Quick Persian food fix. Walang Ox Brain, but the Hummus is delish!

Still my second best after Behrouz. I went at 10PM, glad their Ox Brain was still available.

I love this place because it's good food at a very decent price! A pitcher of iced tea for every table is given for free. Awesome.

It was from 2 weeks ago when I visited Ababu again, after a long while.

Way back in college, it only has this outdoor area that can accommodate a little number of groups but now, they already have this air conditioned portion but you have to pay an additional of P8 if you'd want to stay there.

We opted to stay inside and the room's really cool and newly made. The steel chairs went really well with the semi industrial interior look of the place.

I was looking forward to try Ababu's dishes once again so I ordered the Kebab Meal that came with rice, corn, tomatoes and onions plus a glass of iced tea.

When my order came, I was so surprised with how generous the serving of the rice was! It can actually be shared by 2 people but the kebab was quite small.

The dish was just OK. I just hoped that the kebab was juicier and softer. Their signature sauces lacked their usual taste too, so yes, it may take me a while to go back here again.

I'm so disappointed in this place now, the first four times I came here after it was renovated, whenever I would order Ox Brain they would always say they've ran out. Which was fine at first, but then the fifth time? Still none? Ugh. It makes my whole Persian food experience incomplete. So thanks Ababu, the next time I come here and there's still no Ox Brain, would probably be my last.

I was on my way home from school when I realized that I haven't eaten dinner yet so I decided to drop by Ababu and their food didn't disappoint! The Kabab rice meal was really delicious and their food is also inexpensive! But since I ordered for takeout at around 12 MN, their rice was a little bit hard to chew on. Nevertheless, I still like their food hehe

After our workout in Ortigas, my Crossfit mates insisted to try this Persian/Mediterranean food house in Quezon City, and since there was no traffic during that time we went for it.

It was an Al fresco dining area, nothing fancy in here with plastic chairs and plain tables; the customers were mostly college students and who lives nearby so it was noisy and all that, good thing we were seated outside.

My friends ordered Shawarma Rice Meal, Chicken rice meal and I got the Keema rice meal, but since it will take an hour to deliver the Shawarma, they decided to have Beef Kaba rice meal instead. And my two guy friends ordered an ox brain. They said it’s a great pair with the rice meals.

Oh and they offer bottomless iced tea for a cheaper price.

Few moments later, our orders have arrived. My Keema rice meal was so abundant I think that was good enough for sharing. What I got on my plate is a mountain of Keema (Keema or Qeema or Kheema or Morteza is a traditional South Asian meat dish), overflowing rice, tomatoes and an egg on top. All that for less than Php150.00, I say now that is surprisingly cheap. I did enjoy my meal, especially when I tried eating it the ox brain. For those who likes eating a fertilized duck egg (balut), you’ll enjoy this side dish, really perf to their rice meals.

I’ll try the Shawarma rice meals and other rice meals next time. I’d go back here because of their student-rate prices but good comfort food.

Ate here last night. I like the renovations although I missed the Ababu of the good ol' college days. But the food was still awesome and very much sulit. 128518

So it's a Friday night and I took my sister out to dinner. She has never been to Ababu, and neither have I (sober). Lol.

I love how their newly renovated place is so spacious and clean.

Beef Kebeb and unlimited iced tea for 110PHP I think?

Extra Butter...

And Ox Brain for the win of course! 128525

My second favorite Persian place has finally opened their doors again! Yey!

I used to come here all the time. And now they're better than ever! It's not run down anymore, the place looked huge, and the tables and chairs were farther apart and place was spick and span.

The taste? Still better than ever. Unfortunately they ran out of Ox Brain when I got there, but Keema sabed the day! Yey!

I got so surprised when I dropped by last week!! I didn't even know that they had closed for renovations, so I was expecting the same old ababu. It looks so clean now!! Hahaha (not that it was dirty, but gets... LOL) Food tastes exactly the same though - super sulit, yummy Persian food. Oh, di pa bukas when I passed by, but they're planning to open an air conditioned section wherein you have to pay extra to sit there hahaha.

I've heard this place closed temporarily for renovation (it wasn't here when I moved to Xavierville last month) but hey, it's now open! 128522

I have no idea about this Persian joint, but whenever I pass by this place, it's always packed! I got really curious and told my family about it, so last night after we went to St. Luke's, we went here for some midnight munchies. It was 1AM that time and still, the place is packed! 128588🏻

I was supposed to order sharwarma wrap, but they told me they have no pita bread and shawarma anymore. 128557 Meh... Not prepared for the waves pf customers, eh? Lol it's okay, I understand. So no choice I had to order their kebab rice instead. Keema for side dish, liver, and iced tea. Everything is cheap! 128561

The food is tasty. 128076🏼 And yes, freshly cooked even though it was midnight already. 128522 However, the place is an open place and ventilated-- no aircon. They have a small LED TV though, and Insidious was playing when we were there. 128514128123

Price range: P59-150

Lol they by the way they have this sign board for their cr that says "For no. 1, no, 2, and baths". 128514128517

DO NOT EAT HERE unless you want to get food poisoning. You're better off ordering from McDo or Jollibee. It's ALOT better for your health (more cholesterol but at least you dodge a nasty infection) and it'll taste better too.

Ababu's Beef Kebab will always be my favorite among all the Beef kebab's that i have tasted! It's just so flavorful and gooood. 1 is definitely enough to make me full! (But i still ordered two!) Don't judge. Haha. Anyway, I also had a taste of their Shawarma rice because it's what my girlfriend ordered, and for me it was oks naman. Pero damn, it's waaaaay too salty. I don't know kung nasobrahan ba yung salt that time or what. But whatever, i'm still giving it a 5 because of their Beef kebab! 12812910084

(PS. I apologize for the ugly picture :( The lighting was terrible 128542)

This is my go-to place whenever I crave for shawarma rice. Its really cheap compared to others. For 109php, I got this meal with drink. Shawarma wasn't available so I chose Kebab instead. I didn't regret it! Its really good & tasty! I'm salivating just by thinking of it. Their serving is really big!

Its a 'carinderya' type so don't expect it to be sossy. Just enough for the price.
