I'm back in Benguet for the second time for another adventure. I got invited to establish the new trail of Ampucao Seven Peaks Traverse ft. PhilEx Ridge...Yeah, That's seven Peaks with a total distance of 12.93 Kilometers. We started trekking at Brgy.Sante Fe coz the original jump off starts 800 meters away from the Barangay Hall. The first part of the trail is paahon agad. It was raining so the trail was so slippery.. we wanted to rest pa sana and wait for the rain to stop but we also our I.T so we had no choice but to keep moving. We had an E- Camp near the house of the locals kasi we were running out of time. Tour guides didn't allow us to go on a night a trek kasi delikado na. I had a chance to talk with one of the tour guides, He said that the word "Ampucao" means madami ligaw.

On the second day, we woke up at 4 Am to cooked for breakfast and to set off our tents and gears too. Benguet is known for its very cold weather nadala na ako nung una so I bought thermal jacket. We started trekking going to Mt.Ulap at around 5:30 AM. Getting there, we passed the fine forest then the grassy part that is similar to the Rolling Hills of Batanes. The ridge is said to have 7 mountain peaks and the highest of them all is called Mount Ulap. “Ulap” in the vernacular means clouds so I am guessing that it is named as such because clouds would usually float around the area (as seen on the photo) Once at the summit, view from here is 360 degrees where once gets to see a bird's eyeview of Baguio,Binga Dam,Mt.Ugo and the rest of Itogon and Tuba town. There are too many rock formations here and of which is the "Ambanao Paoay or Hanging Rocks". No, they are not suspended rocks on air. The claimed name is actually misleading as the rocks are built on top of each other forming a totem like structure. However, if the fog or clouds start to set in, these rocks may look as if they are hanging.

The place is really is perfect for those who love to hike. My experience here was priceless kahet na sobrang pagod mo mawawala kasi kahet san ka lumingon worth it. By the way, the new trail will be opened on Oct.30,2015..the inauguration day of the place. I wanted to post the mummy cave too but they told me not to post it muna antayin daw muna matapos ang inauguration day pero kakaiba sya sa lahat.
