My first time to try bad bird was a couple of years ago at the height of its popularity and of HOITW. Having no idea what it's supposed to taste like, was kinda overwhelmed by the powder and flavor. Fast forward to 2017 and I got to try it again, thanks to |ooloo and our super fun Hallolooween Party!
Props to Roegan T for getting us such a good deal at HOITW! Our ₱300 door charge got us a ₱500 GC to any establishment! They won't give change though so youve to order a lot hehe!
Beelined to bad bird since I've been wanting to try it again after a few great experiences at Fowl bread and with the controversy too Re the fried chicken at burger geek. The kimchi rice wasn't available anymore so I opted for the waffle plate. I also requested for 1 pc spicy, 1 pc regular. Plus a side order of corn to finish off my GC.
Got my buzzer and went back to the party. Food was ready in about 15 mins. Dug right into the spicy one and I loved it! It's not a burning kind of spice but very well rounded and tasty! It went well with the waffles and maple syrup. Pretty soon I was sweating so I started on the regular one which was equally delicious. The corn though was a bit cold, too bad. Since I ordered a lot, wasn't able to finish everything, sayang haha! Hope they'll open a branch soon here in the south!

Last week, I attended the first ever Halloolooween Party together with other fellow Loolooers. It was a fun-filled night because all of us were dressed up for halloween. I prepared myself as Wednesday Addams since it was one of the easiest characters to immitate. Surprisingly, there were three Wednesday Addams that night. Hello, Peanut D and Cindy S 128587🏽

Our halloween party was held in Hole in the Wall at Century
City Mall. Good thing, I was eager to try the most rave fried chicken of Bad Bird's. Since I had P500 food voucher, I ordered the P350 meal + softdrinks. On my plate I had: two pieces umami fried chicken, kimchi as side dish, and dirty rice.

I chose the "safe" spicy level simply because I underestimate my tolerance to spicy food. I asked the staff about the most preferred pair of the chicken and they said that their dirty rice was their best seller. The rumors were true. The chicken on the outside was too crispy and the umami flavors were so good. I almost hate the taste of the fastfood fried chicken because this one was the bombed. The dirty rice made with bacon pieces, chicken liver, tamago, and kimchi was perfectly created for the chicken. They were better together. However, I don't really like kimchi, I gave it to other peeps on my table.

Bad Bird is just one of the best food concepts inside the Hole in the Wall. I also tried other food but I will have a
separate review for those. I really enjoyed our Hallooween Party at this place. The space can accommodate big group of diners and can hold private gatherings. The staff were also accommodating and nice. I like the overall concept of the whole place from cool interior design up to the lighting.

Thanks Peanut D, Roegan T, and Pam L for the awesome games and prizes! Happy to see and meet everyone on the event. I'm now looking forward to the halloween party with Loolooers next year! More games and prizes, please! Haha! 128525

This is both a review and a story telling of Bad Bird and the recently concluded Looloo Halloween party. I was invited and thankfully, they allowed me to bring a plus one. The reason I wanted to bring a friend really is the costume that I'd be wearing, it's too extravagant and I couldn't wear without an assistance 128514.

Anyhoo, the event was held at Hole in the Wall in Century Mall. I was accompanied by my friend, Pancake, who came in as a vampire. I, on the other hand, came in as Anne Boleyn. Not many people know this character so wearing this costume entails some explaining to people who are curious. I had this gown custom made a few years ago for a movie themed yearend party of the company where I used to work. It's a 16th century gown, I couldn't wear it anywhere else, so it sat inside my closet for years after said event.

So when Looloo asked me to join their Halloween party, I knew that I had to wear the gown again. Thankfully, it still fits me rather nicely.

The customers of Hole in the Wall who saw me that night smiled at me. Apparently, they were quite amused seeing a woman in a 16th century dress.

The event itself is simple, no singing or dancing, just a few games to engage people, and also a raffle. Attendees did arrive wearing costumes; one came as Sadness from the movie Inside Out, one came as a Star Wars Jedi, there's a Spider Man (more like Spider Girl), there's also one who came as Ryu of Street Fighter. I don't get to attend costume parties a lot so I was naturally thrilled.

