Taking some time to minimize my backlogs which I started in the Samal entry, now back to Bacolod. Haha.

I have to say I like how efficient their airport is despite being small. Everything is all at one place, with the Pasalubongs right before the waiting area. And not to mention, how the markup is small comparing to other stuffs being sold at a regular airport. And maybe the best part for me is that they have Kuppa Roastery at their airport. Though just a kiosk but very functional. Yayyy! I like airports that maybe small but very functional.

Plus side of their airport is that it’s so serene with all the sugar cane field the moment you started your journey to the City. And there are lots of shuttles outside to take you to the City or bus terminals so hassle free.

Thank you Bacolod for a very wonderful trip last weekend for our Post 17th wedding getaway.

Our flight going back to Manila last Sunday was around 6pm in the evening and we got at the Bacolod Silay International airport 2hours before. It was very clean, peaceful.

Fast service and very systematic. There are few pasalubong centers , more of goodies but the souvenir shirts are only available at the malls.

Our flight was ahead on time when we arrived in Manila . Goodbye and thank you to the Sugar Capital of the Philippines! The people , food and place are awesome !

Touchdown last Saturday at around 5am at Bacolod Silay International airport!

Maayong Aga Bacolod! 9992️ our first time here at City of Smiles and ready for our 17th post wedding anniversary getaway!

The airport was very clean , peaceful and in order! There are taxi and shuttles outside but I suggest you take shuttles as its more cheaper , 150 pesos each going to Silay which will passed by our hotel.

ARRIVAL. Arrived at the City of Smiles via Cebu Pacific Air. Upon arriving you can already notice that the airport is not that big enough to handle numerous flights. We landed safely at New Silay-Bacolod Airport which is 21km away from Bacolod downtown. We rode on a taxi outside the airport with a fixed fare of 500 pesos. Airport shuttles are also available in the area for 150 each. The shuttle route is from Silay Airport to SM City Bacolod and vice versa.

DEPARTURE. From what I've seen at the check-in counters, only Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific Air are the airlines that accommodate passengers bound for Manila or Cebu. After checking in you still have to pay the terminal fee at the booth provided near the departure lounge. Terminal fee costs 200 pesos. You can also buy your pasalubong/s at the airport since Merczi and Bongbong's stalls are available. Never forget to buy their Napoleones and piayas. When buying at Merzci you can present your plane ticket to get a 10% discount of the delicacies that you've bought. Aside from those two, Island Souvenir can also be found inside the airport. They have Bacolod shirts for only 199 pesos. They also have bag tags, caps, bags, ballerbands and many more. Their departure lounge is neat but the a/c can't stand with huge number of passengers. I suggest that they have to add more a/cs specifically at Gate 4.

Our flight going back to Manila got delayed but we at least had a comfortable stay inside the departure area. The restroom was clean. The staff were polite. There just aren't a lot of food choices though.

I love this airport - it is small but has a nice layout, and I prefer it over Davao City because it has Kuppa at the pre-departure 9749

Thanks to the generous reviews of |oolooers, we caught the shuttle instead of hiring a cab to take us into Bacolod City. When you're backpacking and on tipid mode, every peso counts!

Bacolod for the weekend! Wohooo!128131🏼128131🏼128131🏼

Flight landed safely. Not much too see in the city of smiles but it's okay. I came here just to EAT! I'm excited at the places I will explore in a bit.128523128523128523

Now for the airport: Clean and well maintained. I liked that there are decent stalls and cafe. You can also find a small Duty Free store where you can get your usual candy bars for pasalubong.

Cab will charge you 500 pesos for a trip to the city so skip it! Better ride an air-conditioned multi cab. Costs 150 pesos and the driver will be kind enough to drop you in front of your hotel.

Off to Manukan Country. Lezz do this!128020

Its an airport, I go in and I go out. No bad experiences with airport staff and got my luggage in less than 10 minutes. Th only thing I hate is that I have to pay 500 for taxi from the airport going to the City. Its a good thing there were 3 of us to share the fare.

What I like about Bacolod Airport is the cheaper access to city center via UV Express! I can't remember the exact fare but fair enough. Cheaper than cab of course. :)

You can immediately see why Bacolod is the city of smiles. Everyone's smiling. :)

Clean and efficient. Food choices are quite limited though. But the pasalubong options between Bong Bong's and Merczi are adequate.

Today the aircon seems to be down. But the industrial fans are able to provide good ventilation.

The simplicity of this airport is appealing to me. Even if the place is also small, the ventilation is well and it's really clean.

The view of the mountain at the waiting area is something that'll make you appreciate it even more.

I was pleasantly surprised by the airport in Bacolod as it was bigger and more modern than I expected it to be. That said, there's still room for improvement as seating capacity can be limited once everyone has checked in & are waiting for their respective flights, all the more when flights are delayed and more and more people start coming in.

Food choices are limited inside the airport as well.

For last-minute pasalubong, Merzci and BongBong's Stores are located right before the last security check in the Departure Area. Air-conditioning was stronger in the left boarding gates (Gate 1&2) versus the right boarding gates (Gate 3&4). Free Globe wifi was fast.

Although it looks modern, still very limited food choices! You cant have any decent meal, since the concessionaires mostly sell instant cup noodles and sandwiches, no hot meals. We got to the airport 2.5 hours before our flight and decided to just wait it out there since we're all tamad to go out and find a resto.

Charging stations are available but the airport wifi is weak.

Clean, comfortable, well-lighted. Friendly airport staff. Spacious parking area. Lots of transportation option to bring you to nearby cities.

A good place to catch the sunset.

If you forgot to buy pasalubong, there's a Bong-bong's outlet nearby.
