Seriously?! This is on the top list in Puerto Princesa?!

I ordered set of the day (Php 295.00 + sc) since I usually dine alone.

It included fish steak, sinigang na hipon, grilled pork chop, rice and dessert (small plate of fruits lang naman 128530).

SERVICE WAS SLOW! i think it took them 20 mins to serve my order. I asked for soy sauce and it seemed that the crew forgot it when I followed up. 128545 128078

FISH STEAK - not sure if the fish was tanigue, it tasted fresh but it was served cold! not even warm! 128545 and I think it was only seasoned with salt and pepper. 128078

GRILLED PORK CHOP - it's ok for me to be just seasoned with salt and pepper but having 2 dishes with just same seasoning? come on! they must innovate! this was also served not warm. 128078

SINIGANG NA HIPON - served HOT! yeah! 128514 the taste? it was like hot water with knorr sinigang mix and some veggies with 2 pcs of shrimps. 128078

AVOCADO SHAKE - I don't usually order drinks but I tried here. You can quite taste the avocado but lacks sweetness. 128078

AMBIANCE? just so so.. full of mosquitoes at night since it's located on beach front but they must do ways to get rid of it. 128078

It's was not worth trying. I will never recommend this and will never come back as well.

My worst dining in PPC. 128514128514128514

PS: this is my longest review so far with all negative comments.. 128514 Sorry Badjao Seafront Resto.. 9996128074

The view from this restaurant is fantastic, as the name suggests it's seafront. The food here is good and fresh. Going inside you'd walk on a bridge giving you an awesome view as you enter because of the mangroves.

We stumbled upon this place from the recommendation of the trike driver in Puerto Princesa. 128556

Not bad! The location is actually on the side of Palawan by the mangroves already. The whole restaurant is on stilts by the edge. They sell seafood by 100grams cooked from a selection that they offer.

For our lunch we had 300g lapu-lapu cooked with taosi and the 200g shrimps in garlic butter topped with the adobo rice. Not quite the lunch for 2 but we were starving from the trip.

The chef knows how to cook as the fish was still succulent, the shrimp you can easily remove the shell from it. So that's good! Why not 5 stars is because of the pricing - that cost us Php1000 already here in Puerto Princesa. While a similar meal with bigger portions in an earlier restaurant I reviewed cost us 2/3 the price. And that place was newer and service was better.

This place impressed me because of their location. The restaurant isnsurrounded by mangroves. It's a nice place to dine while enjoying the sea view at the forefront. Got some steamed shrimp and squids. If my only basis was the food then I would have given this place a 2.

The receptionist from our hotel recommended this restaurant and since it was near the area we went ahead for lunch. The restaurant is built atop a lake/bay with I believe are mangroves surrounding the establishment. This is a good place for dates or even just to dine with the family. It is an open area so you can feel the breeze as you sip your bottle of beer or that hot broth.
We ordered for the clam soup, pork sisig and sizzling squid. The clams were huge and the broth tasted good. Pork sisig has a sweet taste to it, but not that weird though. The sauce of the sizzling squid was great and the squid itself was cooked well. Their food don't come cheap but reasonable on some dishes.

A very romantic place indeed. Should visit this place around 5:30pm for early dinner since the place is just magnificent during sunset. The restaurant is like floating from the beach and you have to walk a long aisle with lots of mangroves before reaching the restaurant.

Food is pricey so be prepared. Had one small lobster that cost me 500 pesos and we also got shrimps, lato salad and binagoongan baboy. Nothing special with the way of cooking but tasted pretty much okay. 128077128077128077

Seafoods galore!

We ordered the shrimps and crabs in garlic butter sauce but you could hardly taste the garlic butter, it was just sauteed. You need to have a dipping sauce.

The seaweeds salad was good!
Sinigang na Lapu-Lapu was also good! Liked the sour broth!
The grilled blue marlin was a but overcooked, not too tender.

Service was fast and there was even a live piano music to serenade diners.

