Very very disappointed by the visit. I had high expectations from this place given the many and good ratings they had. Since my brother just arrived from the States last February for vacation, I invited them to have dinner together, on me. Since the balikbayans prefer Filipino food, I thought of one that's near the place they were staying at and one that's good. I chose this and it was a bad decision. 128531

Interiors were very basic and rustic. Everything looked (and smelled) antique in all angles. All (or most) wooden anywhere you look at, from the tables to chairs and even the walls. It's like an old wooden house converted into a restaurant. They're right beside Thaipan and Stutter Cafe (a new one in the area).

Food was just okay. Expected them to be really wow level since they have a lot of branches already and they seem to be in the business for long now. Experts when it comes to bagoong and Filipino food, but....128542

Everything was just okay. We had the karekare, typical. Chicharon bulaklak, skip this, they were not too crunchy and lacked salt. The fried tilapia something that was nicely plated tasted meh also. The Binagoongan cooked two ways seems to be the most interesting dish we had. You try this and be the judge. Not something I willl come back for though. I don't know if I'm just not a bagoong fan? We also had the calamares...okay lang and lacked taste also.

That sums up my experience.

Not coming back anytime soon. 128542

It's been a while since I ate here, but they still remain to be one of my favorite Filipino restaurants. Their portions are laaaaarge! My BF and I are big eaters but we still had a lot of leftovers! Hahahaha 128514128514128514

We had their awesome Kare-Kare, Laing and Bagoong Rice! They serve complimentary Singkamas at Bagoong while waitig for the food.

The Kare-Kare was just absolutely to die for! It is very obvious they use real peanuts, not just oeanut butter. The sauce has such a rich and deep flavor that I can just have the sauce over rice! But to have it with their bagoong made it even more mouth watering! They say that "Kare-Kare" is only good if the bagoong is good. Fortunately, this is true for this awesome house of sheer guilty salty awesome food! 128516128516128516

Their Laing was amazing as well! 1008410084100841008410084️ and to have them all together with the rice was just a party in my mouth and down to my tummy! 128525128525128525128525128525

Will definitely eat in this place again when I visit Manila! 128077🏼128077🏼128077🏼

I'm not a big fan of Filipino cuisine, but a friend brought me to this place to try out. The food is straight forward, nothing fancy, just rich pinoy flavors, and the price is just right.

There were rumors that they were closing down - which I hope doesn't happen! My first BC experience was a simple dinner for two with glorious encounter with their Ukoy for starters, which was extremely yummy, Crispy Pork Binagoongan which was bursting with flavor and their Sisig which was the dish I least enjoyed unless you like your sisig with liver, then you'd probably like it. The highlight of the whole night was ofcourse their famous Dulce De Leche Cheesecake which by the way, always runs out! We were lucky enough to be served the last two! Every bite was just heaven to a dessert lover like me.

The second visit was for an organization christmas party (they also have provate rooms and an outside dining set-up!) so we were really able to explore their menu. Their Laing is a must try!! Their other dishes are worth the price. Great place for Filipino Comfort Food! 128076

The restaurant is not located on Tomas Morato itself so parking is not a problem. Upon entering the place, one will immediately notice that it was once an old house that had been converted to a dinning place. The foyer walls are filled up with clippings and awards that the restaurant had garnered. A bagoong themed Filipino restaurant. I’m not really a fan of bagoong. I got a bit curious looking at my friends dig into the free appetizer of singkamas with two kinds of bagoong. Bagoong Club serves eight kinds of bagoong, the ones included with the appetizer were Bagoong Pag-ibig and... holy shoot!!! i forgot what they called the other one.. Well anyway going back to the mouth watering story, One taste of the singkamas dipped into Bagoong pag -ibig, which was a little sweet, just right up my palette and I was hooked. So let's do the fast-forward thing.. We then ordered the definite must-order.. are the following.. Binagoongang Baboy(245 pesos), Pinoy Bistek(300 pesos), Crispy Pork Binagoongan(245 pesos), Kalderetang Dila at Baka(295 pesos) and lastly Ensaladang Cilantro sa Ginulat na Tilapia(280 pesos).. It was an EXCELLENT Dinning experience.. All the food are god-like and ooohhhhh soooooo yummy!!! Will definitely coming back for more... #Creating_A_New_Twist_On_Old_Fashioned_Pinoy_Favorites

My NFBF got back from the states after like more than 10years of staying there. So he craved for some good filipino food and the chemusnt suggested this place. And yah, best place for him to try pinoy foods that he really did miss. Like the Karekare and Binagoongan. It made him super happy! 128513128077

With a myriad of restaurants serving Pinoy food, this is one restaurant that you should not miss. They serve good food at reasonable prices. If I have to recommend just one dish it would be the monggo with bulalo, the combination is just perfect. But don't limit your choices to this alone as they have an array of other mouth watering dishes like the sinfully delightful crispy pork binagoongan to the Laing (which would have been best if it were more spicy).

Gaah! Is it just me or the place is freezing cold? Anyways, me and my friends ordered their bulalo sa monggo, inihaw na pusit with the bopis, and pakbet. All were delicious. They also serve very large amount of rice. I also ordered a buko shake which was equally delicious and lastly my friends ordered the pastillas de leche cheesecake which was so sweet. Very nice and recommendable. 128522

I've always liked monggo, so no surprise that I liked their bulalo sa monggo 128077

We also had Crispy Binagoongan and Inihaw na pusit na binusog sa bopis, which were ok.

The service and the guards were attentive and pleasant.128077

I would come back to explore other items on the menu...

Ambiance: Very nice ambiance. Very cozy. (The air conditioned area) it's the type of resto that you'd be comfortable to stay at after you've eaten.

Service: very polite and attentive servers.

Food: singkamas with 2 kinds of bagoong to start it off was good. I got Sinuglaw and Inihaw na Pusit na binusog ng Bopis plus bagoong rice. All were good. The only thing I didn't like was the kilawin tuna was cut so small you had to look for it under all the veggies.

Backlog

I can't believe I haven't written a review on this restaurant! 128557 This is probably my favorite Filipino restaurant ever as I am just a sucker for salty food! Bagoong can easily be "ulam" for me already along with a bowl of hot white rice. 128513

Photo Collage is from my university graduation. (I'm the bunso, so after graduating, it's like my parents graduated too. Hence, their diplomas in the photo. 128513) I requested my family to have my grad dinner here.

They serve you Singkamas and 2 kinds of Bagoong as a complimentary appetizer while waiting for your orders. (They do this even if you're waiting for Take-out orders. 128513)

Their Kare-kare is the best one I've had. 128514 They say that Kare-kare is only good when it's accompanied by good Bagoong too. In this case, it tastes great alone, and tastes even more amazing with the Bagoong! I'm salivating now just thinking about it. 128513

Their Bagoong Rice does not disappoint either. One of the best for me, definitely. Their Crispy Binagoongan's great too! (I know, everything sounds salty but I don't really care. Haha 128516)

I also love a good plate of Laing and the way they make theirs, they know how to please. Theirs is balanced with the flavors of coconut and ginger. Hindi nakakasawa! 128522

Everything else in their menu tastes really good. Can't wait to come back!!! 128514128514128514

I love the place. It's an old house that serves great food. They have a creative menu with all these cute dish names. For starters, the serve singkamas with bagoong. Their ukoy is a must-try, it tastes like fries only better. Perfect while waiting for the other dishes to arrive. Bulalo Monggo is tasty, my favorite was the kuhol. Sisig, binagoongan, and bagoong rice were also good. The staff are friendly and service is good.
