My sister's fiancé celebrated his birthday last Sunday. 127881 (Belated happy birthday, Charlie! 127874) Of course, special occasions like this should be celebrated by sharing a good meal with family! 128525

They invited us for dinner at Alfredo's, a steak house that has been around for a couple of decades already. Once you enter the restaurant, you will be greeted with a faux fireplace, and a staircase that will lead you to the seats upstairs.

The restaurant offers buffet meals during Sundays as well, but they opted to order a la carte menu items. Since my mom and I had to drop by Purple Oven to get Charlie a cake, my sister took the liberty of ordering the food for us. She got us a Large Tenderloin Steak (split into two) for sharing.

Before we were served with the star of the show, our server brought us a bowl of clear beef soup each. The broth was packed with a lot of flavor, and was piping hot -- an excellent meal-starter. 128076 Next, our server brought us some warm bread with butter (my mom enjoyed this a lot!!!). We slowly ate this, as the food seemed to be taking quite a while before they are served. Afterwards, a plate of salad was placed before us. The vegetables were fresh, and the thousand island dressing was not too sour. It had the perfect blend for my taste! 128076

After a couple of minutes... We saw our waiter approaching our table with several sizzling plates -- FINALLY! 127830 Each piece of steak was sizzling hot, and it had vegetables and half a potato as sides. The waiter will ask you if you'd like him to pour gravy on your steak -- I did! I made sure to dig in right away, as steaks are best eaten while hot. And boy, I'm not sure what my sister requested for the doneness of the steak, but it was super good! 10024 It was evenly cooked, a bit pinkish in the middle. Juicy, sweet (you know how meats have that distinct sweetness when they're super fresh?), and I'm amazed how they are able to lock in the moisture in the steak. For this alone, I give them 1108811088110881108811088! 128156 And the gravy... Wow. I never had such great tasting gravy in my life!

Ambiance-wise, despite the restaurant having a old-looking interior, it worked to their advantage -- as it added to the rustic and vintage look and feel of Alfredo's. 128076 I hope they can upgrade on their plates, utensils, and table cloths though, they seem to be worn out from their years of service. 128542

Given the above factors, it would have been a sure "I loved it - 1108811088110881108811088" rating for them... But there was something I didn't like about our visit -- the service. 128530 There was something off about how our servers served us the food. I did not feel like the server was happy to serve us. Also, while they seem to have assigned tables to serve per waiter (which is perfectly fine), it is quite annoying that when we request for a water refill, the other waiters will just signal for us to wait. 128530 I find it a bit disrespectful.

Good thing we left with happy tummies as the food is really good, but the service actually ruined my mood. 128531

Before it was a busy Tomas Morato strip it is today, Luigi’s, Mario’s and Alfredo’s was one of the few restaurants here. This restaurant has stood the test of time and has been here for 44 years! The interiors are old and outdated but their steaks and other meats remain sought after.

My business partners and I had an intimate sit down here while reminiscing high school. And yes some work concerns as well. We all had our own personal carnivore picks and each one of us finished it with much satisfaction.

Gravy is their fountain of youth. It’s likely one of their gems for staying around for decades. It has a delicious lingering beefy flavor, smooth and thick. I had this for my Roast Beef Sandwich fix. The beef by the way was unbelievably juicy and tasty.

I also loved the service in this fine dining place. The waiters are not just attentive, they also give nice rapport. One of them even gave us 2 bowls of soup and salad without us asking.

The price points here are steep. It does however justifies why it is one of the Metro’s signature steak hubs.

Steaks are the best and its been my favorite with my dad ,only downside are the waiters , service and the cleanliness, not as clean and service oriented, plates are oily, my glass of water has some foreign particles. Food is the best, service sucks and cleanliness of plates has deteriorated. The waiters will put your salad and bread and drop them on the table like routine tasks for them. Before, they were super friendly and always with a smile and courtesy. I still love their tenderloin steaks the best steak experience even my daughter loves this place. I hope they can improve their service and cleanliness. I asked two three waiters to take my picture and they didnt accomodate me. To think it was my birthday celebration. Lousy service by waiters

Celebrated Mothers Day here in Alfredos Steakhouse. They didn't have reservation thats why we needed to be there very early. We arrived at around 6:30pm and the place was already packed. We were a group of 8pax so we have to wait almost 1.5hrs just to be able to get a table. We have no other option since every resto in QC seems to be jampacked because of MothersDay. Moral lesson next time to get a reservation somewhere during Mothers Day. 128522

For the steak, I ordered peppered steak medium rare. 1st time to order this peppered version of their tenderloin. It was the same juicy delicious thick serving of tenderloin with an added punch of peppercorn. It was delicious the spiciness pepper and crunchiness of it was a nice addition to the tenderloin.128522128077

We've been eyeing this place for a long time and finally decided to try it on Easter Sunday.

We tried the sampler platter with the mini filet mignon which was pretty good. And their nachos, although a bit on the sweet side and needs more cheese, were obliterated by my family.

