Since we thoroughly enjoyed our last experience at Amare la Cucina, decided to go back this time around. It was actually very near our hotel (you can walk) but it was raining so we decided to just bring a car. Arrived for early dinner around 630 and the place was already pretty full. Opted for an outside table cos it felt a little stuffy inside.
Got two pizzas - the Alvin's special and white pizza. Got the orzo again and an order of their Pollo something salad. Servers were nice and attentive. Food arrived quickly and it was great as expected. My mom and sister loved it too! I think we finished almost everything we ordered hehe! We kept on checking the other tables for their orders and the ribs looked good! Might try that next time 128522

Visited this much talked about resto for lunch. The place is situated inside a building, not too far from Wright park where visitors do some horse back riding. We had a late lunch so the place was not packed. We were promptly seated. To the left of the entrance is a brick oven where pizzas are cooked.

We ordered the following:

MARIANNE'S SPECIAL SALAD Php 325
It is a vegetable salad with arugula leaves, caramelized walnut and dried tomatoes, topped with their special dressing.128077128079🙂

FOIE GRAS PIZZA Php 580
a thin crust pizza with mozzarella, basil, white truffle oil and bits of duck liver ( foie gras ). The pizza taste good but I was looking for more pieces of duck liver to fully enjoy the taste. 🙂

FRUTTI DI MARE PASTA Php 340
Pasta with mixed seafood, ( 3 pcs of shrimps, slices of calamari etc ) with plum tomato sauce, garlic, olive oil, and splash of white wine. 128079128079128077

This place has been visited by celebrities as seen on the plates with their signatures that adorned the walls. You can also make your own pizza, which they encourage their guest to do. Toilets, essential for travellers are fresh and clean.🙂

The food we ordered was shared by 4 pax.

White Pizza. Mozzarella, bacon, garlic, and olive oil as base. We were given the liberty to make our own pizza! The staff taught us how to toss and spin the dough. After a few unsuccessful attempts (lol), he proceeded to do the rest then made us put the toppings next. Afterwards, we had a photo op with the fruit of our 30% labor before we proceeded to put it in the brick oven. It was a fun experience. Taste-wise, the pizza was okay.

We also ordered Arrabiata pasta and wood fried ribs. You can skip the ribs but we immensely enjoyed the pasta. Not too sour or salty and with just the right amount of kick. Serving size is probably good for two to three people. And oh, do try their Americano.

Overall, I had a great time dining here. Value for money and decent Italian grub.

PSA They sell wine by the glass for 130php only. Relatively cheap compared to other restaurants.

So happy to finally try this place out! We were supposed to go last year but since it was new years eve, they were closed. Went on the first day of 2018 and our first lunch of the year was amazzzee!
It's located in Albergo Hotel so there is ample parking space in the basement. The interiors are a bit dark for a more homey feel I'm guessing and you can see their 'pugon' or brick fire oven upon entering. We were seated right away and proceeded to study their menu.
We were still a bit full from the Camote pie at Arca's and the strawberry taho we had at mines view so we just opted to share a pizza and a pasta dish. After perusing the menu we decided on the Alvin's Special which is served with special sauce and bacon and a serving of Orzo. I hardly see Orzo in menus here so we decided to get that as well. I also got a te freddo menthe.
The pizza arrived first and it was soooo good! Glad we got this flavor instead of the more common ones. The special sauce is quite similar to pesto and it went very well with the bacon. The Orzo arrived and I was so glad we got it! I've only tried it once before and their version is really good, garlicky, tasty and not starchy! The te freddo complemented the meal perfectly.
Definitely a must go in Baguio, now I know why it always tops must go to lists!

Oh my, the food we ordered here was a disappointment. It was recommended by the waitress, said they were the best sellers. The foie gras pizza with extra mushrooms, salad and mint iced tea were all tasteless! We had to put salt in their pizza. Would have been happier if i had the scallops pizza of Shakeys. I wonder why the high rating? Or did we just order the wrong food?

Before heading back to Manila, we stopped by Amare La Cucina for lunch. This place has received awesome reviews for their pizza so we had to get some for ourselves. It’s located at the ground floor of a hotel. It wasn’t difficult to find but the hotel itself looked a bit run down so don’t be put off - the restaurant itself isn’t bad. The place’s interiors are simple and straightforward, I found it a bit dark so it might be a little difficult to take pretty pizza photos.

Their pizza’s serving size is great for sharing. In our case, we ordered two to share amongst a group of four people and we wanted to be able to try more than one variant. Their pizzas range from around 300 to 400 PHP which isn’t bad at all. We tried their margherita and sausage pepperoni mushroom pizzas. Both kinds were good! The food wasn’t mind-blowing good but it was great enough not to make us regret passing by before heading back to Manila.

Another thing we liked about Amare La Cucina is that they serve beer from the Baguio Craft Brewery! This was something that we weren’t able to fit into our itinerary so it was cool that we still got to try it over lunch. We had their strawberry beer and it was really good!

