It's been a while since I last had Bad Bird so when we visited Hole in the Wall, I ordered one Dirty Rice Plate just for myself bwahaha. The chicken was okay. The flavoring is mostly on the skin. While I was halfway through my food, I suddenly remembered that I didn't like the taste of liver because of the chicken liver chunks in the dirty rice. Without those, the dirty rice tasted okay. Also, I wasn't able to finish my meal because of cloying (sawa).

Dont you find it odd that I've been to Bad Bird multiple times and this is the first time I've tried their Chicken in the "safe level"

Odd eh? Anyway, albeit the lack of heat, i loved the flavors of the safe variant. I guess this only means one thing - I love Bad Bird with or without the spice.

Bad Bird has always been my-to-go-place everytime I crave for Umami fried chicken. In Hole in the Wall, Century City Mall, they have three Fried Chicken Plates to choose from.

• Waffle Plate (PHP 290) - 2 sweet potato waffles with miso butter and maple syrup (unexpectedly delicious)

• Corn and Coleslaw Plate (PHP 330) - Corn on cob with kewpie mayonnaise, bonito flakes, togarashi, cheese and kimchi coleslaw

and of course my favorite among the three choices,

• Dirty Rice Plate (PHP 320) - fried rice with chicken liver bits, tamago, bonito, and kimchi

I usually pick the safe spice level when it comes to ordering at Bad Bird, it is for me to enjoy the fried chicken plate because the spicy level is already too much for me and I can't even imagine ordering the chemical spice level. :)

The price is reasonable because one plate is good for sharing. Just add some side dishes to make it more fulfilling. But of course, I don't have any problem finishing it by myself. :)

Overall, I would always recommend Bad Bird to anyone craving for some really good Umami Fried Chicken.

And, I can't wait to try out Bad Bird Restaurant at SM Megamall Fashion Hall because I've heard they offer a lot of new dishes there. :)

One of the really safe choices at Hole in the Wall. Got the waffle plate (PhP330) and shared it with my food buddy. We also ordered an additional dirty rice (PhP95). Not your usual fried chicken indeed!

This is my safe spot at hole in the wall. More than half of the times I went to hole in the wall, I ate at Bad Bird. And in those times I ate here, I usually get the Dirty Rice Plate. Again, I’m a man of habit.

I often order this dish because of the sides which accompany the 2 big cuts of fried chicken. Spicy for me is actually a bit too much at times, so I really can’t imagine what it’s like to eat a chemical spice level. I’m definitely not going to order that if I wanted to enjoy my food. I find myself alternating between spicy and safe spice levels just to ensure enough variety in my visits. I find the serving just right even though it’s quite filling. Kimchi’s a nice touch!

On my next visit, I plan to taste their chicken nuggets!

That’s it for now. Take care everyone!

Bad Bird is one of Hole in the Wall's pioneers and its 2nd-branch-slash-1st-stand alone restaurant just recently opened in Megamall. The brand has obviously come a long way and I have never tried it. But after a series of unfortunate events brought me to Century Mall, I decided that it's time to try Bad Bird because hello, ako na lang yata 'di pa nakapag Bad Bird. 128529

I ordered the Waffle Plate, Safe Spice Level meaning not spicy at all. One bite was all I needed to know that it's good. One plate is definitely good for sharing but I had no problem wiping it out.

All my appointments got cancelled all of a sudden. I was starting to feel gloomy when I remember I'm a few minutes away from Century Mall x Hole In The Wall x Bad Bird!!!

Wicked fried chicken with chemical spice level that is nothing but crispy and juicy. Such tasty chickens!128538

Like always, I ordered corn in a cob and dirty rice too.

Bad Bird saved the day!128020

Finally got to try Bad Bird! Hehe, my mom and I got their waffle platter to share as we were only looking for a ~light~ snack. Anyway, we opted to go on the safe route lol. Waffle was delicious, I really liked the miso butter. Alsooo, the chicken was so good! Now I understand what all the hype is about. I love how crispy the chicken skin was, and it was really flavorful too. Might try the second ~spicy~ level next time. That, and we might go with the dirty rice platter next time too. 128518128523

So I was able to make the CBF go with me and finally try The Hole in the Wall place in Century City Mall. 128513128077🏻

First, we did a quick tour to see what attracts us the most, and yes. Bad Bird attraction was strong! 128517

What excites me the most is the level of spicy for the chicken namely: Safe, Spicy and Chemical. Of course I wana go extreme-- so went with the Chemical-- well I really love it. 128525 The CBF cried for days., (he's not into spicy food.) 128514

I know I promised myself that I'd drop by again. Will have to push the CBF to go back 128517.

One Friday, while trying to wait out the coding window, I decided to head on over to Century City Mall. I didn’t know where else to eat so I ended up in Hole in the Wall. Hahaha!

127831 Fried Chicken Plate – Corn & Coleslaw Plate [PHP 330]
Your choice of safe, spicy or chemical for the spice level. I went with the spicy one. 2 pieces of fried chicken with corn on a stick with Kewpie Japanese mayo + bonito flakes ♥ I love this corn!! The kimchi coleslaw was a bit weird for me but I was still able to eat it. Hahaha!

