Upon docking on the port of Bantayan island after a six hour trip all the way from Oslob, my boyfriend and I were greeted by the breathtaking candy-colored skies the sunset played out for us (during our stay in Anika, we realized that this island was blessed with such a sightful delight on a regular basis). We were then immediately greeted and escorted by the very friendly resort driver who had been waiting for us to arrive all day. Once we got to the resort itself, it was already dark but the staff greeted us so warmly then we were escorted to our ocean-view room. The room was spacious and spotless. It really did feel like a home away from home. In the morning we woke up to the most perfect weather. This resorts spot on the beach was not very far from the dock, although the waters were as clear as crystal and the sand was very fine. Practically spent all day swimming in a beach that seemed like it was entirely ours (few guests). One of the highlights of this resort is their food. Their servings were super generous and the taste (particularly of their danggit and liempo-- and take note: I loathe pork) were something that still has me drooling until now. Oh, and their service was absolutely commendable! We had so many needs but they were able to attend to each and every one. Based on this experience I can honestly declare that no matter how many days anyone will book in this resort, it will never be quite enough. I can't wait to go back home 10084127757127754

Follow me to the open sea
To the edge of the world
Come with me

Of all the places I've been to, my vacation at Bantayan Island would be the most relax, less activity and less adventure despite the 5-hour travel from Cebu City. I went here with my buddies Kat and Jaizen last septemeber and did enjoyed every moment of it.

We stayed at Kota Beach Resort on our first night and here at Anika Beach Resort the next day. They have good facilities, nice and clean rooms and beach is just a walk away from there. They also have a cafe/resto but it's expensive. Free wifi service on the reception area. Staff are friendly and accomodating.

I still prefer staying at Kota Beach Resort coz the beach front is the best, less crowded and more accesible going to the town if where restos are located.

Both Kota and Anika offers free shuttle transfer from and going to the port.

* Be local. Rent a bike 150/day. It's more fun and more tipid than riding a tricycle everytime you go out. 128513

********
- Take a cab from Mactan International Airport to Cebu North Terminal (150-200php) 5-15 minutes ride
- Ride a Ceres Bus going to Hagnaya Port (200-300 php) 3-4 hours
- Boat ride from Hagnaya Port to Sta. Fe Resort takes 1 hour travel for 120-150php
- Sta. Fe Port to your destination, most Resorts offer free shuttle or you can ride a tricycle from there.

If you want to see the beautiful Bantayan Island, you have to take a 3 hours drive from Mactan airport to Hagnaya Port. I recommend you rent a driver for your whole trip in Cebu as this will save your time and energy. From Hagnaya Port, you’ll have to take a ferry or “lansta” to Sta. Fe and that trip can take up to 2 hours depending on the sea waves. Btw, Cebu is an open sea, so I strongly advise you visit Bantayan Island in summer and never on rainy days. We went here July last year and we encountered (you can’t imagine) big waves!

We stayed at Anika Resort and we really had a great stay. Staff and even the locals were so accommodating. We had our sumptuous lunch that day because of Ate’s luto. We bought her crabs and lobster for only 400.00 pesos, including the cooking charge. Don't forget to try Anika's fruit juice pitcher.

Bantayan Island is truly a Paradise. It is one of God’s greatest creations and really worth a visit. We are so lucky and blessed that we were able to celebrate our 7th year anniversary and 1st day as H&W here.

Will definitely come back here. 128077128077128077

Travelling here from Cebu City will take about 5 hours...

But hey, 5 hours was worth the wait! This is where we tasted the best baked scallops in town!

Anyhow, we stayed here for only 1 night and I know it's bitin :(

Rooms are nice and clean and it's beachfront. Staffs are very friendly as well.

Went September 2014. Beachfront resort. Wifi. Very private location.

🚫 Don't order their breakast sausage. Tasted like canned sausage. Not sulit.

My family stayed here last April. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good food, affordable rates, quiet beachfront. The beach is just 10 steps away from your cottage! What more can you ask for? :)

My family and I went there for Labor day weekend and we had such a great time! Rooms are relatively affordable, but if you can, get the ocean view rooms at 3k a night (3 pax)- you won't regret it! There's nothing like waking up to such a beautiful view of the ocean. Rooms are new and well-kept. The beach is perfect- white sand and clear blue waters. The only downside for me is the food in the resort's restaurant- quite pricey for the quality of food that you get. But that isn't a deal-breaker as there are a lot of restaurants in Bantayan which serve really good food :) If you have a day to spare, take a bangka trip (700 php for the boat) to the Virgin Island- it's worth it! Don't forget to bring your sunblock and snorkeling gear :)

1 hour by plane, 3 hours by bus, another hour by boat. Service is excellent, from the moment they picked us up at the port to the way they serve the food.

Bantayan Island is the anti-Boracay--serene; no crowds, no vendors.

The beach is perfect. White sands, clear water.

Who would not love this fresh baked scallops besides the beach?

Celebrated our 4th anniversary and we chose to stay here in Bantayan Island Cebu.

Not a fan of cheesy sea foods but when I tasted this one, felt just like heaven!

And I can say this one's aphrodisiac too! Just saying. Haha :)

Cozy rooms made from container vans! My family and I stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. I find the resort the best in the right side area of the island(facing the port from the sea) Though near the port, water is clear, sand is white and with a lot starfish to play with.

The resort faces the east thus has best view of the sunrise.

Their restaurant has the best meals but for breakfast, there's still room for improvement.

Service wise, they have a van that will pick you up to and from the port. They don't have telephones in the rooms to ring the front desk for your wants and needs but that's ok. The resort is not that big to go to the reception area.

Wifi is only available in the reception area.

By the way, there's no souvenir shop in resort nor in the town.

To cut it short, we enjoyed our stay in the island!

This unique resort have rooms made from container vans. Accommodation rates range from 1500php for a really small cube good for 2pax to 3000php for the ocean view rooms. It's the newest resort in Bantayan, they say.

Loved: high thread count sheets & soft fluffly pillows and best beach front

disappointment: limited food choices at the restaurant. If food was superb, I wouldn't leave the resort anymore!
