A weekend of everything that flies
My family and I celebrated an advance Valentine's Day celebration with a different concept. Done with fancy restaurants so this time I requested that we celebrate it on the last 20th International Hot Air Balloon Festival in Pampanga. The event started last Friday until the 14th (Sunday) Valentine's Day.
We bought the ticket last month at SM Ticketnet for 350 pesos each but you can buy also online or on the day itself at the festival. But because I don't want to run out of tickets so it's better to buy tickets early. We choose the second day, Feb 13 as my kids were so busy with school works.
So last Saturday we woke up at 1:30 am and left our house at 2:30am. I was right to leave early instead of 3am because I assumed that it will be traffic as many travelers will go also to the North to celebrate advance Valentine's Day and I was right .Starting from NLEX there were a huge amount of vehicles already and slowly moving even until we reach the SCTEX, what's wrong with that day!
As I read with some blogs we should get there by 5am and we did. When we arrived at Clark there was a long queue for cars who will park for the event. Glad we found a parking spot right away. It was very cold that early morning and we forgot to bring jackets. Also we wear comfortable kicks as I read na madamo sa area so para di madumihan ang kicks namin and can walk properly.
So we fall in line to the main gate. Super haba ng pila but it's moving. Mas mabilis yung line if you will buy tickets on day itself , baliktad. Lesson learned , now you know. So we walk a bit long till we reach the main area. There were al lot of food establishments and were so hungry as we wasn't able to eat our breakfast coz we don't want to miss the activity.
Before that, I need to take a pee. There were few and disgusting aroma of portable toilets, sa panglalaki na umihi ako sa sobrang haba ng pila , mas mabango pa ang cr ng guys would you believe ? It took us 30 minutes just to go inside .
Then we went straight to food stalls as we were hungry. I had my breakfast at Kenny Rogers, my daughter Adelheid L at bonchon , my son Latrell Joshua L at Jollibee and forgot where hubby bought his food. We just eat for 15 mins then we proceed to the area where the balloons has been setting up.
We waited for 30 mins. We saw how hard to blow one hot air balloon. Then everything was ready to fly one by one, cute hot air balloons like dinosaur , castle , etc. there wee exhibitions also for paragliding. My first time to see a hot air balloon , really happy to experience this with my family. It lasted for about an hour then after the balloons were all up we went to buy some souvenirs like mugs, hot air balloon and even we had an official photo at the hot air balloon. Price ranges from 100-300 pesos depending on size.
Whisk waiting for our official photo, there were also a cute shark cargo Boeing and we were able to have picture taking with some of the cool aircrafts. Really fun to seat at an aircraft like that'.
It was a quick but happy day, we left Clark by 9:30 am as we need to rush home to Manila for my daughter Adelheid L school yearbook pictorial.
A Valentine's Day destination I will never forget , a weekend of everything that flies ️️️️️
