My siblings and I decided to surprise my mom on her birthday with a hotel accommodation over the weekend. We already had hotel in mind but when I called, sadly they were fully booked.
Looking on the positive side, this gave us the opportunity to try out a new hotel so I went on looking for a new place to stay on looloo and stumbled upon Aruga by Rockwell hotel. There were a few reviews, but had high ratings. Doing more research, I found out that there is a newer installation of Aruga which is located at the Grove in Pasig and they were currently having a promo for their rooms! I got a pretty good deal of P11,700 net thru their website for a one night stay at a 2 bedroom executive suite!
The room inclusions were:
Room for 3 adults
Set meal (All day bfast) for 3 guests
Free room service massage for 2
Free use of gym and swimming pool
Free cancellation and no prepayment required. (Super hassle free.)
1 Free parking spot. (But they allowed us to occupy two slots)
We were a total of 5 so I asked for 2 more extra beds which costs 1500 each, but the receptionist insisted to check the room first and decide if we still needed extra beds. It turned out, we really didn't need them! Kudos to the receptionist for not ripping us off! 🏻 The room is approximately 74-108 sq meters and the master bed is very spacious. It also has a balcony where I took my night shot.
The meal included in our accommodation had a flexible schedule. I think it was from 7am-9pm and we had a choice between 2 restaurants at the Grove. (The Gardens or Pi Breakfast & Pies, I think.) This was very convenient for us since we really wanted to have a staycation and didn't want to wake up early and go down for breakfast. Instead, we went to Rustan's which is also located at the Grove, to buy ourselves some bacon, rice and stuff for grilled cheese seeing that the room has a fully equipped kitchen. We had that for bfast and used our free set meals after checking out during lunch time.
Our room also had a washing machine and a dryer which we utilized since we still needed our laundry done for the following week.
Before checking out the next day, me and my siblings decided to go for a quick dip in the pool. We were surprised by the huge size of the pool! Plus, the water was very clean! It was a joy swimming in the morning without having the trouble of overcrowded swimming pools and dirty water.
Overall, we loved our stay here. The staff were very polite and accommodating. We would definitely add this to our top go to staycations around the metro. Btw, Aruga at the Grove is more of a Serviced Apartment type, rather than a hotel. You can really tell the difference when you walk through their hallways. It looks just like an ordinary apartment. Nevertheless, their service was great! I also noticed that there's always a security personnel escorting a visitor to a room. 🏼
Tip: If you're not familiar with the location, just navigate to The Grove. Last time I checked, their registered location in Google maps and Waze was wrong. The receptionist told me that they are aware of that and requested it to be corrected.
