Aww so sad to see bad reviews and experiences from looloozens about Ambos Mundos... Well much have been said how classic it is, in fact even our National Hero even dined here during the time he was studying... For me though Manila is a unique, eclectic city... It's not Manila without the grime, hehehe and the black pot belly piggy at the front entrance is situated there actually to draw in good luck
I was in a walking tour group when we decided to have a foodtrip here, well no denying about the food prices, but the foodies that we got were mostly of course for sharing and the second floor has airconditioning
Our tourguide ordered foodie items which would easily capture the filipino taste, so we got the famous yang chow rice, pork asado which was mmmm overflowing with its yummy sauce ️🏻 chopsuey vegees and nido soup with quail eggs 🏻️
Luckily no sightings of cockroach or hopping rats at that time, hehehe and when I got home there was no violent reaction from my tummy hehehe so overall I had a great foodie experience at Ambos Mundos 🏻️
SunWah which is across is its sister resto so if you would notice the menus are most likely the same

I read about this place on the newspaper a long time ago. They are famous for their pet. Baboy damo pet! Haha :) Cute fat piggies!
Food was ok. Tasty. But serving size too small. The place is not also air conditioned so just imagine the perspiration we had during our lunch. They could use more electric fans!
Sinigang na Bangus
Single order of rice is good for two so easy on the rice if you're on a diet. :)

The only remaining reminder in Chinatown that Spain was here lol. It's a hidden gem of mine. The pigs at the front door are always a welcome sight. It's a tad more expensive but it's ok. Try their bicol express, lamb dishes, paella etc.
Just be prepared, no aircon and dont order their "special" sugpo which is around 430 for 4 small shrimps.

Ambos Mundos is considered the Oldest Restaurant in the Country, from the Original Its Original Site in Plaza Santa Cruz it has now transferred to its present location.
Our first visit to Ambos Mundos was several years ago and the food was still good but lately the taste has changed, the ambience of the restaurant is still the same but there is a feeling that is slimy, a feeling that hygiene is not on the top of its priorities. Prices are also inflated.
In its Prime, Ambos Mundos was famous. Now, none of its glory is left and to reclaim that lost glory. A total reinvention is needed.
