We ate here after our Sunday evening mass before they close at 9pm. Everything was delicious as always. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Well lit place and parking is light in these times of the evening around 8:30pm. Soups are still hot and flavorful. Their selection of food especially their specialties are very consistent with their taste, flavor and quantity. Truly deserving a gem of Taytay Rizal for decades. Did I also mention it's very budget friendly too?

Don't leave Taytay without dining here. Food is your traditional Filipino food with Sinigang na Kandule as their specialty here. It's also the one pictured above. Price is very budget friendly. You would already have a fiesta kind of meal with your ₱1,000. Staff's not that accomodating especially with lots of customers here on Sunday lunch time. Best place to take your visitors here if you're from Taytay Rizal.

Whenever we are in Taytay we eat at Bahay Kawayan. Yesterday when we ate at Bahay Kawayan, i somehow found the Food not as good like before. Below are my comments

Buko Shake - not good, it was not yummy. It lacked flavor. And for the price it WAS NOT worth it.

Piniritong Hito - definitely not at par with the quality before. It was not fried perfectly.

Pinakbet - good but could have been better. Lacked flavor.

Crispy Tenga - this i liked

Sinigang na Kanduli - this was good. The kanduli was fresh and the soup just the right sourness.

Service - it was fast and efficient despite the number of diners.

I do not know if they changed cooks but some of their employees were new. Definitely not the food i loved about Bahay Kawayan.

The best sinigang out there inside and outside of the metro, It may be the hito, kandule or dalag, cook and prepared without the "lansa" factor.

This is my favorite lutong bahay restaurant. Most people who are born and raised 128518 in Rizal Province are familiar with fish dishes like Sinigang na Kandule and Pritong dalag that goes well with condiments like bagoong, vinegar with a bit of sugar (which tastes like the sauce of tokwat baboy). If you want to experience the best version of this tagalog food Bahay Kawayan is the place to be 128077.

Must Try:
Pritong Dalag
Sinigang na Kandule
Crispy Tenga ng Baboy

Dessert:
Leche Flan
Graham Cake

A bit of a distance from San Juan but it is still worth the long drive if you plan to be in the area. The restaurant serves traditional comfort food, not outstanding but still delicious: sinigang na kanduli, pritong dalag, adobong pusit sa gata, crispy pata, and more. The best dish for me was, surprisingly, the chop suey.

The waitstaff are quick and attentive but only if the place is not busy. The place is clean, including the toilets, with a separate place to wash one's hands before and after eating because you're guaranteed to eat with your hands. They might as well also call it Bahay Kamayan. Adequate parking but you need to be early. Accessible by public transportation and easy to find.

We went here with my friends last Saturday to have lunch before teaching one of them to drive at Club Manila East compound. I chose to eat here because everytime my family have visitors, we always take them here, so I decided to take my friends here too for lunch.

We got Sinigang na Kandule (divided to three) pictured above and Inihaw na Baboy. I already know how the food here tastes like but man, the Inihaw na Baboy (or simply barbeque) is just epic! It's very flavorful and yummy! It's also very tender and soft that it literally falls off your fork when you get one. I loved it so much that I ordered another one, good for one person in my appetite. The Sinigang na Kandule here is legend already since the 60s or 70s if I'm not mistaken. Very authentic. You should try it when you're here.

Price is very affordable. The Sinigang na Kadule or Inihaw na Baboy I think costs around P120-150 each. Enough serving for two or three persons depending on your appetite. I highly recommend this place if you're visiting Rizal especially Taytay. 128521

Pinoy food! Pritong dalag is really good 128077 though i didnt like the "tinik" (fishbone) part of it. First time to try mustasa and it was good also. Grilled pork is too sweet for me, coz im for salt and pepper plain and simple.

I liked their sago't gulaman!

Thanks Raech P!
