It was one of those “slow days” where we didn’t really have solid plans and we just got done with our errands.

MC wanted to go swimming so I was exploring around Looloo looking for a good place but I couldn’t find any. I went on Google and found dozens of places but the thing is - it closes at 5 and it was already 4:30PM. I then stumbled upon Ace Island Resort and it was close by school, so we checked it out.

It’s really easy to miss because it was situated in the most unlikely place. It was behind this building and you wouldn’t think that there would be a swimming pool behind it. We used Waze that time and I kinda panicked when it said “You’ve reached your destination.” but I couldn’t see anything remotely close to a “resort”. Don’t let your eyes deceive you!

The gas boys over at the Gasso Gas Station told us that we were at the right place, that the building right in front of us was the place. I twas kind of dark so we couldn’t see the signage. We went in and wouldn’t you know it, it was right there! Behind the building, a hidden pool.

The entrance fees vary from the time of arrival. If you make it before 6PM you pay P120 for adults and P100 for kids. We got there past 6PM so we paid P150. Not a bad deal considering we could stay there until 2AM. You can also book the entire place for P9,500.

It’s spacious and they had all the necessities - tables, chairs, karaoke machine, grillers, showers, changing rooms, etc. The place was clean and it didn’t look like one of those over-used public pools you’d see around.

They’re also pet friendly, coz we got to bring Dr. Ripples (MC’s 8-month old Beagle) with us.

What I loved about the place is their very accommodating staff. They were super nice and helpful. What’s more amazing about them is their honesty and I truly commend their entire team for that.

MC accidentally left his iPhone by the pool and we went home. The next day he PMed me saying that he doesn’t know where his phone was, and we assumed that it was just probably in my car or somewhere in his house since it was just ringing. After 2 days of searching, I gave up on the hope that it was misplaced that we had plans of having his SIM replaced at Glob. But then I thought of giving Ace a phone call. AND TO MY SURPRISE HIS PHONE WAS STILL THERE! The lady who answered told me that they kept the phone and they were just waiting for us to come back because they didn’t know how to get in touch with us. In this day and age, it’s very rare that you find people like them who would do something so nice. It would’ve been easy to just take the phone and sell it but they didn’t. Kudos on restoring my faith in humanity.