Best to come during lunch so u have a great view of the mangroves and the sea.

Top things I liked about my very first visit (today) to Badjao Seafront Restaurant (thank you for work mixed with pleasure):

1. After a long day, the breathtaking view took away all tiredness. It was invigorating to just sit there and take the view in.

2. The walkway to the restaurant was a nice little adventure for me and my son (and finding the rest of the resto at the end with that spectacular view was awesome!)

3. The service was pretty fast (they came one after the other and our group of 10 ordered a lot!).

4. The staff were very accommodating (Puerto Princesa has some really aggressive mosquitoes so they happily obliged us with electric fans and anti-mosquito lotion! That's service!)

5. There was a 2-piece band that played very pleasant dinner music making the place all the more welcoming.

6. The fixtures, native/natural furniture, lighting, ornaments and photos of Palawan all around made the place very homey and relaxing ("pocket getaway").

7. And, of course, the food was great! Giant calamares (maybe 3 to 4 times the size of typical Manila calamares), very soft and tasty sizzling tanigue, the perfect kinilaw (not too sour, not too hot), the pakbet was great, corn soup was soothing, and the crispy pata... Well, crispy pata is crispy pata but this tasted clean and did not have any kind of "after taste" (do you guys get what I'm referring to? That sort of weird smell that parts of crispy pata sometimes has? Didn't experience that tonight).

Great food, great ambience, matched with great company made my experience and my son's a most happy one (yes, when I have long out-of-town trips, my son joins me)! I mean, my 2-year-old ate a lot!!! :)

Will make this a permanent stop whenever I come back to Puerto Princesa (may even motivate me to stay at the nearby/affiliated bed and breakfast). :)

A seafront restaurant in Puerto Princesa. 128522

The view is superb. The ambiance of this restaurant is very homey. The staffs are properly trained and nice.

Food!
Crab in carabao milk is a must try. This is your ginataang crab but in a very different level. The carabao milk might be the reason! I really love it and I just cant stop talking about it. I finished it on the last scoop of the sauce! Yum!

The clam soup is delicious also, tastes so fresh! 128522

They have group meals that is good for 3-4 persons, Php950.00 only! 128522

It's been 2 years since I last visited this restaurant when I had my El Nido tour and I must say that this restaurant never changed.

The foods are really something that I'll look forward to. My personal favorite is their spicy shrimp and tuna steak. It's very delicious and classic. I want to order garlic and pepper squid but my BF is not a fan of squid so I have to resists. Servings are good for 2-4 persons. The value of money is good too because as we all know the seafoods in Manila cost really expensive. A serving of platter in Badjao cost only 150-250 php which is very affordable for a seafood.

I recommend that you guys should go here at 7pm if you want a good music but if you want a nice view, you should go here at lunch time or at the afternoon.

Badjao is a restaurant located above the mangrove so at night, beware of mosquitoes. But, what makes the place unique (aside from mosquitoes) is the interior based from the Badjao tribe. I love this place and their foods. 10084

We ordered a lot of seafood which tasted really fresh. Place seemed very popular as it got packed quickly after 7 pm. There were lots of wood and capiz and there was a framed photo of Prince Andrew visiting them. Still, maybe they can update the place even just a little bit. It seemed as if it was stuck in the 70s or 80s.

Also we should have gone here during the day. There was very little of the mangroves to see in the dark as we crossed the wooden bridge to the restaurant. Those are my officemates in the photo btw. They don't know I've posted this. I don't think they'll mind since you can barely see their features anyway.128540

Had lunch here: squid in its ink (Adobo), pork binagonan, grilled pampano, sinigang na Hipon. Food was decent. The mangrove gave a bit of the stinky smell though. Resto was clean. Service was good. :)

First lunch at Puerto Princesa. Loved the view! Mangroves & the sea.

The food was just okay though. Serving size wasn't worth the price. No wow factor too. We ordered shrimps and sizzling squid.
