The first time I paid a visit to Army Navy, I was elated that there was place that serves Mexican food. To be honest, I enjoyed the first few times, because it had been a while since I went back home to California where Mexican restaurants are a staple.

As I reevaluating the food of Army Navy, my now take on it is just "ok".

In my years of eating authentic Mexican, Mexi-Cali, Tex-Mex, or even the franchise monster Chipotlé, the key of having good tacos and burritos is the meat. Meat is supposed to be marinated for hours for it to be flavorful and tender. Unfortunately Army Navy lack that standard. Salt and pepper are the only seasonings put on the steak upon cooking. That's not the experience locals should get. The carne asada (steak) served is tough and chewy, which make it difficult to enjoy. You can customize your tacos and burritos by adding sour cream, avocado, extra salsa (which, by the way is bland), but it will cost you a pretty piso. So a 195PHP burrito would go up to as much as 275PHP in order to achieve descent flavor.

Army Navy can go without the Fearless Fried Chicken. There are too many chains that sell fried chicken. In my opinion they all taste the same.

What I'm least impressed on their menu is their burger. When it comes to a juicy burger, the juice of the meat should remain inside of the meat, also that the bun should be firm enough to compliment the burger. In my experience the meat was too greasy and that the grease overflows onto the bun where it becomes soggy.

A plus in their menu is the tortilla soup and Starving Sailor. It's well made with the right amount of spices that gives a soup a nice kick. The Starving Sailor, a sandwich reminiscent of a Philly Cheesesteak was nothing short of awesome.

Though I have my reservations about Army Navy, I still visit the place occasionally to fulfill my craving of Mexican food.

(^▽^) Yes I'm here again! Didn't do anything new this time. I got longanisa burrito with cheese and chopped bacon for dine in and carnitas with chopped bacon and sourcream on the side for take out. (Yes! Im a growing bo.. este.. Man! Well i usually eat once a day though haha slow metabolism ftl? Or ftw? Haha)

Bacon? Yes have it chopped. Why? Well if eating burrito isnt messy enough, having those strips of bacon prematurely get dragged by your teeth and you end up eating it all in one bite isnt necessarily a good experience for me lol. I want it chopped! Crunchy bacon in every bite!

Sour Cream? Yes! Makes everything taste better! Have it on the side though because they tend to put it at the very bottom of the burrito.

Chopped Jalapeños? For someone who eats a lot of spicy foods, I ddnt really notice it in my burrito. So I guess it's no use for me since i can't taste the difference.

Cheese? Ofcourse! Anak ng tinatanong pa ba yan? Haha!

I'll try the other extras next time lol.

(≧∇≦)/ I loooooove this place! I love burritos and other insta-subo foods hahah! Each time I visit I try to add more & new extras. Last time i asked for sour cream... Then with bacon... Then find it hard to eat the burrito with the long strips of bacon so i asked it chopped on my last visit... Now it's sourcream, chopped bacon, and jalapeños!

Longganisa burrito seemed better now because it was super salty the last time I tried it. It's still super messy to eat though... All that grease sitting at the bottom of the foil haha! I dont care though... Walang paki-alaman! Haha!

Today's probably the best day of my Army Navy life because of one mistake of the crew. They accidentally added cheese in my Carnitas Burrito takeout.... They apologized and asked if it's ok and wont charge me for it... HELL YES! FREE CHEESE! BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!

Can't really think of any other burrito place better than Army Navy aside from in a food court in Singapore which is equally good but double the size lol.

5 Stars! Will eat there again! .... Maybe tomorrow hahaha!

Rainy afternoon, cold and damp. We had to get out of the rain and rest in between errands. This branch is small and beside the road but its very very clean. Let me tell you, Its my first time to eat here so expectations are high cos of what Ive been reading here. I just wanted something light cos its merienda time. Ordered cheese quesadilla, freedom fries, chips with cheese sauce and 2 Libertea. BGM is nice, the counter girl is very accomodating. About 7 mins our orders came. It was hot so I liked it right away. Tried the fries, it was awesome! Reminiscent of KFC fries before when they were still good. The quesadilla for me is a bit lacking in flavor, maybe a little sharp cheese should do the trick? I like spicy food so the salsa is just right for me, though i did put a little dash of salsa picante every bite. Their other sauce(?) is really good, you can definitely taste the garlic but not the overwhelming kind of way. I tasted paprika as well. The chips, just so-so. It just really a vessel for the cheese sauce w/ jalapeno, which is a little on the thick side, siguro it got cold right away cos of the Baguio weather.i prefer it a little runny. The Libertea, is one of the better tasting Iced tea Ive had. Tony Roma's iced tea is still the bomb, they brew it themselves and pinigaan talaga ng clamansi (i know cos ive worked there). To sum it up, ive had better mexican food but considering the budget, i find it quite enjoyable. Will be back for that bully boy burger but i will probably split it with hubby! :-( lang kse no wifi but i can live with it.
