so it's our weekly family dinner and we decided to eat here.

on our way to this restaurant traffic was hell specially when we were near already. good thing was i was able to park in front of the restaurant.

when we entered the place, there were only a few people inside. i told the head waitress that we were four and we were given a table for four. but the table was small and i didn't feel like moving to a bigger table so we settled with it.

first food that came was the sotanghon soup 128077128077128077128077. i asked for calamansi since it didn't come with the soup. if i remember correctly, in the past, the soup always came with a calamansi on the side of the bowl. maybe they're cost cutting. anyway, i squeezed the citrus fruit onto the soup then took out the seeds that fell. the soup was superb. the soup had some short noodles, pork, and atswete. the taste was a bit salty together with sourness from the fruit. one of my cravings was satisfied.

the second food that came was ponchi 128077128077128077128077. it's a type of maki that has vegetables inside. it's topped with lots of japanese mayo and the tiny orange fish eggs. a serving size has 6-pieces. my daughter didn't like it but she still ate the whole piece. wifey got the second piece. i enjoyed every piece left. you may or may not dip it in the soy sauce. another craving satisfied.

next came the pinakbet with bagnet 128077128077128077128077. the bagoong taste was strong. the vegetables were a bit over cooked as they were soft already. i wasn't able to taste the bagnet. too bad for me.

the last one that came was my main course. the 2-piece bone-in chicken barbecue 128077128077128077 with java rice and atsara. since i had pork bbq for lunch, it's time to have chicken bbq for dinner. i requested for 2 pieces of breasts 128513. the chicken was dry and you really need to put the java sauce just to eat it. i was only able to finish half of the chicken and took home the other piece and a half. half a craving satisfied.

dessert was a piece of leche flan 128077128077128077

side note: i think they're really into cost cutting. i have to ask for the bottle of java sauce before they served it. a bottle was used to be found in every table but not tonight though.

It is always a feel good experience everytime I dine in Alex III. One will never go wrong with the boneless chicken barbecue. Tender and moist that goes perfect with the sauce. Its a good thing the sauce is bottomless unlike in its sister restaurant Aristocrat where it already comes in sachets. The pork barbecue is superb as well. Another must try is the lumpiang sariwa. An order comes with 3 lumpias in garlic and peanut sauce. Sulit both in price and taste.

Aristocrat's upscale version. They have Japanese food on the menu.

Sotanghon was too salty. Ordered boneless chicken pero may maliit na buto pa din. Chicken was flavorful pero sobrang liit ng serving para sa presyo nya. My step dad ordered 3pc chicken and he could tell that the meat was old. First time here and will not come back!

Good Filipino food.
Classic
Pricey but worth it
Same menu as aristocrat but better ambience and much more expensive
Their Japanese food is also good
The only thing I don't like here is their Kare-kare

went here last night for a family dinner.

for starters, we had
sotanghon soup .. something was missing. don't know what. but the noodles & meat were sliced perfectly

ponchi .. i haven't had this for awhile. still awesome.

for the main course, i had:
mix boneless chicken and pork bbq .. awesome!! my favorite.

pinakbet sa bagnet .. like what my mom makes. very tasty.

other food we ordered but i wasn't able to taste:
all-prawn tempura with steamed rice and double boneless chicken bbq.

total bill was P2,094.00. not bad for a family of 4.

Pork Bbq was really tender and flavorful. My only comment is that it somehow lacks that smokey flavor. I guess they used an electric griller. Plus points for providing a bottle of their bbq java sauce on the table, unlike in Aristocrat wherein it's in a sachet, so tipid.

Have been comin to this branch for ages and again one of the few diners we go to that have kept their quality as well as their portions that we've come to know of. Not feelin like ordering their famous chicken BBQ, but instead opted for their ox tail & tripe kare-kare and adobo squid. Though, the rice serving is small since we hadda order for a 2nd bowl o' rice, or we're uber hungry last nite. Service's slow that We hadda follow up twice, tho wasn't disappointed when the food came. Tastes sooo like home cooked 128523128077

service was bad tonight maybe worst...

we ordered 2 sotanghon soup and i asked for calamansi. they gave us 1 small calamansi.

the other food we ordered took so long that the table beside us got their order first. we were 5 minutes ahead of them in ordering.

we weren't able to finish some of the chicken bbq, a cup of plain rice and a cup of fried rice. we told them to put them in a doggy bag, when they returned, only the chicken and the plain rice were there. when we complained, initially the female waitress didn't know what to do.

we asked for a receipt and the waiter kind of didn't "hear" me. the attached pic is the first receipt they gave. the BIR should read this.

when we got out of the restaurant, a car was parked behind my car considering the space was for one car. i got out but it was more difficult to maneuver.

so, they all didn't deserve a tip.

On my birthday I treated my family to dinner, here at Alex III. This restaurant happens to be one of my favorites. But now it seems to be getting off my list.

Ever since they have renovated the place, their food also tasted different.

I come here a lot ever since I was a kid. I always remember it tasting better before than now. Yes, place looks new and renovated but ever since they did that the taste of their chicken bbq changed. I don't know why though. Bring the old times back please. Plus before they had two floors.

I ordered the boneless chix bbq, sotanghon and sago't gulaman. The sotanghon tasted the best out of the three especially when you add some calamansi to the soup. Java rice is good as well.

Takes long for your order to come as well..
