If you're on your way up to Baguio (or up north for that matter) and feel like stretching your legs after 3 long hours of driving through 3 major highways (NLEX, SCTEX, TPLEX), think about stopping by this little "hole in the wall".
They take you a ways back with pictures of how and who started the restaurant. To my mind the name is synonymous with halo-halo. Even the way the halo-halo is served, in a tall translucent plastic cup, helps wax nostalgia into their diners.
While the halo-halo can no longer compare with the more commercial concoctions found all over the Metro, the homey, friendly ambiance beats all other places hands down. Childhood memories of trips to Guagua, Arayat and Angeles, Pampanga come flooding in.
Even if just for a brief moment, this place is offers a welcome pause for excited or weary travellers. And for that, they get my 4 stars with 5 smiles! +
