One of my officemates has been tweeting nonstop about this place where he likes to take his lunch, Adobo Connection. Naturally, I got curious and soon found myself heading over to its branch in Valero. The place is open, 24 hours, bright, with a television, brick walls, and posters that tell the history of this famous Filipino dish.

They offer a variety of adobo-based dishes, there's the classic, the one with coconut milk, you can have it spicy, sweet, with pork, chicken, or both. They also quirky offerings like adobo pao and adobo spaghetti. Aside from the regular drinks they also offer alcoholic beverages.

Mama's Sweet Pork/Mix Adobo is PHP109 for solo and PHP 125 with drinks. I'm not exactly a fan of sweet viands but this one I gotta say, passed to my liking. It's sweet, but it didn't overpower the sour and salty flavor of adobo.

Pork/Mix Adobo sa Gata Solo is PHP119 and with drinks, PHP135. I noticed that the chicken and pork are crisp so most probably they were fried first. Good call 'cause it added texture to the meat and made it more tasty. The shredded chili peppers garnish is a nice touch, I think the spiciness boosted the flavor of the dish.

Already I'm thinking of going back. The food may be inexpensive but it's good and the place looks decent. Now I know why my officemate loves the place.

Ate here lunch last friday. Crowded as expected. Ordered my usual unli rice 1pc adobo chicken meal with gising gising and kropek sides. Chicken part was smaller than my previous visits which was a bit disappointing. I did try their vegetable kare-kare which includes bagoong and wasn't disappointed. I think I'll order this again on my next visit.

The gising gising here is actually one of my favorite snacks! Lately though the quality of their food has decreased greatly. It's as if they don't put salt? Same thing with the adobo flakes and the rice. None of their food has salt. Other than that, it's pretty good! Just add your own salt I guess and all the flavor that should be there will definitely be there!

Chicken was good! Tasted like home cooked adobo. 2 pc adobo with unli rice and drink for 125 php, not bad.

Downside is that its an inuman place, so expect it to be really noisy and rowdy at night. If you are still on your workshift and want to grab a quick peaceful bite this might not be the place to get it.

Also - they have a sign that says 24hrs but I went there one time at 3am, but they were closed. Minus points!

Budget-friendly crispy adobo flakes with egg and plain rice. For 99 pesos, it wasn't that bad, but it tastes better if you upgrade from plain rice to adobo rice.
