Anya Resort in Tagaytay is a gem that you’d rather have for yourself. It’s location is not the conventional overlooking Taal but rather a seemingly quiet farm that tucks you away from the hustle of Tagaytay traffic.
What welcomes you is an open spaced lobby. Though their front desk is tuck behind and is small, but their staffs would welcome you nicely and hand you a hot face towel. They have a golf cart that would drop you off to your villa. There are around 11-12 villas around with 8 rooms on each. We had ours at Villa 7 which is the most ideal as it is near the pool area and even the lobby. Highly recommended for those with senior citizen companions. We reserved three rooms; two king room and one twin room. Upon check in at 2:30pm, two rooms are already available. And the rooms are spacious! Goodness. I cannot explain how much I adore their bathroom. It’s probably weird for some but bathrooms are kind of my fetish so it has to be good! And it was! You’ve got a big shower and bath tub. A separate one for the toilet bowl. And two sinks and mirror for your vanity needs!! Awesomeee Complimentary coffee inside the room is also not your usual 3-in-1 nor a nespresso as what hotels in the Metro would have. But rather your brewed coffee on your own french press. There’s also complimentarg banana and seasonal fruits which in our case is lanzones. The bed is comfortable and white clean linens that tops it of. They also have a big sofa at the side for your guests. Wifi is also available all over the area. Overall, the check in and the room are fantastic.
However, we had a problem! It’s almost 5pm when the other room was prepared. We’ve been following up every 30 mins after 3:30pm since it’s already an inconvenience. We’re paying for a 22 hour stay and yet we barely maximized it. The front desk wasn’t entirely helpful either as they cannot give us an update. The other room is just beside us and we noticed how long the housekeeping had to cleaned up the entire place. We even caught them chatting. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against chatting or laughing or pausing at work every once in a while. But the staffs should be professional about it. Time is ticking and it’s getting late and no urgency thus far? That leads me to question the training they get.
Anyhow their Resident Manager Noli approached me asking for forgiveness for the inconvenience and offered a late check out because of how the situation went. But since we’re on a tight schedule and we honestly don’t want to face the afternoon rush hour in Tagaytay back to Manila, we had to turn it down. He insists on offering a complimentary lunch instead which we agreed with. Noli was helpful, and I had go directly addressed with him even a technical problem with the cable box. He responded to it, but the cable box needs to be change and unfortunately, it’s just gonna be too late for us to use it so I hope the next guest didn’t have the same problem.
The complimentary breakfast was great! With different option to choose from, but sadly no bacon. Haha. All else was good! And we enjoyed it. The rest will be on another review but it was good! Really ️
They also have a gym which is temporarily at the Villa 10. It was functional though small. They even have a granola bar after your workout. Yummm!!! A small but very interesting library is available at the 2nd floor. Very instagrammable. There’s also a film showing during evening at the 2nd floor as well. The pool area is nice and relaxing. The temperature is adjusted. It’s a little warmer on night time but cold during the day.
Overall, Anya is a great place to stay. It’s relaxing and peaceful. It gives you a really nice vibe of calmness.
