Organic everything and made from scratch - that's how I always recall Apero. It's this all-day breakfast place in White Plains sharing the same owner as Duck and Buvette. Breakfast sets to steaks, porridge to chia bowls, pandesal to croissant, healthy juices to cocktails - their menu is proud and there's just so much to try.

We passed by this place recently while trying to outsmart the traffic in the Metro. We ended up eating because, why not lol. The place was actually inviting - simple but elegant, choice interiors, couches, natural light in every corner and touches of small things that gives this dining space a cozy homey feel.

Looking at the menu, we went for the following:

| Apero Big Breakfast for 340Php - a plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, English Muffin, butter and jam. Frankly, I wouldn't consider this as a BIG BREAKFAST. There wasn't a lot in here. The bacon were crispy and tasty but they were rather thin. The scrambled egg was great though - runny and creamy and soft with the right saltiness. The English Muffin was, well, an English Muffin lol The jam was okay. A little bitter for my liking. The butter was served right out of the ref so it was so hard. I needed to ask them to melt it a little. Honestly, nothing special and a little over priced. "Organic, homemade, made from scratch" makes food expensive.

| Duck Confit Porridge with Duck Fat Pandesal for 320Php - Their take of the popular Arroz Caldo, I was a little surprised with the "Duck Confir" part. It's nothing but a mere table spoon of flaked duck meat and maybe a little more mixed within the porridge. Then there was a table spoon of salted egg, garlic and spring onions on top. Though it was tasty with just the right saltiness, there was nothing extra ordinary for it to be priced at 320Php! Oh yes, this is organic and made from scratch so yeah 128527

The Duck Fat Pandesal was nothing but pandesal. It was soft and maybe better than the usual pandesal from bakeries but nah...

Then we also got one Almond Croissant that was a little burnt but was overall okay. You can just peel the bitter burnt part and you're good to go 128530

I'm not so sure if I'll give this place another try - maybe yes, maybe no. I just don't know how to feel about all these organic and home made food that makes the prices high. I mean, there are other "organic" and "farm to table" restaurants that serves really good food making the prices sulit.

2 words: TRUFFLE SCRAMBLE

Perfectly fluffy and creamy at the same time, I was in scrambled egg heaven. It was a huge dish I could barely finish it (but I did because it was so yummy).

After dinner, I went to Corinthian Hills for dessert and try Apero Neighborhood Cafe.

Apero means food eaten late afternoon. They offer dishes made from scratch.

The lady who approached me when I've visited Apero recommend the Dark Chocolate Clouds for Php190.00. It's made of Malagos Dark Chocolate Mousse topped with Cacao Almond Praline.

"The dark chocolate mousse was made from scratch. I've waited several minutes for this dessert and it's worth it. "Masarap!" The strawberry chunks gives more flavor enhancement of the dark chocolate mousse and I like the mild sweetness of Almond Praline on top of it. And it's pretty amazing that they used chocolates made in the Philippines."

I was underwhelmed. I ordered the Buccatini Bolognese. It was suppose to be one of their recommended dishes but it wasn't anything special. 128533. The taste is probably something we can cook at home. It does not even come with any piece of bread. They claim to have freshly baked bread everyday but they do not put it in their pasta 127837 dishes. Sayang. I was looking forward to eating here 128528

Besides the fact that the smoke roasted organic chicken and forbidden chicken rice is tdf....what i love most are the scrumptious pastries and intellientsia coffee. The servers and chefs are always smiling which adds to the friendly ambiance of the place and the view is spectacular. Sadly since i got them for take away, I forgot to take the pictures of their morning buns, sticky cinnamon, brownies and canele. But definitely I'll come back and probably try their breakfast menu --- granola, bacon and corned beef! 100841008410084️ #aperoph #aperoisheart

Nothing beats good old kape at pandesal for breakfast on a rainy morning.

Let's kick it up a notch by having Black Cat Mocha from Intelligentsia, Duck Fat Pandesal, and cultured butter.

Sarap! The rich duck fat made the pandesal pillowy inside and have a crisp and delicate crust outside. On it's own, a winner. Slather cultured butter and it's a slamdunk!

Tried this new neighborhood resto. Ordered the roast chicken with forbidden rice and steak. We all liked the food and we will come back for sure. Same group as duck and buvette. They are on soft opening so they're only open until 3 or 4pm. If you're in the area drop by and try this place

The sister cafe of Duck and Beauvette, this place is currently on soft opening so their store hours are only at 7am til 3pm and serves only breakfast and lunch items.

By July, they'll be extending until evenings and will offer a dinner menu and will be serving alcohol.

Like D&B, they use Intelligentsia coffee from Chicago, but they have a more extensive pastry offerings than D&B.

I ordered a Black Cat Analog Mocha and Good For You Bowl, which is their house made granola with Almond Milk.

Pretty good, light, and tasty.

I heard the Duck Fat pandesal is a must try. Will def check that out soon.

Servings of the other dishes were hefty, from what I spied from other patrons.

The place has a nice vibe but can be pretty crowded at lunch.

Service, so far, is good. Very friendly and attentive.
Price of the dishes range from 200 to 350. Affordable. The most expensive item on the menu was a steak which costs 3,500.

Will def be back again bec Intelligentsia is one of my fave coffee brands.
