Work and travel suddenly go together in my case that's why I was able to visit Mindoro last Monday and Tuesday.
My production team and I, plus my client's team met at Phitranco Pasay at 2:30AM to leave exactly at 3AM. Bulalacao, Mindoro is 5 hours away when you arrive to Calapan Port that's why we have to be early.
After 2 1/2 hours of Pasay - Batangas Port travel, and then 1 1/2 Batangas Port - Calapan Port travel, and finally, 5 hours of Calapan - Bulalacao travel... We finally arrived! 9 LONG HOURS!!! Well, island hopping was done on our 2nd day though.
During the island hopping, this was the first island we visited for our shooting. Aslom Island is known for its sandbar. However, when our boat was about to dock, we noticed that a portion of the water, about 300m away from its shores, has this brown and bubbly substance.
We have no time of staying longer because we really came here to work. Plus, based in our itinerary, island hopping in Bulalacao takes 1-1/2 hour travel via boat. The islands that our client have chosen were almost that far from each other.
I tried to walk in the waters but the shores would just eat my feet. I always lose balance and it's quite rocky.
We were the only visitors that time. We didn't see any other tourists in the area. We left after 30 minutes so we can still shoot under the sun at the other islands.
The place is beautiful but I will only give 3 stars because of the bubbly and brown substance near this island.
