We decided to eat at Abe (the one located in Serendra)

According sa website nila- Abe (ah-beh) is the restaurant dedicated to Larry Cruz’ father, the late artist-writer, gourmet and bon vivant E. Aguilar “Abe” Cruz. The restaurant serves traditional Filipino food, mostly of Capampangan origin, and gourmet dishes inspired by Abe’s travels around the world. At Abe, food is prepared and served with a great deal of love while its concept and design provide the ideal setting for friends and family who wish to dine comfortably and have a good time.

I like this branch more as compared to the one in Solaire. It is quiet, relaxing and very homey.

Food and Price 1108811088110881108811088

We ordered their Sinigang sa Ube. One of their special dishes. It’s pork meat and vegatables simmerred in their special purple yam broth. For P495 it was huge. It’s good for sharing and it’s a good sinigang.

I ordered their Turon A La Mode P150. It has 4 mini torons, vanilla ice cream and caramel. It was good and it was a perfect way to end a meal.

Service 110881108811088

I don’t know if it was a busy day but I have to call their attention several times. One to order the turon, Two for water and Three for the bill. I don’t know if they were undermanned but it’s tiring to call their staff and they ignore you (drama)

5 stars sana but I really hope the service improves 9996🏻

ABE is always at the top of my list whenever i want Authentic Filipino Cuisine. ABE is one of the restaurants of the LJC Group that serves Tradional Filipino food, mostly Kapampangan dishes.

Place?
I'd been in their SM Megamall and Serendra branch and i must say that the atmosphere across two branches were the same. It's light and homey.

Food?
Here are some of my personal favorites:

For small plates, i always order their Sinuteng Baby Squid in Olive Oil and Gambas al Ajillo. You'll never go wrong with seafoods sauteed in Olive oil and Garlic plus White rice. It's a default choice for me.

The Lumpiang Ubod is very fresh and healthy.

The Sisig Pampanga though is a bit disappointment. It was just served on a plate instead of a hot plate. The sisig tastes good but its cold.

For Main Entree,
I like the tradional with a twist Sinigang na Baboy sa Ube. Ube is a perfect contrast to tamarind's sourness. It adds a bit sweetness and texture to the soup and it just tastes right.

We also ordered Pork Humba. It's a Visayan counterpart of the more mainstream Adobo but Humba is sweeter and tastes like Lechong Paksiw.

For dessert, I always order their best seller Sikreto ni Maria. It consist of Suman and Sweet Mangoes under the melted Macapuno Ice Cream. It's so good and very refreshing.

Abe never fails to bring the best of Filipino Cuisines to the table that's why it will always be my favorite Filipino Restaurant. Truly feels and tastes like home.

First time to try it out here, hmmm... maybe as much as my memory could recall. 128522 im with a visitor from au and some colleagues and were looking for a good filipino resto, nearby filipino resto was too much for some of my buddies budget so we end up here and surprisingly the interiors here were much better but onto the food.

We order the ff:
Traditional kare kare - not bad, the usual traditional peanut taste with puso ng saging, oxtail and tripes.

Ube Sinigang - it arouse my curiousity since i was able to try out buko sinigang and i wonder what it taste like, it was the usual sinigang taste but a bit starchy and its good for 6 pax.

Mutton Adobo - like this one, it was very tender with perfect adobo taste.

Bicol Express - lacks spicyness bit very tasty especially the gata.

Watermelon with Ginger - Hmmm... not really my fav in terms of taste but others like it.

I love this resto! We ordered 6 dishes and our bill was less than 3k! My fave was the lechon kawali. So far, it's the best lechon kawali I've tasted! 128525128525128525 I also loved that their sinigang had so much veggies!

This is one of my go-to places for balikbayans and tourist friends visiting Manila. In true Pampangueño fashion, the servings are big in size and taste.
Tips:
1. Reserve a table in advance. The restaurant is full even on a Monday night.
2. Must orders: bamboo rice (the way it is served is an event jn itself), gising-gising, adobado, lechon
The acoustics are good and despite the 'presentation of the bamboo rice' hurrah fills the room, its still easy to hear your companion.

Food was ok except for the fried suman. There was sonething wrong somewhere. The breading they used? The chocolate dip? But the one that really got me was when we were handed the bill. Seriously Abe?!?! P250 for the fried suman? Oh that's waaaaay too overpriced!!!

Lamb adobo with bamboo rice are to die for! Try Sikreto ni Maria for dessert. It's sticky rice with vanilla ice cream, mango and macapuno. Not too sweet, loved it!

Delicious food! :) 4 of us treated our office friends to dinner for our birthdays and the place did not disappoint. The food was great and the staff was very accommodating. Plus points for the server who was really friendly and funny. 128514
