For Php 9.00 each I enjoyed digging Balai Pandesal's Toasted Siopao and it comes up with flavors too.

At first I thought this is just one of the pastry/bake shops with overpriced items, but after trying their Crinkles (P30.00 per pack) i'd say it's sulit! That moist and not-too-sweet treat satisfied my hunger. One of my fave now. Teehee!

Back here again!!! Before going home, went here first for the yummy pandesal. Ahhh, we are still currently addicted with their pandesal! Ahh, the best! Promise!! You guys should try this!!!! They have the extra large pandesal, which is really big, but I like just the medium since it's not too big and just right. I can eat around 2-3 sa isang upuan hahaha!! 128517 Ask them to reheat it and eat it right away! Even better when paired w hot choco or coffee! I'm eating one right now hihi 128513128518128077🏼

I've been wanting to go to this place eversince I've read about it from Edwin I and since we were already passing EDSA we decided to stop by here.

The plan was to only get a kalihim but there were too many pastries to pass on them. And so I got a bunch of other pastries like the pandesalita, bonita pandesal, egg pie, ensaymada and cheese bread.

I've only tried the kalihim, egg pie, and the pandesal as of this writing.

The kalihim was pretty good but a bit too salty for my liking and the filling kind of falls apart and it gets a bit messy.

The egg pie was delicious. It was perfectly dense, moist and not too sweet.

The pandesalitas and bonitas were really good and will definitely bring us back for more. The bonita is the tiny version of their pandesal but a bit buttery. Perfect for kids. The pandesalitas are the basic pandesal but really good on their own, even better when reheated in the oven.

We will definitely be back next week to get more of the pandesals!

I'm so loving Balai Pandesal's Kalihim (also called Pan de Regla or Pan de Pula)128525128525

Their take on this childhood favorite sweetbread roll is simply nostalgic perfection . Nicely dense, chewy , right sweetness of the "pula" custard with bits of sugar crystals.

I have been looking for good sources of this classic local sweetbread favorite of mine. Yes, there are a handful of panaderias that sell them. The thing is, these handful of panaderias seemingly can't get it right--- either the pan de Regla/Kalihim is too sweet, the bread is too dry, the "pula" custard is too "bitin".

Prior to trying Balai Pandesal's, my go to place for this treat was Blue Kitchen. Honestly, BK's version is really good BUT quite expensive.

Glad to have "discovered" Balai Pandesal's version.

This huge roll, just 35 bucks.

Retro food goodness at best. A foodie's simple pleasure that truly brings back childhood simple indulgences.
