Wow I didn't know I have a place for Med-Tex-Middle Eastern fix! 128540

I really loooooooooovvvveee shawarmas! 100841008410084️ Well, since I was introduced to it way back in college, there's this certain food stall (Adora's) that serves super budget friendly shawarma, and it's super yum yum yum! Tell me I've been eating it for the whole day (yikes!).

Anyway, I found this place when I searched booky for a shawarma fix (since my fav, tri-mo shawarma co, is too far away) while I was at Maginhawa catching a mid snack-to-dinner thing. And yey! I instantly loved their Chelo Kebab Beef Koobideh! It's worth P165 pero sulit naman.

The interior's kinda cool, doodle art in walls and funny picture statements in frames. Homey I guess. When we got there it's not yet crowded, since it's 5pm pa lang.

Too bad, I only got to try one dish because I was in a hurry. Just to fix my ever growing hungry belly problems 1285409996🏻️

But next time, I gotta make sure to try their sizzling shawarma plates. Hope they're as good as the first dish I ordered.

Went here before 1pm I think and there was only one other customer. I got my order really fast! So impressed. I did not dine in, though. Their kebabs are more spicy than other's, which I'm not too fond of. Their kebabs are also smaller than other's!

My #2 kebab place in Maginhawa.

We went here for lunch. Their kebabs is very affordable and delicious esp with their sauce. The place could be small but it's cute (hehe) and the drawings on their wall looks very cool. 128077🏻

Went their for lunch after roaming around the area looking for something great to eat. The restaurant has some nice artwork as you enter. I tried out their Chelo Kebab Chicken Tikka regular meal which included buttered rice and a grilled tomato, alongside a bottomless glass of iced tea. The meal was great, and I also enjoyed their unlimited rice deal. Overall, it's a good place to try a kebab. Their Wi-Fi connection is also good.

Service: 0/10

Just your average Persian restaurant except they have really bad service and food tastes like 128169

I ordered their beef with hummus and pita bread, because the stupid female owner didnt tell me i could replace pita bread with rice.

When meal came out she told me "oops sorry I forgot to tell you you could replace fried with pita bread". She takes my plate away while I am in the middle of eating fries and she takes away all my fries and comes back with pita bread that tasted like it was pulled out of the oven half done.

If the owner made the mistake of not telling me fries could be replaced by pita bread, she should take responsibility. But no, she decides to take my fries and she will probably re-use them for another unsuspecting customer. Dirty AF 128078🏻 Not coming here again

I took my dad in Maginhawa and we were supposed to eat at Meshwe because we really liked their chicken shawarma but they open really late so I drove around and remembered that I wanted to try Abdul the cool.

Inside you'll be hooked by its cool ambience and quirkiness. Pictures of their kebab and Persian chicken looked appetizing but we were just there for snacks so we got pita and hummus and 2 chicken shawarma. We love the pita and hummus, even my niece ate it and she's a picky eater. For the shawarma, it was decent. It was filled with chunks of chicken but it had strips of cabbage though, which I find it weird. The taste was not so bad especially when you put garlic and hot sauce. The serving size is big enough to make you full. However I prefer Meshwe's shawarma since it tastes more similar to the ones I've been eating in Saudi.

Love the food. Love the people. Love the chill ambience. It's definitely Maginhawa's best-kept secret (so far.) :P

Try a bit of everything! I guarantee satisfaction. :)

Abdul the Cool is your new kind of Persian restaurant. Upon entering the place, you'll know that it might just be this generation's next hang out. With their white wall filled with hand drawn music icons, actors, random cartoons, you'll want to just stand, stare, and forget about the food. No doubt a lot of visitors have taken their time to appreciate said wall and maybe even taken photos with it as their backdrop.

The menu was simple, featuring all your favorite Persian dishes and more - hummus, kebab, shawarma, and a new dish to me, the ox brain. I ordered the Chelo Kebab Beef Koobideh, one of their best sellers so far. The wait for the food was decent, enough time to enjoy few sips of my drink and start a good night of great conversation with my friend.

One thing that always counts in restaurants, especially dishes that come with the viand and the rice, is the setting of the food. My order came in a presentation that totally matched the restaurant - simple, but fun. Two beef kebabs draped with a suggestion of their garlic sauce, two grilled tomatoes on both sides, and rice piled at the end with a slice of butter beautifully melting on top. It wasn't fancy, it wasn't messy, it was just right for a place like Abdul's. The white square plate definitely helped the colors of the food stand out and looked totally photogenic placed on the wooden picnic table.

The juicy beef had the right balance of salt and pepper, giving more room for their homemade garlic sauce. I'm not bluffing. When I eat beef, I want the perfect marriage of salt and pepper. Abdul the Cool definitely gave me that. I was told by the owner later on that their legit Persian chef said that Persian food is all about the sauce more often than not. So together with their sauce, you get the perfect mix of flavors. Add in the sourness of the tomato plus the flavor of butter from the rice, this dish will certainly solve anyone's Persian craving.

After dinner, my friend and I stayed 'til closing. Abdul the Cool has the perfect ambiance to stay and chill, listen to today's underground and mainstream music, meet up with friends after a long day of work or school, and order more great food (my friend ate two of their dishes the entire night).

What makes any restaurant even better? My friend had to use the restroom and she told me afterwards that it was clean and not at all a hassle to use. Always, always a big plus.

The food was totally worth the price and the servers were definitely attentive. Abdul the Cool might be new, but it definitely has enough potential to be your next favorite Maginhawa restaurant. I'm looking forward to going back to satisfy my kebab cravings in the near future and try more of their dishes. Especially that ox brain. I've seen real good reviews on Instagram about that, too. Good job, Abdul!

I tried the Chelo Kebab Special, I had beef and chicken. Both are very juicy which is great since most kebabs around manila are dry and bland. You must try pairing it with their yogurt smoothie. Will I come back? Definitely yes!