I think I surprised people when I came in because I heard some of them gasp, and I could have sworn they were all looking at me 🤣. I didn't win best costume though 🙁. Well that's okay, I still had fun.

There was a door fee of P300; used to be 600, then 400, and I'm so glad they were able to get it down to 300. We were given a 500-peso worth of voucher in exchange and we could use it to buy food from any of the Hole in the Wall's concessionaires.

My friend and I picked, Bad Bird. I've heard a lot about this food chain but never got to try it until that night. I ordered a two piece spicy chicken meal, comes with 2 corncobs, then I added kimchi side.

The chicken and the corncobs were fantastic. The chicken is so good they should called it Good Bird 128514. I like that it is flavorful down to the bones and that the meat is tender. It's salty and spicy, just the way I liked it.

The corncobs were a bit challenging to eat just because I was careful not to smear my lipstick all over it. So I made an effort shredding the corn from the cob with the fork and the knife.

Til the next Halloween party Loolooers!

was just okay for me. Maybe I expected too much? I'll give it another try soon but I dont know when. I mean if you'll ask me, I dont have plans yet. I'd rather go to other places but if my officemates or friends wanted to go here for lunchout then that will be only time. 128517

Inside the conceptual hub of Hole in the Wall is the multifaceted dining area. The food hall is designed with street-vibe jeepney signages on the wall, wired steel screens on doors, brick walls, and blank cement floors. The innovative stall of Bad Bird sticked to the modernity of the look and upscale food options.

I go for the plate of corn and coleslaw for P390 and with an additional sweet potato waffles for P95. The umami goodness justified the steep price points. The chicken is seasoned thoroughly and the skin is immensly crispy. You can choose any spice level from safe, spicy, and chemical. I take calculated risks and the safe level is enough for me. As a devotee of anything fried chicken, Bad Bird lives up to the hype.

Whether you are here for lunch in between work or for a dinner over drinks, each plate serves it purpose for being a flavourful meal. Bad Bird opened a branch in SM Megamall fashion hall with upcoming stalls in Serendra in BGC, UP Town Center, and Robinson’s Ermita. There’s umami in almost every city in Manila 128523

It was my first time to try Bad Bird (only because I wasn't able to see something I'd like to eat in HITW)... Sad to say, I didn't like it that much. I don't get the hype and it was also a bit pricey. The waffles were unique but tasted just fine. The chicken was a bit dry and salty. Maybe next time I'd try the set that comes with dirty rice. We also waited for around 20 mins. for the food.

Second visit here. This time, got to try the Waffle Plate. Ahhg that miso butter was so perfect with the waffles. Of course, the chicken was spot on. A tad pricier than other chicken joints but well worth the price. 127881

Soooo bad it's soooo good 127831127831127831

Brunch at Bad Bird with Oliver. We got the Chicken Waffle Plate and Corn and Coleslaw Plate. I love their waffle! I want to try making it at home. As for the chicken, we love its umami goodness. Too bad it's too far from our house to visit it often 128557128557128557

It's been a while since I last had Bad Bird so when we visited Hole in the Wall, I ordered one Dirty Rice Plate just for myself bwahaha. The chicken was okay. The flavoring is mostly on the skin. While I was halfway through my food, I suddenly remembered that I didn't like the taste of liver because of the chicken liver chunks in the dirty rice. Without those, the dirty rice tasted okay. Also, I wasn't able to finish my meal because of cloying (sawa).

Dont you find it odd that I've been to Bad Bird multiple times and this is the first time I've tried their Chicken in the "safe level"

Odd eh? Anyway, albeit the lack of heat, i loved the flavors of the safe variant. I guess this only means one thing - I love Bad Bird with or without the spice.

Bad Bird has always been my-to-go-place everytime I crave for Umami fried chicken. In Hole in the Wall, Century City Mall, they have three Fried Chicken Plates to choose from.

