Was finally able to avail of my charcoal scrub and massage at aesthetic science. It took a few minutes for me to get through to set an appointment though. However, the receptionist was very nice and accommodating when we were setting our appointment.
Set my appointment for the next day at 10AM. Was walking to the clinic already and at 10:03 they sent me a follow up text which is good. Since it was my first time at their clinic, I had to fill out an info sheet with my medical history, allergies, medications etc. I also had a very short consultation with their in house derma where she briefed me with the procedure and if I felt any itchiness or irritation to inform them right away.
I was led to the treatment room where I changed into disposable underwear and a shower cap. The scrub actually felt quite cool On the skin. They also turned down the AC so you can sweat a little bit, the activated charcoal is supposed to draw out the toxins from your skin. It felt relaxing to be exfoliated and she even put some on my face. After the whole body scrub, it was allowed to rest or settle on my body for about ten minutes. It didn't harden or anything but started to feel sticky. So after ten or so minutes I was allowed to shower off the scrub from my body. Honestly, it was a struggle to shower it all off! Would've been better if they had stronger water pressure on the bathroom. Anyways, they will provide you with another pair of disposable undies and a towel for the massage.
The massage was just ok for me. They used lemongrass oil which smelled quite
Pleasant but the massage itself felt a bit lacking, they weren't able to target all the kinks in my back.
Less one star though cos the place could use an upgrade especially the bathroom (new grout, shower head etc). The walls were also quite thin so I was able to hear all the conversations, consultations and whatnot happening outside.