First time at Hole in the Wall! First timer in Century City too! haha

You can order in umami chicken with different variations.
1. Waffle plate, comes with 2 pieces sweet potato waffles with miso butter and maple syrup.
2. Corn and Coleslaw, comes with 2 corn on the cob with coleslaw.
3. Dirty Rice Plate, fried rice with bacon, chicken liver.

We had the Corn and coleslaw, I must say I liked their coleslaw, the dressing is light enough to not leave you sated. The corn on the cob with Japanese Kewpie mayonnaise, bonito flakes and togarashi umami spices is delicious, though, there's nothing special about it. I still like Burger geek's umami corn. Its more tastier.
The chicken is well spiced. We ordered for spicy, and the spiciness is tolerable. I wonder what the taste of the chemical. The chicken is cooked well. It is crunchy and you can taste the spices on every bite.

I liked what we've ordered, however, I just think that I can have a more delicious food with the same price. Its a bit pricey for me. Maybe because of the place itself or its just that. haha

Got so excited to go back to Hole in a Wall that we were not able to decide where to eat! It took some time and two very slow rounds (or laps, if I may call it that way 128540), around Hole in a Wall just to choose our much awaited lunch.

At last, we landed on Bad Bird! And yes, I'm a first timer here! And from first bite, I'm saying I'm definitely coming back. We chose the Waffle Plate and we loved it so much! The waffle is not too soft, which I really loved. They definitely put a lot of thought on this side dish as even the miso butter is top notch! Definitely better than more well known pancake and pastry shops out there. It actually matches the chicken's salty-spicy cajun-ish taste.

The chicken isn't so big but is very lean and tasty. Don't expect it to be juicy as it is really better as it is, dry and crispy, and very tasty.

The dish is actually good for one but is quite big so it can be shared (as we did). Our chicken was served in 15 minutes. Waiting time isn't too long once you try out your chicken... and yes, I have to mention the waffle again. It's probably the best waffle I've tried so far.

I missed Hole In The Wall! It has been months since I last hung out in this place. I met with one of my suppliers at CCM then I decided to have lunch before going back to QC.

My immediate thought: Bad Bird!

I got the dirty rice combo with a safe and a spicy chicken. I could never decide between dirty rice and the corn, so I just get the corn (off the cob) on the side...

I really like their chicken, especially the spicy one. I just can't eat it straight because of the spice. I will never try the chemical, it might just burn my tongue off. As usual, their dirty rice was the bomb and the corn was really good! 128516 Not really a fan of kimchi though... Oh btw, I can't finish it all...

I like spending time alone and I was able to enjoy my meal at my own pace. HITW was pretty chill on a weekday, despite it being lunch...

Bad Bird is one of the establishments in "Hole in the Wall'' located at Century City Mall in Makati.
It's has the longest line, that's why we tried it and thought that maybe it's really worth trying and worth lining up for.
Upon tasting, I can say it's good but not so worth it of its price.

Budget should be around P300 to P500 per meal. Quite expensive that you can really feel that you're in Makati 128513

Ordered the Chicken & Waffle plate & found it extremely satisfying. Love that the waffles were healthy (made from kamote) yet tasty! For the spice level, I had mine at Chemical levels, baby! Super hot, just the way this tita likes it.

Ah something long overdue.

Bad bird! That's what you say when your order of chicken really stings your taste buds and wanna make you drink milk. I knew the fact their chicken was is spicy so i ordered the safest, mildest one

128204 corn and coleslaw plate
I super like the big chicken pieces. The spice was just right for me--someone who easily sweat especially when eating spicy food. The coleslaw was okay for me. The corn with Japanese mayo and bonito flakes combination is something new and i like it as well.

Heard they're opening at megamall. Good that it's nearer north.

After The Beef, patting myself on the back because I also got to try BAD BIRD after gazillion years! FINALLY!!!! 128557128588🏼

BAD BIRD is said to be the baddest bird in town. Just like The Beef, a lot are saying that Bad Bird serves the best and meanest fried chicken. And ever since HITW opened, I've been wanting to try Bad Bird so bad!!

I always read reviews before going to restaurants just so I know what to order but despite reading a lot about Bad Bird, I still cannot decide which combo to get. Should I get the one with sweet potato waffles, corn and coleslaw, or dirty rice and kimchi? The struggle is real, guys!!! 128563

After some intense and serious decision making, Ony and I ordered the Corn and Coleslaw Plate. Since there are two pieces of chicken, we got one spicy and one chemical.

Again, it was Ony who tried it first and he said it was good. He liked how spicy the chicken was. Tried it and yes, it's like your usual fried chicken but not really. Basta, masarap siya!! The chicken was good perfectly, not dry or oily. Plus the breading was flavorful and not soggy. If you like spicy flavorful and tasty fried chicken, you should try this!!! 128076🏼

After enjoying the chicken, we then tried the sides. The Corn was good. Nakakaadik! Finally, we were able to try the "original". 128521128077🏼 Coleslaw was just okay. Nothing special but it helped lessen the spiciness of the chicken. 128517
