I give it a 4 star because I like the Sinigang, i like their interiors and even the staffs are really courteous. What disappoints me is their Chicken Inasal, it was rubbery and I ordered chicken because Im trying to eat less pork, however the served chicken was too fatty like its all skin I can barely feel the chicken shreds. Nonetheless I will definitely go back once im in the area since their food is ok.

Spending the night at COD means finding a good (and worth it) place to have our dinner. We've already eaten here before and they enjoy it so they suggested we eat here again. Out of all the restaurants here, I think APU is the most worth it in terms of price and taste. Because all the other restaurants are either (1) too pricey, (2) not worth it/so-so food and (3), reviews are not so good.

Must tries are the (1) Kare-Kare. Super good! Nutty, rich, and thick peanut sauce. And (2), the Sinigang na Hipon. Asim na tamang tama! Sarap!!128076🏼

Since we were able to try both already, we decided to try the Bicol Express, Fresh Lumpia, and Gambas.

Fresh Lumpia
- not your usual lumpia and not how I want my lumpia. It was weird. But my aunt liked this. 128529

Gambas
- the sauce was good and tasty but the shrimps weren't that huge but still good. This was the only dish we enjoyed. 128518

Bicol Express
- when I checked our bill, I was surprised to see that this dish costs 700 pesos. Seriously? This was not good at all. Not how a bicol express should be, EVER!!!! 128529 The pork which was cooked like a lechon kawali was too tough and hard. Even a person w strong healthy teeth, no braces or whatever, will surely have a hard time eating and chewing this. And puro taba. 128527 And the sauce? It was too rich and thick and creamy. It does not taste like gata and was not even spicy. 128549 So not worth it. DO NOT ORDER THIS.

For dessert, we tried the Cassava Cake. Read a lot of good reviews about how delicious their cassava cake is here but we all didn't liked this. It was light, not too heavy and had a different texture than your usual cassava cake. It was good but not the best. Too expensive for 200++ pesos. We'd rather have Buddy's Budin. Masarap na, mura pa! 128518128523

Service was good, though. But the overall experience, thanks to our not so yummy food, was not that good. Wala nang next time dito. If ever man, from the merienda menu na lang. Pero, please. Jusko. 128527128557

PS: they offer a different merienda menu every afternoon (around 3pm) and starting 10pm again. Everything is less than 300php. There's BBQ, pancit, and other usual Pinoy merienda. Kung alam lang namin, we could have waited a bit longer and had our dinner at 10pm. Oh well. 128529

Last Sunday my family and I decided to visit COD. It was too polluted inside the Casino so I went to Dreamplay and got super ingget with the kids. Why am I an only child? I need a younger sibling so I can go inside and play!!! Or any kid!!! 128555128531128523128514

Come dinner time, we decided to look for a place to dine. They love pinoy food so we chose to eat here!! 128513 We weren't really expecting that much from this place since there weren't that much reviews and not all are "it's a good place / you must try this place asap type of reviews". 128518 BUT! We were surprised with the quality of the food. Good goood good Pinoy Food!!128076🏼

Eating here felt like eating at our home only this is a sosyal version. It's clean and so "formal". The place is really pretty and you really get to see how they made an effort to decorate the whole place. From the chairs, tables, lights, to the table setting, the placemat and the utensils used. Ganda! 128076🏼

We ordered the following: Sinigang na Hipon, Beef Kare-Kare, and Pork Sisig. 128513

Not only do you get the feel of being home with the place, but their food also made me feel at home. The Sinigang tastes like my mom's and the kare-kare like my aunt's. 128525

Sinigang na Hipon
-Ahhh this was really good and comforting! Huge shrimps and lots of veggies! 127858 The soup was not too sour so I enjoyed this! 128525 Also, I don't know if others add ginger but there's ginger. Maybe I should ask mom if she adds ginger! Anyway, this was good! 128513128077🏼

Beef Kare-Kare
-Another favorite! This was super rich, creamy, peanut-y, and oh sooo good!! 128523 Loved that the beef was very tender and there wasn't that much taba! And an acceptable amount of veggies! 128521

Pork Sisig
- this was just okay. If you're not really a fan of sisig, you can skip this one and order the Sinigang and Kare Kare! 128521

We wanted to try the Cassava Cake but it's not available anymore. 128531

Service was good. Servers were all helpful and nice. 128077🏼 Food here are pricey but so worth it! Perfect for family lunch or dinner. 128513

Decided to eat here with the family for lunch last weekend. It's a Filipino restaurant serving traditional Filipino dishes. We got various things off the menu (which was an ipad btw whuut) including kesong puti salad, ensaladang mangga, sisig, seafood kare kare, beef kare kare and the lapu lapu in sweet and sour sauce.

The appetizers and salads are in the 300+ peso range while the main courses are around 600+ pesos each. Most of them are for sharing by 2-3 people though. I liked their ensaladang mangga and kesong puti salad but I particularly enjoyed the beef kare kare. I liked their peanut butter sauce blend and the fact that there was actually a decent serving of meat and vegetables in the bowl unlike other restaurants who scrimp on the meat huhu. The sisig and fish dishes were okay.

The whole place is pretty chill, the interior is a mix of modern and traditional concepts. The staff are okay, although service is kind of slow at times.

Had late dinner here after Dreamplay.
Nice ambiance, nice touch on using placemat that look like banana leaf. They have their menus on Ipads 128526
APU means grandmother in Kapampangan. So we weren't surprised to see Filipino dishes in the menu.
We ordered fried chicken for the kids while we ordered the sisig, lechon kawali and chopsuey.
Sisig was a bit salty but I still liked it!128077
Lechon kawali was good!!!128077128077
Chopsuey was a bit pricey though

I'm loving Apu's Cassava Cake. Their take seems to elevate this ubiquitous Pinoy snack. I'm a fan of good Cassava Cake. Apu's take did not fail. I loved the right sweetness of the pastry , the chewy smooth consistency, topped with a rich Latik sauce and artfully plated in a drizzle of caramel and strawberry sauce (which made good eating with the pastry).

Since I was at City of Dreams and having read Mike L's review of this place's Cassava Cake, a visit was due. True, one of the most expensive Cassava Cakes that I have ever eaten at 280 a piece. But flavor and plating wise, worth my bucks.

A lot though seems to be desired about the service of the place. I felt they were undermanned with wait staff. A lot of tables were left "messy" with used plates/utensils from earlier diners, some tables were not set and cleaned with fresh dining setting, and no receiving staff was at the door to lead diners to tables. Since this place is one of the newer establishments in COD, I hope they can get this part streamlined in due course. Specially for their rather expensive menu listing, I think customers will expect service to match the price.
