Kapitolyo is definitely a foodie destination with so many restaurants popping out here and there. I was surprised to know that there are around 8 new restaurants that my foodie radar did not sense since my last trip which was just a few weeks ago. And since I would not forgive myself if I let more months pass, I asked my good friend N to move our Teachers Village food trip to Kapitolyo instead and she gladly agreed.

I just had a rather carbohydrates and protein overload from Grande Torino before the start of the food trip and N was worried that I was already stuffed. But I always have room for more good food. So after a bit of brain(tummy)storming, we decided to pay Ace Water Spa a visit. And not to swim but to eat!

The Ace Coffee Lounge is located at the lobby of the hotel/spa with an overview of the water spa. (After seeing the layout, I’m not too confident if I should go there for a swim since I do not want the diners to lose their appetites when they catch a glimpse of me struggle with my floater.)

After a quick browse of the menu, N and I decided to go for the Spinach and Artichoke dip with toasts (I forgot to take note of the price but I think it is around PHP200 as I recall it was really affordable), Hot Fruit Tea (PHP150), and a slice of Strawberry Shortcake (PHP100).

First served was our strawberry shortcake. It was a pretty decent slice and good for two people who had their fill before having this.

I enjoyed the soft chiffon and strawberry bits. I just hoped they used fresh strawberries. (But the best part is the thin jelly layer.)

Next served was the hot fruit tea. I fell in love with the cute glass tea pot. It’s so charming.
I found it to be a bit too sweet though. The taste of orange overpowered the tea. But it was still a pretty good drink especially when the sweetness finally gets diluted after one or two refills of hot water.

Last served was our plate of Spinach and Artichoke dip with toasts. We were surprised with the generous serving. The dip was served warm with slightly stretchy cheese. *yum*

It was definitely a great first stop. N and I both heard great reviews about Ace’s breakfast buffet. I’ll probably give it a go one of these days.

Ace had been our go-to place ever since the family decided to go swimming here every week. Although now we have different schedules, we try to meet up for coffee or Sunday brunch. Today's a special day since it is my aunt's birthday. We had light brunch after swimming and chatted for a while. It was nice catching up with the family. More so if you're eating Tapsilog while laughing at your father's antics.

Even if their buffet size is 5 times smaller than other buffets like vikings/ buffet101(not comparing with hotel buffet bec. of price range) with almost same prize (around 700), this is my fave. Good quality food and service. Love their tepanyaki too. Though im only giving 4 stars today because the breading of camaron is very dry. Haha

Aside from the pampering and relaxing moment you'll enjoy at ACE water spa, I think it's best if you'll follow it up by eating good food that is served in their coffee lounge. The food is very tasty and also at a reasonable price. But all I can say "It's worth it and worth the wait". Co'z it really takes time before they serve their food. I recommend their buffalo wings, grilled pork chop and chicken cordon bleu. Everything is perfect. Next I'll visit ACE I swear I'll try some of their other dishes.

I was totally shocked to see all of the new stuff in Ace! They added new menu items more yunmy stuff in there! The buffet tables looked really nice too! Moreover, they added Wintermelon tea on their drink selection!! I had a healthy and satisfying lunch thanks to Ace! They've improved so much and had promos such as php500 for lunch buffet (applicable to the the swimmers). 128523

Chinese, Japanese and Mexican fare nice combination indeed! After a nice swim at the Ace Spa this is the place to replenish the lost calories.

Big servings but food is not something you would want to try again. I ordered cordon blue with mashed potato and I must warn you, the dryness and blandness of it will haunt you.

We were able to avail the late dinner promo price for buffet and we had a blast. For only 450php you will get the most diverse buffet selection. They have wide variety of food from asian to european.

They got maki, teriyaki, katsu, ramen, tempura and sushi for the japanese section and even shabu-shabu. Roasting section with lamb, pork and beef for sometime they add lechon. Salads, asian appetizers (kimchi is a blast!), pasta, soup, long array of main course, mixed rice, bread and desserts like cakes, tarts and halo halo. A plus for unlimited drinks too.

Not bad for the price!

I love buffets! Ace's selection is not as extensive as other buffets I've been into but their food was great except for the tempura (all flour and tempura batter and small shrimp/prawn). Pricing is reasonable but Ace needs to up their game and offer a more extensive selection if they want to compete with the other buffet restaurants out there.

P.S. Their shabu shabu section is a winner!

Wow that was fast!! This wasn't here yesterday so i requested for it to be added now it's up...time to make a review!!

We had our dinner here the other night, it's actually just my first time to try it but my sister talks about it all the time. Her friend owns the place and she likes the food too.

Not quite sure about the details but there's a brochure on our table that says they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. Didn't remember the rates for their breakfast and lunch but i'm sure it's cheaper. Dinner promo rate is at 715 per head inclusive of vat, regular rate is at 899 +12% vat.

What's unique about their buffet is they have a shabu shabu section, i don't know of any buffet that has that so i think that's good. They also have a grilling station which i loved especially the grilled squid, you have to try that! It's insanely good! They also have steak and pasta which i also liked. I'm actually surprised that everything else was good because my expectations were not that high but i really enjoyed most of the dishes. 128077128077