I decided to get the grilled lamb chops, which I didn't really enjoy. It was crusted, rather breaded, in pepper and it completely masked the taste of the lamb. You can balance the flavor out with their mint gravy, which was okay, but there was no saving my chops 128542

The apple pie I had for dessert redeemed the meal somewhat but it just needs more tang. I tasted a bit from the other desserts and they were all pretty good too.

For the quality of food, however, I don't feel that it's worth the price.

Alfredo's steakhouse is a legend here in QC when it comes to steak. They have been serving great delicious steak since when I was a kid. My father was craving for a steak so he decided to treat us here. The place still maintain that old classic western cowboy vibes to it. The place still look classy and at the sametime nostalgic. The piano is still there just after the stairs but this time there was nobody playing classic music. The old checkered red and white table cloth are still that same non pretentive to modernize.
I ordered their medium rare tenderloin steak that still comes with soup and salad. While they serve us a hot breads that were delicious that we went for another 2 rounds128518. Soup that was serve was a carrot soup. I really love that soup very delicious. For the tenderloin steak it was perfectly cook and I love that their cuts doesn't have that tough to cut tendons. Serving size was also good. Must try also for groups is the onion rings and nachos. The serving size was very big and they were really good.
Overall Alfredo's is still that classic steakhouse that you can't resist to keep on coming back everytime you crave for steak. Pricewise it was a little bit expensive but for the current pricing of steak in other steakhouse their is a little but cheaper. 128521128076

What's not to love about this place?! Tell you all something: when a resto is standing in the same place since the 1970s, it is already an institution. Steaks are great here. Snobs will sneer at the gravy still being served here, I don't 'effin care. Love that they still serve steaks on sizzling plates. The free bread, if you don't exercise restraint, will fill you up by the time they serve your steak. You can request your free salad to have vinaigrette dressing. And their Alfredo's iced tea with crushed ice is second to none. Take a serious look at this institution as we, in our family, repeatedly do.

Had late lunch here and our 3yr old was freaked out by the hanging deer head. Our main course served more than 15minutes (despite having only 2 customers, us and coach Pido Jarencio who seems to be regular). The free bread and butter was surprisingly good (much like House of Minis which was sadly gone from the C5 branch). The sidings of the steak and chicken (wanted fish fillet but was out) was bountiful with veggies, huge grilled corn and mashed potato. Overall, an average place with lackluster service. So many steak places are much better.

Alfredo's is a childhood restaurant. This used to be our staple weekend restaurant. I didn't really appreciate steaks back then - they were hard to chew. I also remember how creepy that dark restaurant was with an old man playing slow piano pieces that made me sleepy. Apparently for adults, that was the definition of romantic. Haha. Went back here a few years ago along with the family and reminisced the days we were always there. Good laughs, good times. Might drop by one time again soon!

The boyfriend and I are big fans of steak, so we decided to try this classic restaurant along Tomas Morato which is known for its steaks for Valentine's. They were offering a limited Valentine's menu which included bread rolls, cream of broccoli soup, salad, a main dish, and mousse for dessert. For our main dish we both chose steaks, but there were other options like chicken, salmon and baby back ribs. The appetizers were nothing special, not bad but not mindblowing either. The steaks were served with mashed potatoes and buttered vegetables on the side; they also didn't really stand out for me. The steak was definitely the star of the show: while a bit dry, it was soft and flavorful. The gravy makes up for the dryness anyway. The dessert was also delicious and it was a good way to end the meal. The service was also quick, but we ate during off-peak hours so that might be a factor. As for the price, it was expensive, but within the range one would expect for a USDA steak within a 3-course meal. It was a nice way to celebrate this not-really-a-holiday all in all.

So we celebrated my brother's birthday here last week.
My mom and I decided to share a caesar salad and tenderloin steak & ribs duo as we just had some milk tea before going there. 128055
They first served the tomato soup (comes with any order of steaks, I think) it was too sour for my liking. Then the salad which is just ok - normal caesar salad. I didn't even bother to try the pasta my mom said it was bland.
The tenderloin steak was dry and a bit hard - I ordered medium well. I'm guessing the steak had been in the freezer for quite a while already and the meat is old. I actually had higher hopes that the steak would be a little better since it is a steak house. Surprisingly, the baby back ribs was good even if it wasn't their specialty. It was tender and I liked the sweet bbq sauce.
All three of my siblings ordered steak a la pobre which they all liked.
Wrong order, maybe I should order that next time 128531

Nothing really special about this place. We had the Steak Duo. I liked the Ribs but I have tasted better steaks. The place is old and so are the waiters. But service was ok. I guess because we had late lunch on a stormy afternoon so there was no other customers but us.

Their Mexican Burger was just ok. The Baby Back Ribs, pwede na.

The place is musty and in dire need of a renovation. Or was this already renovated recently?

And I'm being polite with this review.

P.S. I had the pleasure of meeting a cockroach creeping in my leg while eating. I didn't complain because as I said, I am being polite. Lol.
