ceiling second floor with an open layout dining hall equipped with a central bar...welcoming you with a gorgeous round ancestral table filled with decadent desserts... and since it was too early for dinner, that was the main goal, to try out an afternoon coffee moment!

So we tried their all-star Hummingbird Banana Cake with a cream cheese topping & nuts ( also I suspect a pinch of cinnamon hehehe ) and the perfectly moist and mildly sweet Carrot Cake, matched with a refreshing Ice Blend Cookies & Cream kind of frapuccino...I was just torn between the 2 cakes of which were moist, creamy thick and tasted really spot on with their sweety goodness!

Their gastronomic menu featured innovative menu selections, from Appetizers to the mains all the way down to dessert and drinks. 25 Seeds also features private dining areas having truly wonderful interiors...Filipino Ancestral mixed with Post Industrial Modernity and Chic graphics ..If you loved Cafe Fleur, then surely....this new baby by Chef Sau is truly lovable and worth coming back!

About the price? Fairly pocket friendly prices, you'll be surprised! So check it out on an easy breezy day :)

To top off my super dining experience we had the chance to have a meet and greet moment with The Chef! He told us lotsa stories about the Dycaico Ancestral Home dating back to the early 1900's, which underwent tedious architectural and interior preservation processes :) Of course the most essential part of the conversation was about the heart and soul of 25 Seeds.....aside from being in a famed Heritage district in Angeles, it also features a farm to table concept of bringing you truly healthy & organic cuisine using fresh produce through its self sustainable garden systems, hence they also showed us the garden where all the greens are grown :)

You'll never miss this charming ancestral home, it's near the food hub, Nepo Quad...walkable from Museo Ning Angeles and their local parish the Holy Rosary and the newly restored Pamintuan Mansion which also features historical galleries....

Such a nice hub of culture and cuisine rolled into one 128522128077🏻10084

Try it, you'll....love it! Minus the urban traffic! 128522128077🏻10084
