I love how Apartment 1B is always so consistent with their food and service. I eat regularly here but I only discovered recently that they're famous for their vanilla frozen pie. I tried it and it was amazing! vanilla ice cream, oreo crust & walnuts drizzled with chocolate/caramel sauce! What more could u ask for?!

Yes I know, Rodney where have you been? We've missed you etc! Well I'm back - this time at an old (previous) favourite - sadly, however, things have gone awry
Yup you can still get your fill of beagle walking Shitzu carrying mummy's at Rockwells ever more exclusive enclave But! What's happened to the menu and especially the prices?
In a nutshell
Menu - shrunk
Prices - what's the opposite of shrunk?
Two crab cakes for 350 pesos
Steak frites for 3300+
Oh dear 128534
Quality still good
Service friendly
Value plummeted

Not the most photogenic in the group but this one's mine and I loved it!! Hahaha 1285139786

The serving's pretty huge so I suggest you order this during lunch. Best paired with a refreshing drink. After eating this you wouldn't dare look at the dessert menu and would order a hot tea to kinda sorta feel a little light after haha.

I'd love to go back soooooon! The service is also pretty good btw 128521

Late dinner after attending a house blessing in Lipa. Initially wanted to go to BGC, I don't know why we ended up in Rockwell.

Apartment 1b is really known for their Frozen Pie, but we had to eat something first!

CORN CHOWDER (P190)-- this one is so good and very filling! Very generous serving of corn, bacon, and potatoes!

GRILLED PORK CHOPS (P530)-- a bit pale, but the flavor is there! It comes with Applesauce, garlic mashed potatoes, sauteed vegetables. Serving was very generous, I couldn't finish the 2 slices! Had to give my brother the other slice. The applesauce surprisingly worked well with the pork chop. Or maybe it's just me who likes apples.

GARLIC SHRIMPS (P660) -- price is a bit steep, but it's really good.

SKIP the following: Buffalo Wings, Nachos.

BUT don't forget to get their FROZEN PIE. Everybody loved it!

Going back to try their Eggs Ben soon!

Excellent service, good food. Shown here is my staple: their yummy meatloaf. Also had a bite of my daughter's pork chops and they were delectable as well. 128077 Always a pleasure to dine here or at the original branch.

I'm a big fan of the original branch, so while in Rockwell recently, my friend and I decided to try this branch.

This Rockwell branch has a homey vibe with an open kitchen. As usual, servers are polite and knowledgeable. Finished a bottle of white and ordered their chili while my friend ordered their popcorn. The popcorn came in a huge bowl which was perfect for making chismis on a weekday afternoon. Yes, titang-Tita na talaga. #titasofmanila

They always recommend the meatloaf on your first visit which I Never really understood. If you really want to have a spectacular or at least memorable experience in this resto... Come prepared with an empty growling stomach and about 3-4k budget or bring a friend who can split the meal and the cost wit you. I've been here a couple of times, both rockwell and salcedo branches, and tried a couple (not all) of their dishes and so far these are the ones that made a good strong impression:

Starters- truffle popcorn or baked samosas
Main- steak.
Dessert - frozen pie

Everything else in their menu (that I've tried) tastes generic. The pasta, the meatloaf, the fish dish, etc. are nothing special and too pricey for the quality. But those three dishes make this place...something else.

P.s. Photo attached is their spaghetti vongole. My latest purchase. It was.. Ok.

Long delayed post. I has their Spaghetti Vongole and Caesar Salad. Both were good, although not really that exceptionally good kind of way. Ambience is okay too.

We went apartment 1b to have bonding time with my family. Well the place is quite small but has great ambiance. The place is clean and quiet. And also they buttons to call their waiter. The waiter is attentive when it comes to your request and very knowledgable. I ordered the ribs and it is delicious and also soft. I like there ribs. I also ordered chicken wings, its also delicious but kinda expensive. The preparation of food is kinda slow. It took around 25 mins to serve the food.

Cozy and homey interiors and the excellent service that makes one feel so at home. It is an elegant yet casual and comfortable restaurant.

As soon as we sat down, our server came and took our orders. The staff are all friendly which makes the dining experience more pleasurable.

Baked Samosas
were made of mushrooms, spinach and cheese in filo pastry. First bite of the samosas and it was like heaven! Spell comfort food. The thin filo pastry was baked in perfection and the spinach and cheese were sooooo good. Too bad it was only 4 pieces, but for Php 350, it was worth it!

Grilled Blue Marlin (Php 650)
topped with chorizo tomato relish and was served with pesto pasta. The marlin was perfectly grilled. It retained its freshness and tenderness and was not dry. The chorizo tomato relish was an excellent accent to the marlin. The pesto pasta not bad, but compared to all the dishes we sampled, it tasted ordinary.

Baby Back Ribs (Php 630)
on Honey Bourbon marinade, potato pancakes and sauteed vegetables. Melt in your mouth ribs. The meat was tender and really tasty. It was also served with a generous serving of really good mashed potatoes topped with corn and infused garlic bits. Awesome marinade. Winner!

The menu may be expensive but the quality of the food ingredients is well worth it. The simple prepared dishes is consistent with outstanding tastes and presentations.

We still have to try their breakfast menu on our next visit which I heard is really good!

you know what some say about absence making the heart grow fonder? i think whoever said that was really talking about food cravings. if you're drawn to apartment 1b for some reason and you have to eat there, let it be the three-cheese lasagna. easily one of the best things on the menu and done consistently. my eyes always wander to the croque madame description on the pages but i can't get myself to shell out the 600. this is truly a matter of endurance. i'm bound to lose and give in at some point, it is inevitable, but it will be fun to see for how long (or short..) i can hold out.

Croque madame at Apartment 1b was delicious. It came with blue cheese, ham and a sunny side up on top, and salad greens and potato wedges on the side. It was actually a very heavy meal. I was struggling to finish it. Apartment 1b serves all day breakfast, pasta, steaks, etc. in a nice classy cozy ambiance. Quite pricey, but generous portions.