Overall, I’d be willing to go back to try their other pizza variants but I hope that they’re able to transfer to a better location soon!

If I were to choose and decide, I would not be recommending Amare for dinner. They serve pretty good pizza but I don't think there's anything special. 🤔 But because the pictures online were all so tempting, my companions suggested we have dinner here and try the pizza. Oh well. 🙄

We ordered one ARRABIATTA PIZZA aka the Spicy Bacon Pizza. Our server asked if we want it chewy or charred, we all agreed we want it "charred". After a couple of minutes, our pizza was served. We all got one slice and tasted it...... "bat di crispy?". "Ganito ba yung "charred"? Sadly, ours was not "charred" enough, no burnt nor crispy edges. It was actually the normal chewy pizza. Was supposed to ask them to cook the pizza more but we already consumed almost half of it. 128549 As for the taste, I still have the same feeling.. good but nothing special. They liked it, though. Well, mainly because of the generous amount of crispy bacon added on top! 128069

Service was just okay. Kind of slow. Place was full so we had a hard time calling them whenever we need anything.

If you're a pizza lover, you may want to try this place out. A lot of people are raving about them and Amare is named as the "best pizza place" in Baguio.

This Ala Sardines Pasta right here is from Amare La Cucina, an Italian restaurant in Baguio famous for their wood-fired brick oven pizzas. It was damn good! It was served al dente just the way I like it, perfectly
seasoned plus the extra kick hit the spot. It is a bit pricey but you will definitely get what you paid for. I highly recommend Amare if you want some authentic Italian dishes.
I tried other dishes ordered by my friends as well, and everything was good. 128077🏻
Another place to visit when coming to Baguio. 10084

A lot of people are saying that Amare serves the best brick oven pizza in Baguio. With so many positive reviews, I made sure that we visit this place before we go home. Being a popular restaurant, it was not a surprise that the place was full when we arrived at around 6pm. We had to wait for almost 30 minutes before we were able to secure a table.

Place is just simple. Just like a "cafeteria" with simple wooden tables/chairs inside and plastic tables/chairs outside. The only thing "special" about the place is the brick oven area where you see the process of preparing the pizza, flipping the pizza dough in the air, and cooking the pizza inside the brick oven. If you want, you can go closer and watch them. I think you can also ask them if you can try preparing your own pizza. 128521

Anyway, since we're still kind of full from our merienda, we just ordered one meaty something pizza (w sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom) and an order of the pesto pasta. Hmmm, both were just okay. Yes, good but nothing extraordinary. I guess we weren't just as pleased and as happy. 128563 Oh well, at least now we know.

Will I comeback? Maybe, but not anytime soon. I still have a long list of must try restaurants here in Baguio. 128541

Btw, this is located inside the EGI Bldg. Best to use waze in locating this place.

Googled places to eat in Baguio and Amare came up way too many times for me to ignore. With only one night in Baguio, I wanted to try something new..and great...and Amare did not disappoint!

Was wise enough to Waze the place and get there for an early dinner. Doubted at first that we were at the right place because the resto was inside a bldg. and there was no big sign that it actually existed save for a small tarp standee by the entrance.

Dinner was superb! Kids were asked if they wanted to help make the pizza we ordered. Their carbonara is to die for! A definite must try along with their pugon baked pizza. Definitely worth the trip!

At 3pm, there were people dining, so the food must be good. We ordered gambas pasta (tomato base), it was ok. We asked for parmesan cheese and they charged us 50.0 for it. Then we also had three cheese pizza, that was a better experience.

If you're ever in Baguio you should definitely check this place out, this is a must.

It was around the christmas and new year so the restaurant was full non stop in working time. I tried almost full of the menu dishes especially all their pasta dishes and all I can say is that it's very authentic and is always freshly made. Ragu Bolognese and Ala Carbonara are my favourite. I was happy everytime i tried their mouthwatering pizzas too.. Best pizza in Baguio! The service was great in my opinion. Staff are always warm and friendly everytime I eat here..

Had the carbonara pasta but the dish tasted like rancid dairy (panis na gatas). Eggs, wine, shallots, garlic and fresh Parmesan - so why did the dish taste like bad milk? Had the dish sent back to the kitchen, apparently they did "quality control" (as the server said) and confirmed their carbonara taste like bad milk. Oh and yeah, we did pay for the pasta. They don't allow cancelations for bad tasting food, or rancid tasting carbonara dish to be exact! Will never eat here again.

Food is overhyped.

This restaurant was ordinaly restaurant. but staffs were GOOD. We ate Ala Gamberi ,Pesto , Con Funghi and other spaghetti. We were expecting Al Dente for spaghetti but It was bit soft. and pizza was bit weak taste. we compare to Italian restaurant in Japan so It was little lower quality than that. The price is overpriced too.
