The first branch I've tried. They serve soup here unlike in other branches. Quaint and parking is tough but worth going to if you're in the area.

Yummy! We ordered the beef steak stuffed with mozzarella cheese, my sister ordered the chicken topped with mozzarella cheese. Serving is big with french fries (you can opt for rice). It was really filling and good!

I also like the simplicity of the place:bright white walls, wooden chairs and that lace-like tablecloth makes the place feel so homey. I like that it's away from commercial areas so while you're eating you can just relax looking out the window.

Cons: slow slow service and no parking. Good thing the food was worth the wait.

Argh. That beef Stuffed with mozzarella will be the end of me. It is SO GOOD! And their goulash??!! Delicious. I finished the entire beef thing by myself when it is good for two people. #sorrynotsorry

Deducted 1/2 star for price.. Found it expensive.
Deducted 1/2 star for parking.. there is none.

Ordered the goulash and the stuffed beef with mozzarella (cannot spell nor pronounce the word they used). Very tasty! It's as good as how I remembered it from years ago. 10084

I've been putting this off for such a long time...today, I finally got to try this place!

I'm told they are not busy on weekdays and are open only until 10pm....and the owner is actually a Serb!

Service is friendly. Benny gladly helped us pick out our order.

So, we ended up having:
Chicken Batak - 128077
Stuffed Pljeshavica - 128077
goulash- 128077

I will be back for sure...might even have these three dishes again! 128515

I just remembered that I haven’t reviewed Balkan Express yet! Thanks for the reminder, clingy people.

I wanted to try this place for so long because it’s relatively kind of new to the palate, and there isn’t much restaurants that offer Yugoslavian food. (And because Marko is from La Salle! Hahaha!)

I took my family here weeks ago, and we had mixed reviews. My brothers and I loved the food, but the oldies were just okay with it.

For starters, we got the Goulash. It has lean beaf, onions, paprika, and a bit of pasta. It was a bit off at first, but it grows on you. I love how this can be a meal itself. Very filling!

My brother had Chicken Batak (pictured above), and it was good! Grilled perfectly, with the right amount of cheese on top. My other brother got their Cevapcici, which is like a burger, but their patty is shaped into sausages. They both finished their food without complaints so I guess they liked it.

I got the Stuffed Pljeskavica, which is basically hamburger patty stuffed with mozzarella cheese. I got mine with jasmine rice instead of fries. And boy, I LOVED IT! Juicy beef, oozing cheese, what’s not to love? But please don’t make me say pljeskavica, because up until now I don’t know how to pronounce it. Hahaha!

Place is a bit small though!

Had the stuffed pljeskavica shared with the wife since it was sized good for 2!

Really good! Great recommendation from my friend who always eats in the area. Will go back in the future to try the other dishes.

Wonder how they got the meat to be tender yet juicy and cooked right!

Recommended for that unusual food dinner spot!

Yugoslavian food is one of my fav and if you want to try, go to Balkan. Highly recommend the Pljeskavica. This is a stuffed ground beef with melted mozzarella cheese. You may adjust the spicy level based on your preference but trust me, don't opt the max level just to show your stupidity and manhood because it will just ruin the taste of the meat.

We love everything they served, I can taste the real beef in there stuffed Pljeskavica and they used quality mozzarella.

CHICKEN BATAK is my favorite, I'm not a chicken eater but the way they cook there chicken gusto ko cya, so soft to my palate and no fishy taste.

Balkanski Kebab is barbecued chicken kebab wrapped in bacon, my son love it, bacon doesn't over power the chicken.

I don't like there Goulash it is a stew lean beef with noodles...I think it's better serve with rice rather noodles it taste ordinary to me. Hubby said my beef stew is far better. They need to put more kick on it.

Staff is really 128079

I have to admit the first time i went to this place i thought the place was pretty shady. Not only that but the menu was just listed on the wall and the print was petty outdated. Snob of me I know but that was my first impression of the place. I ordered stuffed Pljeskavica, not spicey and from the looks of it i though it was going to taste just meh. As you can see in the photo it's nt that impressive to look at. Pretty surprised it taste really great specially if your a fan of cheese. Mmmmm cheese. Price is pretty cheap compared to some. I think it's a good try every now and then

The Balkanska Snicla--- it's a mouthful to pronounce, but you can't go wrong with this hefty, breaded boneless chicken breast fillet sandwich, which is served with their tasty home made sauce. None of that ordinary mayo and dressing you can buy at the grocery. This is THE chicken breast fillet sandwich to end all others!

The quaint resto interior makes you feel at ease and at home--- the best way to enjoy your food.

Craving for a different flavor, we opted to have dinner at Balkan Express. We ordered two of their best sellers, Chicken Batak (boneless chicken breast, grilled and top with melted mozzarella) and Stuffed Pljeskavica (ground beef steak stuffed with mozzarella) and opted for both dish to be served with rice. Serving size were quite generous, cheese lovers will also have a treat as they don't seem to cutback on cheese.
