Another first! And its still my birthday week last saturday. Its dinner date with my dear friends, we dine at Azuthai, that serves home-style Thai cuisine. The place has nice interiors with table set up. I should say its perfect date place.. Its quiet and comfortable. The resto is located at Pasay Road near Greenbelt 2.

Thai Cuisine has a wide variety of dishes and yes, its a dilemma what to order. And of course, since I tagged along my dear boyfie, its no sweat.

We had crispy catfish salad (the usual salad in reviews), it has sliced green mangoes, peanuts, mint, lime dressing.
Quite salty, but enjoyed the crispy bites. Crispy Soft Shell Crab, in garlic pepper sauce is not only delectable.. but so good you can eat it all (a favorite now!). We had Thai Bagoong Rice to match with Azuthai Grilled U.S. Angus Boneless Beef Ribs in tamarind sauce and Chili Garlic Prawns. As much ad I wanted to avoid rice... Can't say no with this matching dishes.

But that's not all, we also had Pad Thai with Prawns (stir fried noodles, prawns, eggs, spring onions, peanuts.). You'll never go wrong.. Its always a favorite! We also had Roast Duck Red Curry, it is served with plain rice. Tasty dish, it had pineapple and tomatoes. Its something new to me and love the flavor, but wish it was more spicy.

P.S. So full that we all have no space for dessert. Mango with sticky rice is what I have in mind.. Maybe next time 9786

I came across photos of places I haven't reviewed yet on looloo, so here we go 128522!

Azuthai... The best Thai restaurant I have been to in Manila so far.

The duck curry was awesome and I loved the pad Thai.

We were actually the only people there on a weekday lunch which was surprising. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine.

Winner of this year's Manila's Best for Thai Restaurant is Azuthai by Chef J Gamboa. Ordered their signature dishes like Catfish salad, Thom Yam Goon, Prawn fried spring rolls, Chicken green curry, US Angus Beef ribs, Bagoong rice, and Phad Thai, but the winner for me was its Steamed Boneless Seabass with lime. Must order!

Generally, very good quality food, and authentic taste, although I would have preferred the green curry to be thicker and more flavorful. Certainly, one of the better Thai restaurants in Manila.

BEST STICKY RICE AND MANGO IN MANILA. I'm a sticky rice and mango fanatic and I ALWAYS have people bring me this every time someone comes back from Bangkok. Azurhai's is hands down AUTHENTIC. Don't miss it.

As for the other dishes, generally it was good but wasn't impressed. I've had better Thai food but still worth the try if only just to have this dessert after. Yum yummy!!

One of the better authentic Thai resto, classic dishes done with perfection & some with a nice twist to tease our palate, to delight us & kept me coming back for more all these years

Some of my faves:
Crispy catfish salad
Spring roll

Hot and Sour Prawn Soup with Lemongrass, Kaffir Lime Leaves, Fresh Coriander (Tom Yum Goong) good for 3-4 to share.. Savory , creamy, more substance , fresh prawn , mushrooms, herbs, and more of that back-of-the-throat tingle as well.

Baby Crispy Pata with 2 Thai Sauces or Kha Moo Tod Brob differed from filipino version of crispy pata since it was smaller, and had less fat. The skin was also thinner, and very crispy almost a little similar to that of a sucking pig. It came with two sauces --- a red one & a green one. I liked the green better, sweet, yet tart, and I could heap lots of it with the crispy pata

bagoong rice. Not too salty nor too fishy, the rice always kills my diet 128561

Tako... Authentic Thai dessert ... Light enough to still fit in our overstuffed tummies .. Lol.. Perfect sweet ending

Place is fancy for a Thai restaurant. Average of 350-500php per served dish. Their tom
Yum is savory, authentic so is there coconut base dishes. It's along the stretch of the legendary pasay road and by default Japanese, traditional Asian restaurants there are really good.

How can duck curry get better? By adding more of everything!
I don't know if it's a friendlier chef or just a new serving size, but this was the most of the best duck curry yet!
Having tom yum before it and enjoying it with refillable rice and morning glory just made everything right.
Topped off with one of the best Thai Iced Teas in town. Ahhhhhhh-happy.

THAI ICED TEA

I still prefer Benjarong or Peoples Palace.

Probably the best Thai place in Manila. Every classic Thai dish done to perfection. Pricey, but if you want Thai food done to delight you and leave you begging for a bottomless stomach so that you can eat more still, this is the place to go.
