Review for Santana Grove, Sucat branch: We wanted a nice Friday dinner of Batchoy and Chicken Inasal. Place was a bit dark (apparently they did not open the lights completely, halfway through our dinner they opened all the lights). Service was quick and friendly.

We ordered a bowl of Batchoy Special and three Chicken Inasal value meals (including a glass of Lemonade). First served was the Batchoy. It came in a huge bowl. Dad started to eat his share and to his surprise he was having a hard time chewing on the noodles. The tough piece of noodle turned out to be a rubber band. We kept our cool and showed the rubber band to the nice staff. We did not go the hysterical customer routine and asked them politely what they would do about it. After a few minutes a member of the kitchen staff apologized and asked if we wanted a replacement. We declined. The restaurant manager approached our table next and apologized and explained how it happened. Our worry is that the soup base where the rubber band came from might be contaminated with it. They should be very careful with cleanliness and hygiene. It was such a huge disappointment because i wanted to prove the low ratings this restaurant otherwise. But this experience just confirmed the low ratings.

The service may have improved but sanitation must also be a paramount concern. Senior cards honored. No official reciept issued. Oh, the Chicken Inasal was juicy and plump. Not overcooked and was quite tasty. The Batchoy though...
