The first time we ate here, mommy and I enjoyed the sinigang and the bamboo rice, so when we were looking for a restaurant where we can eat lunch one Sunday afternoon, I suggested we eat here at Abe.

Abe (ah-beh) is a Capampangan word for friend, companion, and getting together. It is a place for celebrating friendship and the good life through food, art and music. Here, you're sure to enjoy the best Filipino food specifically Capampangan dishes with your family, friends, or loved ones.

I let mommy choose and order for the two of us. She ordered the sinigang, a vegetable dish and Maja Blanca for dessert.

While waiting, we were served with some kropek. It's good that they provide free crackers since service is a bit slow. At least we have something to eat while waiting. The kropek is best enjoyed with some vinegar. Btw, you can ask for refills! Just in case bitin or kulang or if you simply just want more! 128521

After around 20 mins our orders arrived.

KULABASA QUENG GATA (170)
Pumpkin sauteed with pork, shrimps, string beans, tomatoes, and onions. This was surprisingly good - rich and tasty. It's not too creamy and salty. Mommy enjoyed eating this w rice while I ate this with the kropek! 128518 Plus, very sulit for just 170 pesos. 128077🏼

SINIGANG NA BONELESS BANGUS WITH RIPE GUAVA (399)
Not your usual sinigang dish. The sour broth was made with crushed fruit of guava so it was super rich and thick. If you don't like your sinigang too sour and thick, you might not enjoy this one. 128563 For 399, the price is very reasonable since the serving size is big and good for sharing, there were a lot of boneless bangus + belly and vegetables added. Hindi tinipid, at all! 128513128079🏼

MAJA BLANCA (105)
White ground rice cake with sweet young corn cooked in sweet coconut sauce. This was so good! We loved this so much. My mom and I used to make Maja Blanca before because we don't usually like the ones offered in restaurants -- either they're too mushy/soft or too plain or too sweet. And sometimes, they add vanilla. 128529 But this one was creamy and there were a lot of corn inside! And the sweet coconut sauce was so good! It made the dish so much better! 128155 A bit pricey for 105 pesos for a very small plate but it was so good so pwede na! 128518128517

Haven't had Abe's in the longest time. I fact last time I ate here was with my ex gf ( aka my wife)!
Was with the in laws and off course they could not wait. Fortunately Abe's still had some free tables, the reservation was late so the waiter have it to us.
We ordered singing na bangus sa bayabas: not so tart but actually on the sweet side thanks to the guava juice. I was actually impressed.
Crispy pata: holy moly, soft succulent meat with crispy skin, fried garlic and chilies! FTW!
Chicharon bulaklak: father in laws order because he loves the unhealthy stuff
Laing: I love this stuff!
Excellent place ! Still glad the food then is still as good now! Happy Sunday everyone!

This place is perfect for family get together. They serve flavorful dishes like crispy pata, kaldereta, baby squid, lumpiang sariwa, sinigang na baboy, tuna panga and many more. Highly recommended for their delectable filipino cuisine!

After my regular hair spa and treatment last Sunday, my sister and I got super hungry that all we can think of is to eat some real food. Read: lots of rice and viand! Scouting the rows of restos in ATC, Abe passed our selection criteria. Earlier that day, I was craving for Dinuguan that I made my sister (the family’s resident chef!) super guilty for not cooking Dinuguan for me anymore. So we immediately ordered Dinuguan. My sissie wanted the Crispy Shrimps. And I wanted a 3rd dish – Sisig. And then lots of rice.
My sister’s favorite was the Crispy Shrimps. According to her, it was indeed crispy, but somehow retained its juiciness; one can still taste and recognize the shrimp and not the breading that made it crispy. To her, it was just perfect..! As somebody who knows how to cook, I know that I had to agree with my sister. She even promised me that she will cook for me the same crispy shrimp if I be a good sister to her. Ha ha ha ha ha.
The Dinuguan was good, but admittedly, my sister’s Dinuguan is better. The Sisig was also good, but I wasn’t able to really appreciate it because of the other 2 Dishes. I think the Sisig is just not compatible with Dinuguan and Crispy Shrimps.

Clean resto, warm and friendly staff, good customer service. I recommend it to all.