• Waffle Plate (PHP 290) - 2 sweet potato waffles with miso butter and maple syrup (unexpectedly delicious)

• Corn and Coleslaw Plate (PHP 330) - Corn on cob with kewpie mayonnaise, bonito flakes, togarashi, cheese and kimchi coleslaw

and of course my favorite among the three choices,

• Dirty Rice Plate (PHP 320) - fried rice with chicken liver bits, tamago, bonito, and kimchi

I usually pick the safe spice level when it comes to ordering at Bad Bird, it is for me to enjoy the fried chicken plate because the spicy level is already too much for me and I can't even imagine ordering the chemical spice level. :)

The price is reasonable because one plate is good for sharing. Just add some side dishes to make it more fulfilling. But of course, I don't have any problem finishing it by myself. :)

Overall, I would always recommend Bad Bird to anyone craving for some really good Umami Fried Chicken.

And, I can't wait to try out Bad Bird Restaurant at SM Megamall Fashion Hall because I've heard they offer a lot of new dishes there. :)

One of the really safe choices at Hole in the Wall. Got the waffle plate (PhP330) and shared it with my food buddy. We also ordered an additional dirty rice (PhP95). Not your usual fried chicken indeed!

This is my safe spot at hole in the wall. More than half of the times I went to hole in the wall, I ate at Bad Bird. And in those times I ate here, I usually get the Dirty Rice Plate. Again, I’m a man of habit.

I often order this dish because of the sides which accompany the 2 big cuts of fried chicken. Spicy for me is actually a bit too much at times, so I really can’t imagine what it’s like to eat a chemical spice level. I’m definitely not going to order that if I wanted to enjoy my food. I find myself alternating between spicy and safe spice levels just to ensure enough variety in my visits. I find the serving just right even though it’s quite filling. Kimchi’s a nice touch!

On my next visit, I plan to taste their chicken nuggets!

That’s it for now. Take care everyone!

Bad Bird is one of Hole in the Wall's pioneers and its 2nd-branch-slash-1st-stand alone restaurant just recently opened in Megamall. The brand has obviously come a long way and I have never tried it. But after a series of unfortunate events brought me to Century Mall, I decided that it's time to try Bad Bird because hello, ako na lang yata 'di pa nakapag Bad Bird. 128529

I ordered the Waffle Plate, Safe Spice Level meaning not spicy at all. One bite was all I needed to know that it's good. One plate is definitely good for sharing but I had no problem wiping it out.

All my appointments got cancelled all of a sudden. I was starting to feel gloomy when I remember I'm a few minutes away from Century Mall x Hole In The Wall x Bad Bird!!!

Wicked fried chicken with chemical spice level that is nothing but crispy and juicy. Such tasty chickens!128538

Like always, I ordered corn in a cob and dirty rice too.

Bad Bird saved the day!128020

Finally got to try Bad Bird! Hehe, my mom and I got their waffle platter to share as we were only looking for a ~light~ snack. Anyway, we opted to go on the safe route lol. Waffle was delicious, I really liked the miso butter. Alsooo, the chicken was so good! Now I understand what all the hype is about. I love how crispy the chicken skin was, and it was really flavorful too. Might try the second ~spicy~ level next time. That, and we might go with the dirty rice platter next time too. 128518128523

So I was able to make the CBF go with me and finally try The Hole in the Wall place in Century City Mall. 128513128077🏻

First, we did a quick tour to see what attracts us the most, and yes. Bad Bird attraction was strong! 128517

What excites me the most is the level of spicy for the chicken namely: Safe, Spicy and Chemical. Of course I wana go extreme-- so went with the Chemical-- well I really love it. 128525 The CBF cried for days., (he's not into spicy food.) 128514

I know I promised myself that I'd drop by again. Will have to push the CBF to go back 128517.

One Friday, while trying to wait out the coding window, I decided to head on over to Century City Mall. I didn’t know where else to eat so I ended up in Hole in the Wall. Hahaha!

127831 Fried Chicken Plate – Corn & Coleslaw Plate [PHP 330]
Your choice of safe, spicy or chemical for the spice level. I went with the spicy one. 2 pieces of fried chicken with corn on a stick with Kewpie Japanese mayo + bonito flakes ♥ I love this corn!! The kimchi coleslaw was a bit weird for me but I was still able to eat it. Hahaha!
