"We guarantee you will be able to stand and surf during your first lesson" says their website. It was probably my 10th attempt to stand on the surfboard when I remembered seeing that on the net and told my instructor Kuya Ian "Kuya may refund ba pag 'di ako nakatayo?" He just laughed LOL. I was kind of on the verge of giving up 'cause I couldn't do it, my eyes were stinging 'cause of the salty water and I was bloated from it also. #pikon Seconds later, the picture above happened. TADAAAAA!

I had a great time at Aliya Surf Camp because of a number of reasons. One, we were the only ones there (it was a weekday). Two, the instructors (or at least the one I was assigned to) were really helpful. Kuya Ian was very patient with me. He told me what I was doing wrong, which was very helpful. Plus he was calling me by my name! It was nice hearing "kaya mo yan Em!" (sa bagay 'di naman mahirap kalimutan pangalan ko, iisang letter nga lang pala siya LOL) Three, an hour of surfing costs PHP 350 and that includes the instructor and the surf board. Pwede na! 127940

My only complaint is that they have no decent shower rooms or restrooms for those not staying at their resort or those who are on a day trip to Baler. 128532128530

Of all the choices on their menu, I ordered Spamsilog. What do you expect. Hahaha. I also tried their longganisa and it was good! Staff were nice so plus points. With this view, is it worth the 120php? Hmm ok!

We enjoyed our overnight stay. Nice resort, cozy, good food and with wifi! Rooms were a bit small, but it was clean enough.

Service is a bit slow though.

The picture, was taken during the night. (Haha.) This was aliya surf camp looks at night.

I remember the day, I went here to go surfing. Not the right time to go surfing. -_- During summer, like mid april or may. The waves will be at 3 feet only.

Hoping to come back this ber months. Waves should go as high as 5-6

Rooms are very affordable and clean. Good place to relax, unwind, with a view of the ocean, sunrise and sunset.

The Resto, and Food. Food was so delicious, I didn't have the opportunity to take pictures of the food. Ordered their pizzas, and grilled fish. By the way, if you're having dinner at the resto, you can make a reservation. The pizza was great, it was not oily, and the toppings was perfect. (Anchovis? Or tuna ata) and the fish, was cooked well. Blue marlin.

Their service, it was great. They wouldn't let you down. Haha. They're very attentive and responsive.

Go surfing with a place that's affordable and great at the same time. This is the place for you.

Glad we stayed here during our visit to Baler. Rooms are clean and spacious, food was okay and reasonably priced, ambience was relaxed. :) surfing lesson would cost one just P350 for an hour (that includes an instructor, use of surf board, use of rash guard, a baller, and a sticker). Only downside was that their public comfort room is really, really dirty. Ugh. 128533 but nevertheless, it was definitely a fun and sulit stay! Definitely coming back here when waves get bigger in October! :) 128077127940128076

Clean, spacious rooms and decent bathrooms. Yummy and very affordable food.
Their resto is a nice place to hang out during the day. Sarap to eat while watching the sunrise or the early surfers. 128515

Yes that's me as I stretch my arms and stand on my surf board! My very first surfing experience was here at Baler and at Aliya surf camp.

Board rental is 200php and instructors are paid at 200php so that's a total of 400php per hour but mind you, that's already enough if you're in a stagnant world living with your ass on your couch doing nothing but sitting in front of your computer! Aaahhh! The muscle pain is just so terrible the following morning! I can't stand and walk down the stairs deym!

One thing I noticed is that the instructors are competitive amongst themselves. They try to laugh at each other and make funny jokes when a student surfer cannot stand or cannot sustain the waves. For me I believe of you're a good instructor, you should do everything so that your students who travelled all the way from Manila to Baler with all that rough roads will learn and do not allow them to go back home without even standing on the board. That should be their priority of they really love their work. Minus 1 star for that attitude.

One of the best accommodations you can find in Baler. Surf lessons and surf boad rentals are available on the Hut right beside their beach front Cafe/restaurant. If you prefer just chilling by the beach there are several lounge areas in front of the hotel where you have a clear view of the sea.

In my previous review, I said I'd stay here again on my next surf trip! So I'm back with a different set of friends! We got the room for 7 and 3 people. Still clean, spacious and decent bathrooms.

Had lunch here today, service was kind of slow. Food was okay. Four pieces of buttered chicken with veggies is sulit for P180.
Grilled fish is better than the grilled liempo.
Lechon kawali is crispy, but fatty.
Don't order the beef steak.
And my friends asked me to add that brewed coffee is sour.

Since I really like doing some explorations and adventures, I tried surfing with my college buddies and it was really fun and adventurous one. You getter stretch your muscles first before trying to prevent body ache. ;)

While in Baler, this is hands down my favorite place to surf out of. ...And, they have a new chef from Manila working over the menu -Crabs in garlic sauce were exactly what I needed after 3 hours in the water :) can't wait to go back.

Went to Baler to surf for the weekend! Fun, fun, fun!

We stayed in Aliya Surf Camp. The family room is good for 7 people. Room is spacious and clean. Bathroom is pretty decent too.

Beach and surfing area is just in front of the resort. Locals who taught us how to surf were friendly and very motivating. I needed encouragement after falling and inhaling a lot of salt water!

There was a wedding reception right outside our room the night we stayed. Felt funny when I opened the door wearing a towel on my head with people wearing formal attire around me.

I'd stay here again on my next surf trip!