Post Christmas lunch with mommy at Abe. 128513
Eversince, I've always wanted to try Abe but never had the chance to.. So when Mommy asked where we're eating, I suggested we try Abe. We're in ATC so I can suggest any restaurant hihi no carpe diem and mandarin palace here!!! 128588🏼128588🏼

We arrived at around 1130 and there were still a lot of vacant tables. Right timing because come 12nn, lunch time, the place starts to get packed with families ang balikbayans/foreigners having lunch.

We ordered Laing with Tinapa, Sinigang na Bangus Belly sa Guava, and the famous Bamboo Rice.

Service was fast as our orders arrived within 15minutes. We were given crackers (kropek?) while waiting which mommy enjoyed eating.

Everything was goooood especially the sinigang and bamboo rice!!! The sinigang was super maasim but in a good way, it's exactly how we want our sinigang to taste. The bangus belly was huge, I think there's two huge pieces of boneless bangus belly. Ahhhhh, it was really good!! First time seeing ginger added in sinigang but the flavor contributed by the ginger surprisingly matched well and it served its purpose of removing the fishy taste. The bamboo rice was equally good as well. Rice cooked inside a bamboo with shrimps, mushroom and meat. It was very flavorful and addicting. The rice can already be eaten on its own. A must try!!! No wonder why all tables ordered this one! 128076🏼 Laing was just okay and ordinary plus we can't find any tinapa. 128546

Service was just okay. Some servers were rude and mean. But some were nice and helpful. 128527

Fave dish of that day: Baby Squid in Olive Oil! Well, I think that's the name of the dish. Super yummy! Not that flavorful so that you can still appreciate the squid's taste. Kare-Kare was pretty good too though I still like the seafood variant from their sister resto (Fely J's). The tuna dish we had was so-so. Less of the meat

Filipino food had to redeem itself after that horrible experience/food at Neil's. So where do you head back to? Of course, your ever reliable favorite restaurant.128522

We ordered kare-kare, crispy pata, baby squid in olive oil, ginatang kalabasa, binukadkad na plapla and baby squid rice with salted egg. Everything was great, as always. You just know you're in an established restaurant when they consistently serve you quality food. And despite the busy Sunday lunch, they were able to manage the impatient customers waiting in line.1285229786

It was my dad's first visit here (since he's a Chinese food enthusiast/loyalist) and I was happy that he really enjoyed the food this time around.

The only thing that thrilled me about the pinaputok na pla pla is the buro dip served with it. Excellent taste! Specially when eaten with musta sa leaf

Pinoy comfort food at it's best, I always enjoy every single dish here! Their baby squid is so yummy I can't get enough of it with rice. Also tried their version of Lechon Paksiw called "The Day After." It's a bit pricey at P450 an order but you get exactly what you pay for in terms of food quality and service. Their pork Sinigang is also nice and each order good for sharing.

If you're into a Fil-Hispanic type of cuisine, then this is the place for you.

I loved the Lechon Cubano and their version of Gising-gising ... Try their four season shake and Kamias slush.

Today's lunch: Sinuteng Baby Squid, Rellenong Mais, Kulabasa Queng Gata and Rellenong Alimasag 128523

Sinuteng Baby Squid-this was a good starter. The squid was soft and seasoned well.

Rellenong Mais-a bit lacking in taste but a good pair nonetheless to our other dishes.

Kulabasa Queng Gata-I loved this! Really flavorful with all the coconut infused in the dish. This is one of their new dishes that's perfect to be paired with plain rice.

Rellenong Alimasag-also one of their new dishes, this is good too. They didn't scrimp on the crab on this one.

To cap everything off, I had their Four Seasons. Doubles as a drink and dessert 127865

We ordered kare kare, tilapia and shrimp with aligue ng talangka. Mostly I ate the shrimp and it's just not worth the price. 4 pieces of big shrimp for 600? Honestly speaking, my Tita cooked better shrimps with talangka. The sauce was lacking the kick.

The kare kare and tilapia was also just okay for my family members. I wasn't okay with the price though. It's slightly overpriced in my opinion. Might be better if you try some other Filipino restaurant.

For dessert, we tried Sikreto ni Maria. The concoction was innovative but just okay for me.

What I liked about this though was the unli rice. Each customer gets unli rice. I like the ambience. Very classy and Filipino.
